I am used to shopping at Lowes or Home depot, both 15 minutes from my home. But now I drive 35 minutes to Menards. Why? How about being able to find a person when you need help? And that person generally knows the answer. Their wood is head and shoulders above the other two and is also cheaper. I recently needed a single 4x4 to finish up a decking project. Menards was a dollar cheaper, the post was better, and I got an 11% rebate on it. Did I actually save money driving an extra 20 minutes? No. But sooner or later it becomes the principle of the thing.
I drove an hour to try to pick up an item listed on "Ray's List." The snotty employee snorted when she brought up the listing and basically said I shouldn't expect to find it in the store because it was listed over a year ago. Apparently there's no system remove items from the list once they've been sold. What a joke.
Discredited all my rebates at register during checkout so I paid cash anyway TO BE KIND. Then went to customer service and they said I didn't even have an account! THEN they tried to steal my store credit with MY PERSONAL PRAYERS WRITTEN on the back of it. So I took back my PRAYERS, caused no harm, didn't touch anyone. NOW IM BANNED from all locations for being a victim... What a disease of falsehood in management and professionalism. They gave no reason for sending a BANNED otice, this is an insult to themselves and how unintelligent they are as well.
I used to love Menards until my recent refrigerator purchase. I paid extra for the installation, water line, etc. Delivery guys said it would not fit nor could they remove my old refrigerator. The delivery guys were incredibly rude. I called my daughter and she explained to the delivery guys that the old fridge could be removed if the doors are taken off. They argued with her saying it was still too big. They left my new fridge in my living room then gave me a number to some guy in town who would do the job for $80. My daughter came over, took off the doors, and got the old fridge outside without any problems. She was unable to move the new fridge out of the living room into the kitchen so we did end up calling "their guy" to fix this issue. What a scam to pay an installation fee from Menards then have the delivery guys say I have to pay someone else for the same service. Called Menards for a refund on installation as that was not performed. We were told no and repeatedly hung up on. I used to do all my home improvement shopping at Menards. After this experience, I will never step foot into a Menards again.
Another customer lost because of their mask policy. I wore a mask up until I received the vaccination. I've done my part. Don't punish us fully vaccinated people.
After view the same produces from other suppliers, Menards mark everything up 10 to 11% then gives you the rebate only you have to spend it back in their store. Hell of a deal!
I feel you guy's are being GREEDY! By making people pay more for something that Not even worth it. You guys should be ASHAMED of yourselves. You should leave prices the same or lower them in this Life crises may GOD be with us all STOP! BEING EVIL

I rarely go into menards any more because they don't honor there 10% back sale. I called and was told I had to get on line and take care of it.
BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH MENARDS, check their BBB rating! It is an "F". They do not attempt to resolve any problems and do not comply with FTC rules regarding change of shipping. I cancelled an order because the ship date was pushed back over 2 weeks. They issued a refund minus the rebate amount. The rebate has not been issued and clearly states that it will be reduced by the amount of any returns. They cheated me out of $106.
Their online orders take forever to receive them. At least 15 days. They ship your products 7 to 14 days after the purchase. Granted it's probably more the vendors fault than Menards.

Horrible experience from the beginning to the end, i spent almos $2,000 on 2 house wall Heathers, they were delayed, one didn't work and it took me many calls and emails to customer service, after several weeks I got the replacement parts then I had to pay a repair man to exchange the faulty parts. Then they gave me two coupons worth about $160.00 these coupons were to be used at the store ONLY which they did not disclosed, I live in Southern California, there's no stores here so I got screwed again

