I am used to shopping at Lowes or Home depot, both 15 minutes from my home. But now I drive 35 minutes to Menards. Why? How about being able to find a person when you need help? And that person generally knows the answer. Their wood is head and shoulders above the other two and is also cheaper. I recently needed a single 4x4 to finish up a decking project. Menards was a dollar cheaper, the post was better, and I got an 11% rebate on it. Did I actually save money driving an extra 20 minutes? No. But sooner or later it becomes the principle of the thing.

I drove an hour to try to pick up an item listed on "Ray's List." The snotty employee snorted when she brought up the listing and basically said I shouldn't expect to find it in the store because it was listed over a year ago. Apparently there's no system remove items from the list once they've been sold. What a joke.

I go into Menards to help my parents load some drywall. I don't wear a mask like normal no one does in my small town. The store is in Effingham, Il. The employees are not even wearing the mask properly. As in on the neck or barley covering mouth and definitely not covering their nose. So we get our drywall and go to check out. The guy was super nice cracking jokes until a lady came up and asked if I had a mask. I said no then she said something and I asked her what? I couldn't hear her due to her mask. I then said no thank you cause by now I still had no clue what she said the second time. She threw a big fit turned back to the other 2 girls, one behind the counter by the exit doors. Demands the cashier not to proceed to check us out cause I'm not wearing a mask. They hold my parents stuff hostage. I said I'm not even buying anything and I'm not with them. (I'm in my own car) and I just came in to help load, so why would you hold their stuff hostage if you have a problem with me not wearing a mask. Like why wait until someone is checking out to even bother them? So I have to leave in order for my parents to get their items. There logic isn't there cause you let kids not wear masks who can get "Covid" and have your employees not wear them properly. You lost me and my family as a customer now for those 3 girls who wanted to be snobby about it instead of nicely asking me to leave. Guess Menards likes the Nazi police, that's exactly how those girls I'm sure who are "supervisors" acted.

SAVE BIG MONEY! HAHA you purchase the items then have to send in REBATE that you never get and if you have to have one resend due to their incompetence, they charge you $6. I have been waiting on over $500 in rebates the last 3 months and says they still haven't received the receipts.

Drove 45 minutes from jobsite. Bought 2 pine solid doors 28".
Get to jobsite to install them,.they are 24"! Took them back next morning, told manage the stickers on them say 27 13/16 (28") bet actual size is 24". Someone labeled them WRONG.
3 hours + of my time and gas, and he said he can exchange them but NO REBATE OR DISCOUNT fo THEIR SCREWUP?!?!?!?!?!? Asked for number to regional office, called while there and cannot speak to ANYONE! FILE COMPLAINT BY MAIL OR FAX?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
AMERICA SHOULD STOP BUYING THERE AND BOYCOT THEM AND WATCH THEM GO BANKRUPT AND SHUT DOWN. WORST STORE EVER.

I needed to return and refund two items that I bought online from Menards. When the items arrived, it was immediately apparent that one of the items was defective, so I used Menards website to request an RMA and return shipping label. Jess V. in Menards Online Customer Service researched the purchase, and quickly facilitated my receipt of a FedEx Return Label. During the brief interim period between my request and my receipt of the return label, I discovered that the second item I had received was also defective. Both of the fragile items, Black Flag "bug zappers" had apparently been severely jarred during shipping. The tube in one of them was completely dark, and the tube in the other one flickered and buzzed. I replied to Jess V.'s email, requesting an amendment to the RMA, which would enable me to return both items with the label I had already received. Jess V. quickly accommodated my request to change the RMA, from 1 item to 2 items, so I could return both items in the original Menards shipping box, using the return label I had already received. I am very pleased with the excellent customer service provided by Jess V., and I will definitely buy from Menards whenever possible.

Menard's is a very customer-oriented business. Buy with confidence.

I'm a general contractor who spends at least $70,000 a year to be treated poorly by these employees, I was sold shingles that were not in stock, tried to flag down the forklift driver that ignored me twice, that was racing around on the forklift, finally got ahold of another forklift driver and he told me that the don't have the shingles, I told him the situation, and that driver said quote: you can go spend my money elsewhere, then tried to leave the lumberyard and the gate keeper wouldn't let me leave until I signed my paperwork on materials I didn't take,so I finally get back inside talked to the manager she got an attitude after I told her the situation, so I will definitely take my money elsewhere

Will NEVER shop here again, forced masks on my children, if we weren't picking up an item for an elderly family member, I wouldn't have spent a dime. Screw Menards.

