Had a $7.00 balance on a gift card from a year ago. Was not able to log in. I called customer service, and got a new password. Logged in, purchased 2 tickets, and did not get my credit balance applied to my purchase. They seem to have the site rigged so it is difficult to use your credit. Eventually you get fed up like me and toss the card in the trash. They make a little more money, you lose a little more money. What a waste of time.
I called customer service after trying to order online and use a giftcard. There was an error with the transaction and the website instructed me to call customer service, so I did! Ultimately, the lady on the phone had me holding for a while but I can work with that. The part that was awful was she kept directing me to do it myself online and I told her that I already had and that is why I was calling. She said "I don't know why you want me to waste my time" and at that point I had enough of her pushing me off and I said (working for chick-fil-a and Hilti customer service myself) "I don't know why you are being rude when I have been nothing but patient and calm" to which she responded "well I have other customers." Do I not count as a customer? Wow... she was nothing but short with me and would not listen to a word I said since she just kept telling me to do the same exact thing that I had already done and she was unwilling to take a course of action to resolve the problem.
I will NEVER purchase tickets thru this site again, I will NEVER purchase another gift card for this site ever again. We were unable to see the movie I purchased tickets to DUE TO A FIRE and the customer service could care less what the reason was, just that it was past the movie start time! I have accounts with Fandango and had issues happen before and they literally just put the credit amount right back in your account and ready for use right away! MOVIETICKETS.COM IS TOTAL CRAP DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM UNLESS YOU EXPECT LIFE TO BE PERFECT AND THAT NOTHING COULD GO WRONG IN SEEING THE MOVIE INTENDED BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT FOR NOTHING
I purchased TWO of the $25 gift cards at SAM's for 'date night with the hubs.' We got to the movie theater, and the 'confirmation code' was invalid! My gift card had been 'charged' and my 'user account' on movietickets.com showed I had purchased the tickets. Luckily for us, the theater manager comped us tickets when we showed him the gift card. Apparently this is NOT THE FIRST TIME this scam site has sent people to his place of business. Kudos to Lawton, OK Mall Cineplex Manager, Zach. Shame on Movietickes.com.
I purchased GC at Sams Club today. I was easily able to purchase two advanced tickets for 2 different moviesfrom AMC. I was able to enter my AMC account number to avoid service fee.
Full of ads on app
Very hard to redeem the GC, enter everything right and then shows unsuccessful transaction.
Poor customer service, very hard to reach
They charge more for the movie than the movie theatre does. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! IT IS A SCAM! Refunds are impossible. Youll just give yourself a headache if you buy tickets on this website. Save yourself the time and money and just buy directly from the theatre!
MovieTickets.com sold us tickets for a movie that was later cancelled. They did not notify us the movie was cancelled or would not refund our purchase fee. It is a gamble to use this site. Will not use them again.
Horse$#*! service. If u like prolonged agony, this service is it. Nm not even a service. They charge u to pay a bill. Utter joke. These bastards should use their own service.it's that much of a hassle. Stay away.
Nothing to say that hasn't already been said. My biggest complaint is the mandatory "convenience" fees. I understand wanting to make a profit, but 1. Can't use gift cards, *except* on movietickets.com branded website or mobile app, 2. Because of point 1, can't avoid the $1.50 convenience fee per adult ticket. It's like paying a fee to pay your bill. It's an organized shakedown. Know that if you purchase tickets for someone in the amount of $25, you're really giving them a card worth $20.50, assuming they purchase three adult tickets. Also... brush up on your typing skills, you have four - five minutes to complete your transaction, including page loading times. Also, the reserve seating thing... at theaters that have no method of recognizing or enforcing reserved seats? [smh] In case it's not obvious, I do not recommend this service.
If I could give this -10 stars I would! My sweet grandpa got me a gift card for my birthday and the card doesnt even work. COMPLETE FRAUD. They wont refund him his money, and I was hung up on by a rep. Im not a rude person either. Super disappointed and upset.
The tickets processing is horrible, you sign in and you are directed to submit your credit card information with no information about gift cards, very little time to finish your ticket order. Your better off buy cards from the theater.
