Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
I tried match.com on 2015 for 3 months and canceled it. I canceled the email account I used for it. Now after more than a year later I realized that they are still charging me. I called the customer service and tell them that I have not even log on the their sit after the 3 month. No, they won't check. They won't give me the manager's name, number or any contect information. Most arrogant and enraging. Don't have to say that I didn't get a date during that 3 months. Rotten business.

When I cancelled, there WAS a 'hidden' "do not automatically renew" which I selected. After about 2 years, I wound up SCREAMING at a match.com representative to cancel my subscription.
They bold-faced (though I couldn't see the face) LIED to me. If my husband drops dead tomorrow, (didn't meet on match), I'm going to eHarmony.
Never again. NEVER (something I can say with complete confidence)

I was only on a few days uploaded photos approved by match but was then terminated for some photo reason but they would not tell me other than I violated terms of use, all photos were approved by them, go figure and that I would have to take them to court to get the reason why acct was terminated. I was close to making a connection or so they say. I believe it. S all shady and a scam. Not real Lj24

No zero available. The worst service. I tried to cancel my subscription several time & it wouldn't give me confirmation, when I finally cancelled my subscription to match.com the day my new subscription was to start, they refused to give me a full refund & charged me for 3 months. Many, many old & fraudulent profiles, i received many inquires which turned out to be scammers trying to get money. The worst experience, i wouldn't use match again ever & WARNING to others for the extremely poor customer service & business practices. I have received nothing for the 3 month fee & removed all my info from the service. They keep rebilling my card.

I joined match a few days ago. I thought that I would pay $21 a month for 6 months. I check my account and it had taken the full amount out of my account. Which ended up being $139. As soon as I signed up and checked my account I tried to get a refund, within 5 minutes of signing. THEY DON'T GIVE REFUNDS. I then decided to make the best of it because I already spent a fortune. I've messaged a few people with no replies. I went to see if they read the messages. Then there is a link saying GUARANTEE THEY CAN REPLY. They literally can't reply without paying an additional $56 for the 6 months. Are you kidding me?!?! What was the point of me paying in the first place. I don't care to look at pictures of people that I can't talk to. BIGGEST SCAM EVER!

Be CAREFUL, please read. An advise from a friend
If you ever decide to try this website, the first thing you need to do is subscribe and then go to the setting and cancel your subscription. If you do not do that then they will autocharge you once your subscription is over! They made me pay for total 9 month with out me knowing when I wanted to use the site only for 3 month! If you cancel your subscription directly, you can still use it until your terms are over, and you will not be autocharged.

I joined Match.com because my children encouraged me to, but since joining I've found that the website preys upon the elderly and computer illiterate by spamming their inboxes with emails of "new matches", which upon clicking lead you to accidentally select upsells that then automatically charge your linked credit card (Without re-confirming credit card number or anything). This site is nothing but scams, extremely unprofessional, with the most outdated user interface I've experienced in the 2000s. Didn't meet anyone, except a few shady women who seemed to be run by a bot. Stay away from this site.

The service Match offers is fine and does what it says it will do. The problem I have with it (and others have had same problem because we compare notes) is that years after you have deactivated your account and closed it every way possible via the site, you will still be seen by others who are active on the site, they can still write you (and think you aren't answering) and friends will walk up to you on the street and say they saw you on dating site (causing problems for you and your partner whom you are currently dating). Apparently there is no way to get them to stop posting your profile and pictures AS IF you are still active on the site.

Over 100 emails sent out and not a single responce. Most profiles are fishing scams. Canceled my subscription and deactivated my account a MONTH ago yet they still just hit my bank for another $104 and refuse to refund my money since i did not save my confirmation number. When called they say my account is still active and visable and even though they charged me less then 24 hours ago im stuck having a paid membership for another 3 months. AVOID this site at all costs!

I signed up for a 3-month Match subscription in January of 2017. After about a month and a half, I found the matches were poor so I cancelled and I distinctly remember checking off do not auto-renew. In late July of 2017, I looked on my credit card statement and I found that I was charged from Match. I had a family crisis (my dad died) and could not deal with them at that time. In October I received another charge of $123 on my credit card from Match so I called them and I was told that I was still signed up and I that I had an active profile. I am furious about this as I had followed the proper procedure (I had been on Match before). The Match telephone agent that I talked to said that he "deactivated" my account and reduced my bill by $44. Stay away from Match. These people are sneaky thieves.

This a very popular site, both the Australian site and the US but it is full of scammers. Within hours of putting up my profiles I was overwhelmed with "Matches" that were 1000's of miles from my hometown and 20-30 years younger than me. You also get false "winks" trying to entice you to join. Whether or not these are from the webmasters or from 3rd party scammers I don't know, but why would a 22 year old sexy blonde in california wink at a 50 year old male in Australia?. Fortunately I didn't give them my primary email and I never gave them any cc detains and deleted my profile immediately. Be wary of any site that "matches" you innapropriately. I know this is a very popular site, but I can assure you there are better, more genuine sites out there that pro-actively filter out scammers.

Match looked like it was well run, until I was required to verify my account with my phone number. My landline number wouldn't work. I was told by their support, that I must have a cell phone. They wouldn't even accept my email address, like other dating sites.

