We live in a very rural area and therefore not a lot of options. We get good phone service and were excited to have the opportunity for internet. That part has been frustrating and disappointing. We only had the box about 3 mos when it quit and it took a week to get another box. The Internet is up/down/up/down. It's rediculous. Wish we had the money for a satellite dish.
I got a really great deal on a new prepaid plan and smartphone from metro pcs when I switched to them. Walked out of the store only $48 less with a new phone. However I was surprised to see that they were charging me over 18 dollars in additional "fees" on my $30 prepaid plan. I called their customer service department- (calling their customer service department is nearly impossible since they manipulate you to use their online customer service site for everything from payments to questions-!). When I finally found their customer care number and called it, I was told, "You do have the$30 plan but you have add ons of insurance and video voicemail. I said I don't need those any longer but they continue to add them on to my monthly $30 charge. So my monthly bill is coming out to $48.84. They are refusing to take the additional charges off my bill.
If there is a zero rate, I would happily give it! For years, I have been paying insurance for my new phone, now my phone is acting up and I made claim, the claim was accepted, the funny thing about this scam company is that after paying $200 detectable / service charge, they are going to replace my phone with a refurbished / used phone. Also, the payment for insurance increased (doubled). When I purchased my new phone from Metro PCS, they told me that if I purchase the insurance, they would replace it with a new phone if anything happens to my phone, 3 years later they say they can only replace it with a refurbished / used phone.
This scum / fraud company, please be careful!
I bought a phone charger from one of their stores while traveling in Gary Indiana the charger did not work so I tried to call the number on the slip receipt and it would not work I called for several days and finally called the main metro line they kept me on the phone for about an hour and they could not get through on the number either and then they hung up on me poor customer service. Try the number you will see it does not work and I am 500 miles away
In October last year, I went into a MetroPCS location located in Elizabeth NJ.
After 4 years with my Samsung phone, it started to give problem. So I opted for an upgrade. The lady at the MetroPCS, sold me a N200 phone5 G one plus. I went ahead and got the phone. After 2 months of having the phone, I started experiencing problems again. Not familiar with the N200. Base on what the lady told me.
And only to find out, they over charge me. It's a shame, of what these people can do.
But never me again... So people, all I can say is shop around first. Don't use any and every store that you see. And stick too what you know and where you go. Now I have to wait for my 6 months to get my upgrade again.
Messed up on my bill, didn't apply my money to my account. Some how it was applied to wrong account but didn't turn my son's service back on or give me a refund, been 4 days know & no sign of my money. Never heard of such poor service! Don't ever get service with them...

I will never recommend metro pcs to anyone because they have such horrible service. I was promised a 20 dollar credit for 3 months and I have not seen it yet. They are crooked and do not uphold their promises to customers.
I bought online an AO3 phone that arrived with no SIM card. After 6 days of dealing with their customer service I returned the phone to their warehouse in Texas as instructed. It took them 2 weeks to refund the price of the phone $106.49 after a lot of excuses. When I questioned them about the $50.00 monthly fee I had already been charged when I ordered the phone there was no reply. I have emailed them daily about said refund to no avail. They know that the phone was never used because it had no SIM card and still did not refund my $50.00 monthly fee paid at time of purchase. The CS is not helpful, they only repeat apologies with no results nor suggestions. I have even asked Metro to credit my account for one month so I can use it as payment on the other phone; they will not do it. I call this theft by the company.
So I'm not sure why but MetroPCS seems to get a bad wrap. I have been with them for 8 years and have always a really good experience.
Customer service is sometimes a bit of a long wait but other than that they have always been very accommodating and made sure I'm satisfied.
I very much like MetroPCS and recommend them highly.
Their plans and pricing are better than most and I always have service.

I work in Customer Service and this is hard. I think you should have her train all incoming employees. Her id is 4880. Be careful if bayou use this phone company! I have been a customer for almost 10 yes! After I moved, I changed my number started another plan. I had my phone replaced with a insurance claim in the past! Now all of sudden I needed a new phone, all good. But they increased my monthly rate! Said I never insurance, I have always included insurance. For some unknown reason he could not find it! So my monthly bill increased!
I went into the store because my phone would not cut on (mind you I bought the phone at this store in September of this year) they wanted to charge me $16 to transfer service to my old phone. Money I do not have at the moment. Metro pcs customer service informed me that it was up to the store to waive the fee. Of course they did not. This is a scam to get more money out of people. I have been with Metro pcs since 2003 in Atlanta GA. This 6 number code is a inconvenience to the customer. The metro stores are crooked and don't care about their customers. I live up the street from the store and I will go out of my way before I step foot inside this store again.
When you try to get help and call customer service, you are routed to the Philippines. They barley talk English, and refuse basic service to ACP participants. They will not help you resolve anything, you can explain something 10x and they will still think what you are saying is no true as far as credit. I was in the ACP program paying $20.00 a month for $50 worth of services. After five-to-six months my bill jumped back to regular cost (I did not change anything my name, address, service and etc.) I just seen my bill and called in to see what happened. From that point they had me paying $60+, and like a regular person you would say like me, "Look at what I've been paying, I have no reason to boot myself off the program, and ACP didn't do it, at this point who cares, let's just fix it, give me credit on my account and take ACP# again." No luck with common sense. I wonder if T-mobile customers also get routed to the Philippines also. Bad service!
Customer service Representatives with unprofessional mess both my account over towards me treat me like that was a nobody he should be fired I'm handicapped I'm too far from the store he took advantage of it
Been with metro for about several years and customer service just keeps getting worse. Even speaking with so call supervisors not worth it. Im over metro. All the misinformation and professionalism is awful. It took all day for me to get an explanation about my account. Spending money with this company is just not worth it.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I tried to pay my bill. Their system would not accept the payment. Now, my phone is off and they will not allow me to pay my bill for 24 hours. I am with out a phone for work and I have been hung up on twice. Please use any other service. THESE GUYS SUCK!
I have had this service for 3 weeks now and I regret ever swapping to it. I have not been able to send / receive text, nor have I been able to receive phone calls. I have called customer service 4 times since having this service each time doing network resets and nothing helps. I took it to my local store they seen what it was doing and told me that it could be a messed up sim card or phone and that it would cost me $20 to replace it. I asked why it would cost me the extra $20 if for 1) I was paying the insurance and 2) if it was a bad sim /phone they gave me, and was told "that's just our policy". Save your money do not waist your time on the worthless service and poor customer service. This company is a joke and now since I canceled my good service with Verizon for this crap I am stuck with!
I live in Maine. The only metro store is portland, two hours round trip. Much higher COV19 numbers then where I live. I cannot order a phone online even though the link says I can, it only shows phones with ‘go to store' option vs add to cart. The store never has my phone in stock. I added a new line just for a spare phone and cannot seem to even use the line. Customer Service told me to chat with virtual assistant because they have no idea why I cannot order online. If this is a joke, it is not funny. Today, I regret being a metro customer. My last two trips to store were nightmares. Bad information, nothing in stock, had to call customer service when I got home just to use device... it should not be so hard to get a phone... they have no way to leave feedback either.
Westgate MetroPCS Brockton, Massachusetts, manger promised to take money off my bill because one of his staff personal messed up. He has broken his word. So I feel that if he cannot be trusted so I am going to let everyone know that the Brockton store ran by a man who would make a great politician, promised you the world and break them all.
