I am used to shopping at Lowes or Home depot, both 15 minutes from my home. But now I drive 35 minutes to Menards. Why? How about being able to find a person when you need help? And that person generally knows the answer. Their wood is head and shoulders above the other two and is also cheaper. I recently needed a single 4x4 to finish up a decking project. Menards was a dollar cheaper, the post was better, and I got an 11% rebate on it. Did I actually save money driving an extra 20 minutes? No. But sooner or later it becomes the principle of the thing.
I drove an hour to try to pick up an item listed on "Ray's List." The snotty employee snorted when she brought up the listing and basically said I shouldn't expect to find it in the store because it was listed over a year ago. Apparently there's no system remove items from the list once they've been sold. What a joke.
Do NOT order anything on Menards.com. I ordered defective landscape lights. Menards Cust Serv told me to return lights for full refund. Menards sent refund in form of IN STORE credit that can ONLY be redeemed in the store. I live in Florida. The closest store is KY! Menards refused to refund the $130 to my credit card nor issue store gift card. Now I have no lights and no $130. MENARDS HAS A LICENSE TO STEAL FROM CONSUMERS! Wish I knew somebody in KY I can give this check to. It's worthless to me.
Looking for a portable a/c unit. Found a GE model on menards.com, told it was available on line but not in store. Ordered and paid for it. Close to two weeks later still not delivered, told delays in shipping due to riots. Finally got delivery, but we got a totally different brand, not the GE we ordered. And the brand they delivered was much cheaper than the GE. Also, were told the unit they delivered could have been picked up, in the store, so the freight we paid was a total rip off. We paid freight for something we could have gotten in the store. I figure we should get a refund for about 80.00. As soon as we received the wrong a/c we went to the store with all our paperwork and was told we needed to deal with menards.com, would not help at the store. Since the, I have sent emails (told to do that) 3 times now and it's been almost another two weeks and still haven't got a response from the company. If don't get help will never purchase from them again. And the worse thing: I go on line to menards.com and the GE A/C unit still shows in stock and available! I cant believe the poor service.
Every time I go in to one of these stores they are having a sale on something! All prices are very reasonable and they eve have a food and health section! A great place to shop!
I went to Menards in May because my siding faded for the second time in 5 years. The manager indicated he was more than happy to help. Four months later, the manger has done nothing to help us with the issue with the manufacturer. Last night, I stopped in to see if the manager had any more information. He "went off" on me. He indicated that it is not his job to help the customer with this type of problem, he yelled and walked away from me. It was the most unbelievable interaction I have ever had with anyone. He was rude to me and my wife who tried to tell him we were just looking for help from a company we normally love to do business with and normally have good experiences with. This experience was the very worst customer service I have ever received. The manager also indicated that I shoudl talk to their customer service area. When I tried that phone number, it just loops you around in a circle. After listening to many prompts, it finally told me I needed to write a letter. Is Menards afraid to talk to their customers?
I ordered a rather expensive refrigerator and they said it would be delivered in 2 months... I emailed them the day before it would be delivered and didn't get a response. I emailed them 4 times while I was sitting at home waiting for them... they responded 3 days later and said that was an estimated date. So they gave me another date a month later... same thing - waited at home all day sent emails didn't hear back for 2 WEEKS. They haven't given me another 'estimated' delivery date on the expensive refrigerator THAT I'VE BEEN PAYING INTEREST ON FOR 5 MONTHS. COVID is not an excuse. The very very least you can do is let me know if it will be delivered WHEN YOU SAY IT IS so I don't sit home all day waiting. What a piece of crap company. If you actually want to pay for something AND GET IT - don't buy it at Menards.
I bought a lawn mower 2 weeks ago. I brought it back because i couldn't get it started. The lawn mower took a crap. I returned it to the store they refuse to give my money back. Nor woukd they give me store credit. Because i gas piwered mowers they don't return i had no clue but i will never buy $#*! like that again. Now my mower don't work i need to mow my lawn. I am turning them in to the better business bureau. F menards. Plus i psid cash for it and i had my reciept. They guarantee returns bull$#*!.
Don't use their rhino after hours cage to get propane it didn't even give me propane and it cost me almost a $100. Overcharged me x 2 when inside they gave me a refund for $21.32 and then the kiosk hit me for another $57 3 days later AND THEY WONT REFUND IT

