Oddly enough, the website printed on the back of the gift cards gives a "404" error, but when I simply typed "movietickets.com" it worked like a charm. We selected our theatre, selected our tickets, and printed out the confirmation number. No problem at all. Yes, there are some added fees, but the total didn't seem too much higher than purchasing at the theater.
I bought a gift card multi-pack at my favorite big warehouse retailer. Went to use one today and discovered the cards have no PIN and therefore do not work on the Fandango site to buy tickets and there appears to be no other way to redeem them... epic rip off! Found no help searching online resources that might offer resolution. Its like this issue is top secret. To add insult to injury, the Fandango "help" link is so incredibly backed up (no surprise), I gave up after waiting 43 minutes for live chat assistance. Yep, I was that determined to resolve... however, "chat help" was a no show. NOT A FAN. Never "donating" my $ by default for these again.

This business is straight up fraud. They steal your money and you get nothing. You can't get anyone to answer the phone as it's a recording and then the recording asks you to message their customer service department. It's criminal what's going on. Straight up fraud. I am contacting my state attorney generals office. I'm out $50 bucks don't you be. Be smart, don't give a dime to the slime of a business.
So I purchased 4 of these gift cards from Sams club. It's a scam. Do not purchase! I went on the site, followed directions and it gives me an error message "This card is no longer valid" on all four cards. I've reached out to Sams and they won't help me because it's a 3rd party vendor, I wish I would have read these reviews prior to my purchase, If Sam's club can't honor my refund, then why are they even selling them!
Do not buy a gift card for anyone from movietickets.com. The recipient has to pay a surcharge! "Hey girl, here's a gift I got for you and surprise, you have to pay some!" How stupid is that? I mean, it's gifting 101. And no where on the card does it say you will be charged a surcharge. And guess what? Redeeming it online is the only way to redeem. No way out of the surcharge. So sketchy!
I have a gift card from this site that I have been unable to use for a week. The site is difficult to navigate, but after trying and trying I finally got everything entered correctly and the transaction failed. Several times. They respond to my email requests for help, but I still have not been able to redeem my gift card. It feels like a scam. Or else it's just the worst website I have ever seen.
The site charges 1.50 fee per ticket and apparently charges an additional dollar fir the "convenience " of wasting 35 minutes online trying to irder a movie ticket. Save your money and get a lowes gift card-- they can be used real time at the theatre.
Buying movietickets.com gift cards are a scam. You can NOT redeem them. There is no way to dispute, redeem or anything. If you buy one for someone they will be extremely disappointed because they will never get to use them.