When Menards came to my area, I had been a loyal Lowe's shopper. I checked out menards on several items, never seen any deals that I couldn't get at Lowe's. When they started the 11% rebate that kind of caught my attention. When I had a few projects to complete, I figured I could spend 1500-2000$ then get a couple hundred dollars to jump start my next project. Problem is, every time I spend 1500$ then send in my rebate coupons, I never get the dam rebate check! They act like it's no big deal, but to me it is. All this 11% promise is, a dam scam. They once told me they never received my receipt, then they tell me they sent it out, then the next time I call they tell me they don't have records of me qualifying for any rebates. It's a scam. Unless my mailman recognizes the envelope and is stealing it. If that is the cases, then they shouldn't send out an envelope that everyone that sees it knows what it is. I did get one once for like 12$, should have had one for 75$ weeks before getting the 12$ one. I sent in a 900$ receipt in may, and if I haven't gotten the rebate for that by now, I'm guessing I can kiss that 100$ rebate check goodbye as well

I've shopped menards several times and was told I could get an 11% rebate if I fill out and return their rebate form. This is a scam they out source this rebate to a company that does not fulfill there promo then if you even photocopy this form and eventually get someone to help u they say that it was lost misplaced or not received they assure u that they are taking care of this matter for u but only do so to satisfy your displeasure with this scam actually they don't even do this Guss what still no rebate this is not the place u should shop for any needs there are other places to shop Home Depot and lows are a lot more consumer friendly they don't lie to u to get u to shop their stores they both offer on the spot discounts and have many helpful employees on the floor to help u find what u need. Thanks menards but no thanks you lie Too and cheat your customers I'm good but I won't b setting foot in any of your stores under any circumstances ever and if u come up in conversation I will tell the truth your stores suck wish u could disappear like Kmart and toys r us u wouldn't b missed by me that's for shure

I go to purchase 6 pieces of OSB 3/4" T& G. Way at back of store. The 200 day no sand. The store clerk tells me I have to order it none in stock. Ok I tell him give me 500 day no sand osb which cost $8 more a sheet. Get my order go to front of store pay. She tells go around back, the security guard tells me go in line call # for service and they'll help you. Nobidy answered phone or came. Final I get outta my truck to look for someone. Guy comes he tell me go inside that building to get my sheets of osb. Get inside nobody at all around to help. I realize I see 4 stacks of the less expensive osb. The guy finallly shows up. I tell him this is what I really wanted. He tells me go all the way back inside get a return, go all the way to the back of the store reorder go check out, go all the way around back start the same process over with security guard. I said no thanks just get me outta here. Load my 6 sheets proceed to leave past the security guard and she checks my paperwork and looks at the sheets in back of truck to make sure It was correct then ask me to roll my back windows down in truck to make sure I wasnt stealing anything. Now 25 min later I had the more expensive wood and total feeling like a humiliatingThief. The worse experience getting wood ever at a big box store. NEVER WILL I GO TO MENARDS AGAIN. MENARDS SUCKS. Thank you for Lowes and Home Depot.

Why is this business still using 1950-ish turnstiles? As I walked through one at Menards recently it "stuck" as I was going through and stabbed me in the pubic bone. The pain was excruciating and went down my leg like a lightning bolt, also caused a very painful bruise. I reported it to the manager so they could fix it. He made me fill out an injury report. The next thing I know, I'm getting an insulting letter from their lawyers that basically said there is nothting wrong with their turnstiles and I'm obviously the one negligent (summarized, not exact wording). I didn't ASK for anything from them, yet they want to make sure I feel like an idiot so I won't dare try and sue them? Sheesh! So I began looking up this company and their history, turns out they have fought against (and lost) injury lawsuits that they were clearly at fault for (one older woman tripped over an employee-abandoned cart and lost seven teeth!). The founder is incredibly shady and they have more complaints/1 star reviews in the last year than almost any other big box store (mostly for nazi-ish mask enforcements and the refusal to allow children in their stores). I wouldn't have come here to leave a review was it not for the unsolicited, snarky letter I got from their rude lawyers. Menards FORCES their customers to walk through the turnstiles... why? I was forced to walk through one, it injured me and I then they insult me. Jerks.