We ordered part of a garage door costing about $400 and a month later it came in was not what we ordered. Being upset we want our money back, BUT they charged us $120 restocking fee. WRONG. PLEASE READ! Take it to managers attention if your at Camby it's a waste of your time. Call customer service *******800 or contact the state Department of Consumer Affairs. Retailers don't like this because they'll get fine Heavily. REMEMBER the state laws says It's A illegal Restocking fee if... 1. Being charged if the merchandise is defective. 2. Being charge for delivery that was wrong. 3. Being charge for delivery that was later than the promised time. 4. They exceeded 50% of your purchase. 5. Here's the big one one of the most important! If you had bought a merchandise that has a restocking fee if returned and you were not adequately disclosed about the restocking fee policy then you do not have to pay! Sometimes it's not worth going up the ladder and if that is what is happening let them know from the very beginning like we did tell them" we are not going to stand on here and argue with you we wil contact the state Department of consumer affairs and I will get my money back and you will get a fine it's your choice. Because the consumer affairs attorney that is free will tell you it doesn't matter how little the cost is or how big the cost is we are here to stop illegal restocking fees which is taking advantage of the customers money that's why they get fined. I did updating of my kitchen and this is the first time I bought my supplies from this God forsaken store.
After buying everything I sent them their so called rebate department all the info they needed with my receipt and rebate from.
IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO YEARS... I am still waiting for my checks. I recently sent them few more rebates and those are been few months already. What can I say I have bad habits to test my luck again.
Upon asking in store I was very rudely told to contact rebates department via email because they have nothing to do with rebates. It's like those guys at customer service are giving me a favor by being there and earning their paycheck by my business. But no I can't ask for any help from them. Their attitudes are like why are you even talking to them. Extremely rube customer service and absolutely utterly ridiculous 11% rebates sale. Absolutely scam just to get customers in and get their business. But when it comes to rebates they will make you wait forever and hope that you will just forget about it.

I wish there is a zero star for this rating. Very bad service. People in the store bring you incorrect items, which you get stuck with. I bought a bathtub and wall set the other day. The employee brought me the wrong items and wrong size, different from the displayed ones I asked for. This cost me a lot renting a truck to return the bulky wall set to the store. Further, we noticed that the bathtub is not the right model I chose after it has been installed. You typically don't expect that the employee is careless that he brings you a different item. When I contacted customer service complaining about this poor service, they told me it's my responsibility to check the items at the store and make sure they are the correct ones you asked for. Instead of taking the responsibility, they asked me next time to stand in the middle of the store opening the huge bathtub and wall set boxes and getting items out of the boxes piece by piece to make sure that the careless employee got me the right stuff I asked for. That is it. NO MORE MENARDS. Competitive stores have much better customer service from my previous experience and BTW they also give you 11% rebate if you ask for it.
Went to Menards in Three Rivers, Michigan yesterday, and it will be my last time I go there.
Ordered several items online. At arriving to pick them up, Ashley was the checkout person. Told her my name, she got the items and handed them to me, short one item I asked where the item was, she said 'GO OUTSIDE, GO DOWN TO THE SECOND BARN, GO HALFWAY DOWN, ITS ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN ON THE LEFT.' She was cold and robotic.
I walked outside, this area is huge. Wondered around for about 20 minutes looking, until a guy driving a hill went by and I asked him. He told me where it was, and also I should get my car as the piece I was looking for was 10 feet long. (YES, I knew this, didn't know I could drive my car in this area. Thanks Ashley).

They are very rude and disrespectful they have called me names because I have a cart and a disability I don't have a car so they had to be nasty and call me homeless trash tell me to leave my card outside so people can steal my stuff they kick me out of there for no parent reason call me hateful racial names that I call them the management they hung up on me and then the second time they were very nasty and rude to me they said they don't care they didn't want people like me in there they want Rich people
You have to be psychic to shop on the right day for the rebate unfortunately I am not. I avoid shoping here.
We do not have a Menards near us in the Western PA area the nearest stores are well over an hour away in WV and OH. I ordered a paper towel holder that was advertised as working with slatwall. It was under Menard's own Tool Shop brand. Price was ok but when I received the product it DOES NOT FIT into standard slatwall slots. There are many types of slatwall and some manufacturers do not make the slots in the same dimensions as others. The holder did not fit into the StoreWALL and Handiwall types that we have been using. I tried to return it but they wanted over $12 for a $6 item to return it even though it did not work as advertised. I won't be ordering from Menards in the future.
Purchased an AC exhaust kit for my Soleus unit, Menards shipped the wrong one, they acknowledged it in an email.
Then they sent a fedex return label, deducted from my return money, they also charge a "restocking fee" leaving me $27 from a $69 purchase.
When I informed the customer service dept about the error (joke) they argued, blamed me for even buying the product, even though the menards website claims it was the correct model.