I just bought movietickets.com cards from Costco - thinking this is an easy way to save a little money on movie tickets. I should have just bought the tickets at the theatre.
It takes at least 1 hour to book your tickets. With a few failed attempts along the way. Customer service line is also 10-25 min wait. Terrible.
I have issues every single time I am directed here to purchase tickets. I get through the entire process, enter all information, and then get a screen that says the transaction was unsuccessful. This is the 3rd separate occasion on which this has happened over the past year. When calling, they inform me that I must have entered my credit card info wrong. No, I double checked and it is correct. Oh, then I must not have closed my browser and cleared my cash between transactions. Yes, I did. Oh, then there must be an issue with communication to the theater. I should go to the theater itself to purchase my tickets. What is the point of that?!?
Seriously, this should be a lot easier, and have a much higher success rate.
I attempted to purchase an e-giftcard through their website. After hitting the "Submit" button, I was taken to a page that read, "The connection has timed out," but they charged my credit card immediately. I waited 12 hours to see if the gift card would be emailed, but it never was. I called the company twice. The first time I was told they would call me back after hearing from the company that processes the electronic gift cards. Six hours later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again. The second representative stated she could find no record of the purchase at all. I called my credit card company. The rep there said the pending charge may fall off, but if I see it go from Pending to Confirmed to call back and they will refund me, and process the chargeback to MovieTickets (or whomever processes their online purchases.) This was my first, and last time, using their website.
Not only did I have to download the app it cost me $25.30 to see for two tickets that should have cost $20. Gift card has 27 numbers to input perhaps the worst idea of a gift card anyone could give some one.
I joined Showcase cinema in Reading, which was great there was no charge. However when I come to log in it tells you your log in details are incorrect. I have reset my password to try to overcome this problem, 5 times now! And it still doesn't work!
I have been onto the customer service e mail for Movietickets.com which is the people this is linked to and all the response I get is that I am not registered. Even though I have a card that has been sent, and various new passwords from them!
Don't bother, you just have to make a trip to the cinema to pre- purchase tickets. It is a joke and their customer service is appalling.
I received gift cards for Christmas for my kids, every time I tell them to pick a movie so we can go I end up paying because the website is not available to set up account, how convenient. It's April now and I have tried several times. You can't use them at the register so I see this whole experience as a rip off! All the way around, can't use the two $25 tickets and end up paying when was expecting too. RIP OFF! To top it off you have to rate at least one star and they don't even rate that!
They took my card, but never gave me the tickets. Tried calling and first time I was on hold for over 15 minutes then it just logged me out. Called back and the answer just went to a not available. Called on a weekday and I was given a voice mailbox. Told to leave a message and when I left one, I never received a call back. They took the gift certificate money did not give me the tickets and I had to pay for them once I went to the movie theater. Ended up paying twice to see one movie. It has been a week and not one call or answer even though I have tried to contact them several times. The site said it would contact in 72 hours, but have not received any contact from the first time I left a message and it has been several days.
Have spent the last two hours trying to get tickets and every time I click "Next" it goes to some other page on the site that it totally unrelated to what I'm trying to do. Pressing the "back" button on the browser only shows a SQL error or an error with some other mechanism of the site. At one point, I finally found myself on a page where it asked for my card details to complete the purchase. Entered details and pressed "next" - it took me back to the main page of the site as if I had just typed the address into the address bar. What a piece of $#*! of a website. I find myself wondering how the hell they generate any revenue at all considering it has proved literally impossible to purchase tickets on their site. Trash. The devleopers should be ashamed. I teach web development and this site will now be my go to on what you should NOT do as a developer. It's time for them to shut down.
Awkward website, not client friendly nor is their customer service. Your seats will be auto selected for you and you may or may not be able to override that selection. In my case I was not able to do so. Called customer service and they told me there is nothing they could do for me - call your theater. After purchasing tickets you will then have to download their specific app on your phone in order to get your ticket(s) sent to you phone. The app download worked but I never received a digital receipt.
Be sure to book your tickets through Fandango.
Got to this site by accidents. Later found out that the tickets I bought were more expensive that if I'd bought them on the theatre's own website. Worse still I had to line up at the theatre to exchange my email voucher for tickets to enter. If I had bought tickets on the theatre's own website I would have waltzed right in with the ticket printed at home or on my smartphone. This is the sort of site that gives websites a bad name.
I have a bunch of Movietickets.com gift cards that are UNUSABLE. Every single time I log on, the site eventually says that there is something wrong and it cannot complete the process. This happens repeatedly until I give up or the wi dow times out and I have to start over. Do not ever buy their gift cards for someone. It is not a gift. They are literally just scamming people.
This company is a scam. 1st to stole a gift card balance on a card that had never been used. Took the money from my 6 year old's gift card and we got no tickets! Used the other gift card and was charged a processing fee! For what I did all the work on their crap site! Called "Customer Service", hahahaha! What a joke! Never again. Movie tickets is absolutely not a site you want to look at and purchase. Not all theaters are included, so your choices are limited. There is a fee on top of the purchase price; definitely not saving any money. Over half the time when we go to the site for purchase, it is not up and running. I'm not sure how they have remained in business. Just awful!
I read several reviews, most all were negative. I found one that was positive, so I tried paying for my movie tickets with the movietickets.com gift card. The website said my card number was invalid. There goes $50 down the drain!
But this site is sooooooo awful that it is compelling me to take the time to bash them. Even if you have a gift card, it isn't worth your time and frustration. All I wanted to do was buy Wonder Woman tickets and I have spent an hour trying to do so. Worst experience from a company ever.

Had a $7.00 balance on a gift card from a year ago. Was not able to log in. I called customer service, and got a new password. Logged in, purchased 2 tickets, and did not get my credit balance applied to my purchase. They seem to have the site rigged so it is difficult to use your credit. Eventually you get fed up like me and toss the card in the trash. They make a little more money, you lose a little more money. What a waste of time.
This is a complete scam! Can't purchase tickets and can't get an answer from their customer service site after 35 minutes. This is horrible! I'd give zero stars if the site would allow. I'm reaching out to the BBB.