Received card as a gift--took forever to get it to work, then was charged an additional 15%--Some gift! What a ripoff
I received 4 $25 gift certificates for Christmas and try to use them the next day. The movie was in a small theater that had reserved seats. After some difficulty and a few site timeouts that happened way too quickly, I was able to secure three tickets on the fourth row. I carefully followed the directions to check out and when it came time to enter my code as directed, I entered the 6-digit code that was on the back of each gift card. None of the codes on the backs of the cards worked. Frankly, I was looking for and expecting a much longer code, possibly with alpha digits as well. The only codes shown on the cards were these 6-digit ones. Nothing worked. I then went to Fandango and by the time I logged in there the only seats available were on the first row. At least this site work and I have now recovered from the headache I received from watching a movie from Row one. I will be taking these gift cards back for a full refund.
TERRIBLE! "Convenience fee" of $3.00 to buy tickets but using the site is the ONLY way they allow to use stupid gift card. On top of that a $25 gift card DOES NOT cover 2 adult tickets. You have to give credit card to cover the fee AND the less than $1.00 to cover two tickets and cannot use for concessions. WORST GIFT CARD EVER! COMPLETE HASSLE AND RIP OFF! GET ANYTHING ELSE BUT THIS RIP OFF CARD - SOOOOO LAME!
After emailing customer service back and forth 3 times, they refused to give me a refund for $30. I told them I live 3 hours away from the theater and could not go to the theater to get a refund, they still refused. I disputed the charge to my bank. NEVER USE THIS WEBSITE FOR MOVIE TICKETS.
Received 50 bucks in movietickets.com gift cards and theyre worthless... do not use their website and for sure never buy their gift cards... you are warned.
I thought this would make nice Christmas gifts for several families. So, I spent hours writing notes and card telling them to enjoy movies on us. Then I tried it out myself to get two tickets. The website did not work as the cards said. There was a convince fee for each ticket. I decided the parents would kill us for sending these worthless cards that are not usable as the site does not work as the instructions tell. So- Costco sold them them at $10.00 off for 4 cards. We had faith in Costco to sell reputable items but they are at huge fault and should be liable for selling bogus items that pretend to be "gift cards" when they are really trash. Good thing Costco has a good return policy.
I hope they will take all the gift cards in stock and send them back to the stupid useless company that just rips people off. Do not- Do not purchase this to give to anyone unless you dislike them and want to make them miserable.
Somehow I got on the site when I was purchasing tickets through the movie theater. Only offered 3 time slots which I thought was different, but I thought I was on the movie theater site. Ordered tickets- convenience fee was out rageous. After purchasing the tickets, I went back to the movie theater site. Many more time options to choose from. Purchased tickets through the real movie theater site,. Supposed to get refund from this site, will not refund convenience fee. Of course not... I want to make sure people do not use this site. I will be talking with the movie theaters today to let them know what they are associated with. I hope I can convince at least one person not to utilize this horrible excuse for a service.
Movie tickets is absolutely not a site you want to look at and purchase. Not all theaters are included, so your choices are limited. There is a fee on top of the purchase price; definitely not saving any money. Over half the time when we go to the site for purchase, it is not up and running. I'm not sure how they have remained in business. Just awful!
Answer: You have to process the purchase through movietickets.com instead. PS When I followed the web address printed on the back of the card, there was a "404 error," but if you simply type "movietickets.com" without all of the extra stuff, it works perfectly.
Answer: Call Fandango and ask them. Many people are saying movietickets.com gift cards do not work on Fandango. I wish you luck.
Answer: Try redeeming it through MovieTickets.com website. Select the movie, the showing you'd like and then check out as a guest. Look for the movietickets.com card option at check out. If you have a free Stubs member number, enter that as well to waive the convenience fee. Hope that helps!
Answer: I just spoke with Fandango Customer Service. We are connected to Movietickets.com but they do not honor Movietickets.com gift cards. Fandango has their own gift cards and you must contact Movietickets.com to activate. I also just called Sam's and the guy that answered the phone stated to call Walmart at 1-800-Walmart. So, I called Walmart at the 800# and spoke with lady by the name of, Madori, she stated that Sam's has their own Customer Service phone # 888-746-7726. Andrew at Sam's 800# stated to go to Sam's Customer Service desk and they will look up your purchases. If you purchased the gift cards within the last 3 years they will refund your money. Andrew stated that they will look at removing the gift cards from on-line and in store purchases. :)
Answer: You have to use it on movietickets.com instead. When I tried the website as printed on the back of the gift cards, it says "error 404," but when I simply typed "movietickets.com" without the extra stuff, it worked perfectly.