I was excited to see a new hardware store competing with Home Depot and Lowes when it arrived in our area. I have now done business with this location and am disgusted by the true lack of service I receive when doing business with this location.
Example: Online order for 6 x 12 x 8 pressure treated lumber. The lumber was terrible quality, and because I wasn't taking that item, your staff thought it was appropriate to tell me to take my car already loaded with lumber to customer service on the other side of the store to correct the order. Really? No, that is the staff's job to do.
Example: I purchased an exterior 1/2 light door with window that opens that should have a screen in it. Picked up on 6/6/21, installed on 6/15/21. Discovered after the installation by my contractor that the screen is missing. So, how does Menards staff handle this? They tell me to run after the manufacturer to get the screen that should have been with the door to begin with. No, that is the staff's job. Not the customer who spent over $360 for that door.
So, here is my response to Menards. I will be returning several items tomorrow from my last order and will never do business with Menards again. Your service is infinitely worse than Home Depot. You should be ashamed of this store.

Waited for REFRIGERATOR for passed the 90 day money back policy. Reordered said REFRIGERATOR from manager with a 10 to 14 day delivery date. Well boys and girls those days have passed an still no REFRIGERATOR.
The 11 % rebate program is a SCAM If you send in a rebate form it's 50/50 that you will get a rebate from them, plus they have "NO" customer service to help tracking rebates that don't show up at the customers home; absolutely none. I have three forms that have not been paid. They have never been redeemed and have still not been cashed. The store where the original purchase was made do not or will not per company policy help a customer or have a company policy that will reissue rebates to the customer. I will never ever again shop at or recommend MENARDS to anyone, plus I tell everyone I can about the piss poor customer service they have and that they don't care that their customer knows this is "COMPANY POLICY " of their corporation.

While purchasing a new wash machine on11/26/2022 I made sure and even asked sales person about the usual 11% rebate on this item and was even instructed where to grab on the way out. Come to find out after waiting 3 months that the rebate offer had expired on 11/23/2022. This I find disgusting that sales staff was not up to date on merchandise and I was under the impression it was 11% as usual. Have done quite a bit of shopping there in the past but NOT ANYMORE! MENARDS SUCKS!

I have enjoyed shopping at Menards for may years. Everything was fine until this past month.; The Baxter MN Menards is the closest one to our lake home but is still 64 miles away. We are working on a back yard project that requires several type of blocks. The first issue one type of block is special order. We drove tho the store 2 before they go the correct a blocks ordered. The rest of the blocks pavers and edgers along with post blocks 4x4/6/6 were scheduled for delivery. The post blocks were on the delivery slip but not delivered. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the Menards delivery person who said the blocks were put back in inventory and we could come and pick them up from the yard when ever we wanted as long as there were some in inventory. Keeping in mind this is a 2 hour round trip for us they said that they could not set blocks aside for us nor could they guarantee that there would be block in inventory when we got, we also dont have any paper work that show the blocks were not on the truck or a incomplete purchase order that would let us into the yard, or that would allow us to leave the yard with the blocks we paid for over 3 weeks ago. This is the most frustrating and idiotic customer service I have had the misfortune to deal with, since gas is so expensive and we can't drive 120 miles every day for nothing.
Absolutely awful. Place an order on line since it isn't in my local store. Received confirmation of order. Funds come out of my account before the item is even shipped. Not really a big deal but when the item doesn't arrive by the time stated then it becomes a big deal. It was to be in on Feb. 4th. It did not arrive and I received no information. I contacted Menards and they stated I needed to speak to a trucking company that hauls the item... Are you people crazy. I should not have to do your job for you... but I did. I contacted that trucking company who informed me that the item has not shipped. Ok so where's my item? Well now you have to contact Menards to find out where it is. So I call them. They have no answers but will get back to me. I email... oh do I email... lol and I received a reply. It is running late and will arrive on the 6th. Ok. Not so bad. Well until it didn't arrive. So I contacted Menards. And found that my item still had not shipped and was now delayed for 3 weeks but will arrive the following month. Ok. I'm trying my best to be patient. So the 3 weeks go by... well it seems as though my item still has not shipped. It will be 3 additional weeks. I was just notified yesterday that it is now ready for pickup. Any bets on if it will be in one piece. Will Never... NEVER purchase from them again. Simply awful!