Just got kicked out of Menards on brookpark rd in Cleveland Ohio for not wearing a mask. Told the so called manager I have a medical condition and that I cannot wear a mask. He told me get out of the store or I will call the police even made me put down what I came to purchase claiming that if I don't wear a mask I cannot purchase anything from the store. Truly believe this was more racial than anything else. I told him several times that I cannot wear a mask and if anything happened to me as a result of the mask he and the store would be liable and I would sue the store which is when he told me get the hell out the store or I will call the police. I put down what I came to purchase walked out the store very angry, with the manager walking behind me as if I was shoplifting making sure I got out of the store. Already placed a phone call into my attorney on regards to this matter. People like this should not be employed by Menards or any other store for that matter. Don't mean to play the race card here but when you tell someone you can't do something because of an existing condition and they still insist you do it because they said so then it makes it a personal issue which is why I believe it was racially driven.
Went to the Garden center on a Saturday and in the building supply department to order my mulch and pea gravel and they were the most friendliest and helpful people in those department and James in the building supply department was very helpful in ordering my supplies that I needed in the garden department both department I was impressed with the customer service when you go to other big home improvement stores you are on your own founding things most of the time
Had to give one star to leave this review I give -100 stars. I was in the store Saturday and saw sign that as of today no returns. I said to the service desk person..."I have returns I will be sure to get them here tomorrow." I showed up 5 minutes before opening Sunday and found they were closed for Easter. Service desk could have told me this. Went in today and manager Derek in Batavia IL said no He would not take return... as if an hour made a difference. I asked for a number to speak to someone in corporate... he gave me an automated contact. I insisted he give me a number to a person... he refused. I cussed out of frustration at this lack of service..."there has to be a@&$)&@$ person I can speak to about this. He said I should leave and I did. Looked up corporate... got a person... who after I asked to speak to a person connected me to the same automated line. Menards has NO service to give you immediate attention when it is needed. This is complete and unacceptable disregard to customers. They lie about having REAL customer service.
I purchased my house in IL in August of 2022. I opened my Menards account shortly there after. My house in Virginia Beach had already sold. I ordered several things from Menards that were delivered to my house in IL. I purchased some column wraps for $2000 & somehow my Virginia Beach, VA address got uploaded into their system. I did not check the address for shipping since Virginia Beach does not have a Menards & all my previous items had been shipped to my IL address. The $2000 columns got shipped to Virginia Beach. My previous house was for sale again so it was an issue to have 6 large boxes blocking the walkway. I contacted Menards.com which you can only do through email & they told me it was my problem. I sent 2 subsequent emails to no avail. I paid less than $60 to have FEDEX pick it up and ship it to my house in IL. That $60 has ensured that I will NEVER shop Menards again for anything in my fixer upper in IL. You lost out on 10's of thousands of $ over $60. Did I mention I am a retired Navy veteran originally from WI? Yeah, my family knows, too. Way to go Menards, you just lost A LOT of business.

Went in today to pick up premix today at St Ann, Mo. Cs said someone would bring it to me. I asked how as three was no one in sight in the yard. I then said I would go get it myself and she did not say anything else. 1st shed was lumber #2 and the employee was busy stocking insulation and could not give a rats $#*! that I needed help. 2nd shed was lumber #1 and rhe employee directed me to a garage door next to pickup and said "drive in and they will help you". I did so and nick offered help. I returned to my vehicle to wait when some angry white man that had refused to help me on a prior occasion, telling me it was a self service warehouse that time, began berating me about being inside. He said customers were not allowed because it was a liability and that there were signs; I didn't see any. I advised him I had been told to drive in so he asked some random guy walking by if he had said that. Of course he did not, it was the guy in lumber #1. When I put my car in reverse to pull out, nick was behind me so I put the car back in park. Meanwhile, Mr "self service", continued to yell at me until I blew and responded with a slew of cuss words. This brought the entire staff in to berate me and refuse me service. Had he simply asked me to exit the garage and wait for me to do so, that transaction would have been completed easily. Instead, they refused me service because I made what they perceived to be, mistake. Sad state of affairs in customer service at this store in the pickup area. My order which was refused to me by them, still shows as fully delivered as I write this

I Oredered a Simple Product online and Didn't get it. They sent me something I Never Ordered. Now they want me to take Pictures of a Product that I Never Ordered and return it before they will send me the Product that I did Order and Paid for. Scamer Rip Off Artists. Menards are Crooks!
It's a good thing the store isn't closer to me. In Menards I go crazy. In Menards I am like a kit at Christmas or in a candy store. Love everything about it.