We ordered counter tops twice, yes twice, wrong... even with templates that yes, we had to pay for.
Countertops came so warped we can hardly get them screwed in. Edges came different that how we ordered them, installation kit is missing items that we need. This was a horrible experience, and to top it off when we called in to complain and get the missing pieces, we were told that our countertops just couldn't have the edges we wanted. OK, well why weren't we told this when ordering! And that warped countertops, well they shouldn't have been we were told as they were just shipped. I DON'T CARE IF THEY AREN'T SUPPOSE TO BE, THEY ARE! Thanks for charging us an arm and leg for these horrible results that sent us, and not having any customer service on top of it all.

I am writing this review about an employee named Maurice that works in the floor and carpet department. I went to meards in dolton on Thursday to purchase some some flooring and some other things for my bedroom. I had needed some help so ask asked an associate for some help she told me that it wasn't her department but should would get us some help and boi did she get us the best employee that works there! An associate named Maurice came to help us. Maurice was so pleasant to work with and his knowledge about the products that we were inquiring about he knew all about them, Maurice was very patient and his customer service was off the chain. Maurice was very attentive to our needs he even made suggestions about different products that we could try. Maurice said that he had been working for menards about a year and a half and his knowledge about the products and his customer service skills were off the chain. Maurice is definitely an asset to Menards and he should be recognized for his great customer service! I've been to menards on several occasions and have never recieved the exceptional service like I recieved from him! Maurice definitely needs to be a manager and he should be given a raise! I don't believe No one can top the service he gave that day. Kudos Maurice I hope you get a chance to see this review and because of you I will shop menards! Thank you! Nice meeting you.

Went to Menards last June bought a brand new refrigerator got it home unwrapped it had a big dent in the side of it called them and they were only willing to give me $80 back on it didn't even make it a year in the fridge quit working on me I was a dummy and did not get extended warranty forgot lucky the manufacturer warranty was still good from the year that I bought it from I had 10 days to file on it they have been out about five times and can't seem to get it fixed I have been with out refrigerator since the middle of May and they told me it probably won't be fixed until November they have replaced every part in my fridge and an estimate of probably $1,400 more than what I paid for the fridge and they won't even give me a new one kind of depressing now I'm still without a fridge and paying my neighbor to store my food in his fridge this whole time because I shouldn't have to buy another brand new fridge because this one should have lasted more than a year Menards has lost my business the word is garbage pretty sad when I spend my hard-earned money to buy something brand new and find out that things a piece of s***

I was at the Menards on 2015 Walmart Dr, Warren OH *******. I was met with a rude customer service representative Bethany an older woman with blond highlights. I came in about a return or exchange on behalf of a stake light I had purchased from them but lost the box and receipt for it. She said she couldn't find the SKU and implied I did not purchase from there and that I was mistaken. I went to where I had bought the light from in the light area and found where it was sold, the SKU and sale price. She was too lazy to do her job and she just wanted me gone and out of the store so she wouldn't deal with me. When I went back to the customer service desk with the SKU information she came up to me and said "There is nothing I can do for you." When I told her I found the SKU she said "Well you're going to have to wait for me then". She was very rude and unprofessional, I ended up doing the return with a very nice girl named Emily with natural red hair. I spoke the the manager of this Menards and she said she will do more training. But I am appalled at how this woman treated me as if I was stupid and a nuisance. I would like for her to be fired because if that's how she is going to treat me that is how she treats other guests and if that's the case she should not be in customer service. I will continue to complain until she is fired.

I ordered 22 Trusses from Menards that were delivered on 04/08/22. I had all the equipment to get the trusses off the delivery truck and to set the trusses. After I unloaded the trusses which were bundled and placed them on the ground the delivery truck left. I began to set the trusses and noticed that several of them were bad. Also they were not the length I ordered and the overhangs were wrong. I could and did correct those mistakes and made things work. I had wood that was bad on 9 trusses that I would need to shore up I had to build rafters beside the bad trusses for stability.
I went to Menards to see if the would compensate me for their error, their suggestion was to send them back, and wait. So the labor I had paid for and the Ariel lift that I had rented would have been all for nothing in their eyes. I explained that this was not a project with hundreds of trusses that I could lay some aside and wait 2 weeks on replacements, this was one project that was planned to be completed in one evening with everything on site.
I am appalled by their gross lack of concern and the company wanting to fall back on some warranty fine print, the company does not seem concerned at all about simply doing the right thing and having some cooperate responsibility when clearly their product was bad.
If you order Trusses from Menards check every one, before the driver leaves, I for one have Just decided that this is one business that I will not spend my money in again. I was not asking for a complete refund or even a cash payment, I would have been ok with am in-store credit. I normally do not write reviews but this was just bad business to mew.

Make sure that the truck does not leave before you inspect the product, all of it.