Tell me how someone in California stole my pictures and changed my passport so now I can't access my paid account and cannot cancel it as this "diego12" as *******@hotmail.com has my match identity - isn't that just great! So tell me, just how the hell that happened and so far absolutely no response back from you - you should be shut down as everyone claims you should and for good reason. You should be ashamed of yourself for scamming innocent people - probably kind of funny to you as you can't make it on your own in the real world so you scam others to survive! Karma is a $#*! and it will catch up to you one day!

Try as hard as I might, I couldn't get a half decent date on this site. I think they show a lot of profiles of people who just aren't on the site anymore, or who haven't paid their monthly subscription. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are simply looking to kill time.
Date of experience: August 29, 2011
I have responded to several hundreds of profiles to these Women on this site not one time was I inappropriate in any way my messages that I have sent out were All sincere and complementary and not even a single response back either these women love the attention that stuck up or just flat out fake profiles if I had Known I would have not wasted over a $100 for a 3 month subscription I haven paid extra so they wants that don't have a paid subscription could still respond back absolutely pathetic

Match.com
I contacted your customer service twice today, the first call was disconnected, so I thought, the second time when I asked to talk to a supervisor in the USA I was told match.com only has call centers in the Dominican Republic then I was hung up on after requesting to speak with someone from the US. I sighing up for a 1 month trial with match in June after that month I called and canceled, come to find out I've been charged every month since! I feel deceived and stolen from.

I was a member of match.com. I canceled my account and continued to get charged through my account. They customer service are inconsiderate and rude, there is no manager to get ahold of, and all of customer service are foreigners. They will beat you around the bush, anything to keep their money. It is a joke, money grabbing selfish bastards. Make sure when you cancel your subscription ask for all your information to be deleted, or they will help them self's into opening a new subscription.

With out a doubt this site is a scam. Signed up for a month membership a while back. After getting hardly any attention for a few weeks I canceled the membership. A week after the membership ended I got an email saying someone had shown interest in me with the daily interest thing. For me to reactivate my membership and see who it was. Like a fool I did and I did see a couple profiles in the interested in me section. But under all of their profiles was the same garbage. Additional information about the profile was unavailable. I'm going to cancel again and take down my profile all together. I'm not getting scammed by them again.

Paid for 3-mo premium membership, can't see pictures, can't see messages, called help line, spent 20 minutes being led through app after app page, wanted to send me a dummy amount, then have me send back to them to reset my account. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! NOT WORTH IT!
Tip for consumers:
GO TO ANOTHER SITE!

Had plenty of dates from this site over the past 2 years. One of the best sites on the net for dating. Don't care what all the haters say... MATCH IS GREAT! Only site which comes close is Mingle2day. 5 STARS for MATCH!

After having a terrible experience for 6 months, and payment was automatically processed for the next 6 months, I called to get my money refunded. I was told to suspend future payments and deactive the profile which I did and did not use the site. However, the refund was never issued and now I'm being told that it won't! If you're looking for something/someone specific, do NOT bother with this site. Not only is the customer serivce terrible, the options for matchs are not there!

Let me tell you how it works. Research shows that 85% of profiles on this dating site are either fake or redundant so, only about 15% are real. Redundant profiles are managed by bots and/or site moderators. Such profiles wither do not respond or send you a new standard response re; "Sorry, your invitation was declined. Keep a smile on your face and keep looking! The Match Team". Other standard responses include; "I'm sorry I don't think we're a match. But thanks for your message: I hope we both find someone right for us!", "I don't think you're the one for me. But you'll be the one for someone else, so keep on looking!", "You'll make someone happy one day, but I don't think it'll be me. Let's both keep looking for that special someone: they're out there somewhere!", "I'm sorry I don't think we're a match. But thanks for your message: I hope we both find our special someone!", "Thanks for getting in touch. I don't think we're right for each other. But keep looking you'll find the right match one day!", "Sorry I don't think right for each other. But stay on your dating journey and I hope you'll find someone soon."
Notice how all he responses are ridiculously similar? This implies there are some fat men with micro genitals in a dark room somewhere making up all these poor responses!
Don't use this site as it is a scam as are most dating sites.
They block you after sending these messages.

I signed up for match for 3 months. I cancelled it online. At least I thought I did. Then just today I looked at my bank acct and there was a charge for $139. I called match right away. They told me I never cancelled it and they could only refund half of my money. At this point I was very upset. I know they can refund for the full amount but they just choose not to. Match is a freakin scam..

I had not been on the service for weeks because I meet someone at my gym, so canceled my subscription, then I found out a couple days after match auto-billed me and would not refund me for 3 month subscription I will never use, so for a 3 day period "I never used" I am being charged $71.97? I specifically did NOT want to be auto-billed but apparently match just over rides the customers request. I called and spoke to someone NOT in the USA that spoke VERY poor English! Ridiculous! I am Very Dissatisfied!

I was a member for 2 years. Had 2 scammers never met anyone off Match. Last week I cancelled my subscription and then last night I looked at my bank account and I was charged for 90 days. I emailed and said I canceled my subscription but apparently I cancelled only part of it (?) Even though I clicked on cancel subscription
So I contacted them regarding it. And I was told I will not get a full refund. I am getting 1 month "free". I told them I dont want another month I want a full refund because my account shouldn't have been charged in the first place. They said they can't give me a full refund