We Ordered new countertops from Menards 3/01/22. We ordered 4 High Resolution countertops for our kitchen. The company who manufactured the countertops sent us cracked, chipped countertops. Quality very poor. We were told to use the repair kit to fix issues. Really? So Menards did Reordered new countertops several times. After we complained numerous times because those came to us with the same issues.? The countertops company Quality control. Does anyone check over the workmanship of the countertops before they are sent out as completed orders? Menards kithchen manager acts like they are doing you a favor with reoders. Menards will try to work out the issues up to a certain point but will not cover additional installation charges from the guy who you hired to install the countertops. So far we have had 5 returns on certain countertops due to issues. 5 months later, project still not completed. And to finally finish the kitchen remodel. We still have to keep paying the installer more money. 3 weeks later... still at a stand still! Hate to mention the cost of how much money we have spent on the remodel job! Its sad! All I wanted was new countertops! Thats all. No refund either! No refund on our credit card until we bring back all flawed countertops. Are you kidding me! You basically are stuck with a worthless order. I cry over and over! This Sucks!
I bought 15 items and Menards sent me the wrong items of half the order.

Placed a special order for a large window with two openings took 8 weeks to get the window wich is understandable with Covid 19 but it showed up with no screens, had them installed with a promise from Menards they would get the screens for me 3 weeks later no screens and a total run around from Menards on what has happened to my screens for this window. At this point looks like I'm out of luck on this with no window screens ANY ONE doing a special order on windows check them for screens before you leave pick up they will not get your screens and change the story on what's going on every time you call to check on them Springfield Missouri East store shoppers beware of this!
Went to menards on Saturday ordered countertops for my home. Got to the register and they double charged me for one item good thing I had not paid for it. I told the lady at the register it was wrong so she called a girl over to cancel the order. One gentleman was nice enough to get it straightened out with. Left the store was going to go to dinner and the people in delivery called and said I never paid for my delivery. I explained to him that I did and paid cash the gentlemen says according to our records u didn't so I said I would go home get the receipt and bring it to menards.10 minutes had gone by and some lady called and said she found the receipt first of all I hate being called a liar. So we went back to menards had a question on my receipt and the same girl that canceled out my order at the register was the girl they called to help me. Her attitude sucked she should not be working in customer service when I questioned the bill she says and I quote what do you want me to do that's not my dept.Ok then get someone that could help me she was so rude and I am done shopping there. I spent over 900.00 dollars in countertops and that's how they treat people. This was at the store in waterloo iowa. I worked customer service for 9 yrs and I wouldn't treat people like that.
I purchased this at menards on Chuckwagon drive. They made the purchase easy, I picked it up at the store. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Menards is the place to go.

Menards treated me very dishonestly in both word and deed. They overcharged me for my countertop.
They refused to give me my $265 rebate and basically ignored my inquiries with unresponsive answers. And they owe me for the Small Claims Court filing. Filing a action in the SMALL CLAIMS COURT did get their attention. They offered me $260 before the court even heard the case.
I accepted the partial payment. Next, they tried to get me to sign a nondisclosure statement making sure no one would hear how the SMALL CLAIMS COURT got their attention. I refused that so I could pass this information on. (It is Case No.
2018 CVI ******* in the Franklin County (Ohio) Municipal Court).
Shame on you Menards one of the biggest stores in the USA they charge 5$ Extra for track rent on the weekend. Why just because it's weekend they actually stealing 5$
Order siding a month ago still no siding got told it got shiped out 7 -29 - 2020 told today it will get shipped out 8 - 21 - 2020 I need my siding losing money every day I don't have it
Took my order on line, processed the payment and failed to deliver the goods. Going into the 3rd month and still no product, no credit and definitely no support. Buyer beware
