I had my own sketchy information for my family history and was hoping I could see records etc to help me get more information, but No. I have spent 2 days building a family tree with information provided by me! MyHeritage just copied what I have provided, and I got absolutely nothing in return - just occasionally confirmation that my information given to them was correct. My partner re-activated a competitor site which he'd used in the past and in just 5 minutes I got more information than I got in 2 whole days. I would not recommend MyHeritage - a complete waste of time. There is a close competitor site which is infinitely better... go for that one!

I got the DNA-kit 7 months ago, and sent it back in January. I didn't hear anything back at all. I contacted support and it turned out it got lost in the transport. They offered to send me a new one right away without any additional charges.

Emailed them within 2hrs (it was 2am EST when the charge went through) and no response as for refund.
The customer service line is an endless loop
Total waste for information you can get on Google for free.

It's just a way to get your information and get money from you

I signed up for this 2 years ago and canceled the auto renew. So a couple days ago they renewed it. 299.00 you can't get them to answer the phone. I don't know how they get away with just ignoring customers. It is terrible customer service.

If you get a trial and decide to not continue, be very sure you actually canceled. I emailed requesting a refund and for some reason they're requiring me to talk by phone "to help me with my request." My request is very simple, the kind normally settled even with a chat bot. I want a refund.

Also, when I initially contacted Support, I was told I would receive an answer in 5-7 days. That was not the case and I'm having to constantly follow up with them to get someone to be helpful.

Started a 14 day free trail on the 04/07/23 and cancelled it on the 05/07/23. Last night I get a notification from my bank saying I have been charged £114 for my heritage! All day today I have tried to get incontact with someone about a refund but no luck! Reading by other reviews on Google its not a uncommon problem! Worst company ever!

I was stuck looking for an ancestor so I began My Heritage free trial, found my lost ancestor elsewhere, didnt cancel soon enough now stuck with 161.00 for a year. Only to discover if I want any information on my ancestors I need to pay 130.00 extra for data and 200.00 extra for more complete family info. Imagine my disgust. Plus Family Search is completely free and very helpful. Dont get sucked in on free trial! This site will only help if you pay $ 492.00

I bought two kits, one was correctly activated and assigned to me, the other one my husband created his account and "activated" under his name, but no kit was assigned to him, neither he received any emails by the time of the activation.
The samples were sent to the lab, but i only received notifications of mine that is currently being analized, and his sample appears in my account but with no progress, neither receiving notification emails of each step eg "sample received by the lab" and so on.

I would like his sample to be correctly assigned to his heritage account, because that was already sent to the lab and no updates were made by myheritage.

To clarify, when DNA results are ready, the DNA Manager and the person to whom the kit is assigned (if they’re not the same person), will receive a notification to their registered email address. The email includes a link to the DNA results available online.

This should be directed to you and your husband's account I understand that you have had difficulty with tracking both kits. In order to assist you with this, I may need more details. I have sent you a personal e-mail explaining this in more detail, please reply to that e-mail so I can help you with this issue as soon as possible.

I created account there one month ago, and choosed a free subscription which is shown in my account. Then I bought two DNA kits there. After one month they charged 121.77 euros from my bank account. I didn't make any purchases or subscriptions from MyHeritage that day. So, they stole money.
As for now, I don't know if they will stole more money, as they have my bank card details. And for sure I can't trust data they provide, as I see their main goal to stole money from customers.

The response time to my enquiry about the subscription cost was too long. My question was not complicated and should have been responded to more quickly.
I have been billed for my subscription at a rate higher than quoted in the response, $409 vs. $389 CAD, and I find this increase unacceptable.
A refund of the difference would be appreciated.

My adopted daughter and I went to MyHeritage.com to explore membership for her. They ask you for information (names of parents), ask you to import a family tree from sites like Ancestry.com, etc. Kind of hard to do if you're adopted and don't have any of this information. Nowhere on the MyHeritage site did we see the option to simply join and get a DNA test kit. They did offer a trial membership, but that required giving the same information about parents, etc. too. Ancestry.com on the other hand was very easy to join. We considered MyHeritage.com based on reviews saying that it gives more information in regards to European matches. Oh, we also tried contacting MyHeritage Support. You either have to log in as a member, or create a membership using the information that an adopted person probably wouldn't have. No way to actually contact someone.

Tip for consumers:
Sticking with Ancestry.com for now. If MyHeritage.com ever makes it easier for someone who doesn't have information about their families or ancestors to join or easier to at least ask a question, we'll consider them again.

After reading my reviews (the reviews really do have impact), myheritage.com refunded the balance of my subscription fee. I will give it 3 stars because it fix things -- but took a lot of work on my part to get them to act.

Wouldn't refund my money

I have been a myheritage member since 2013. In Feb'22, I paid $157 for an annual subscription. I never really used it and just forgot about it. Then on 2/19/23, a pre-authorization charge of $316 from myheritage.com showed up on my credit card. I immediately went to the site and turned off the plan. And I called their support line to cancel, but couldn't reach them. So I left a message that I had cancelled my subscription and wanted the $316 charge reversed.

I called a few times more and finally reached a person on their support team on 2/27. I explained the situation and that I wanted the $316 back. The person first offered a 10% discount. I declined. Then he offered a 50% discount and again I declined. He said that's all he could do. So I ended up getting charged $158 for this year when I really don't want it anymore.

I ordered a genetic test and everything was fine. I received the information and i am satisfied with it. Their were always in touch and answered my questions, even helped me solve some problems with the shipment. But the problems started when I ordered health reports for an additional fee. I haven`t received those reports for a long time and no one responded to my inquiries (I also wrote to additional e-mails that i found on the internet like rafael, nikolina, etc.). Now i have these reports,but it took much longer to get them than the page says and for a long time I didn't know what was going on and how long I would have to wait

I purchased a DNA kit for my daughter's birthday in August. On 10th September I was robbed of £114 through my PayPal account for a service which I do not need or want. I keep trying to contact support for a refund but am getting absolutely nowhere.
I am an elderly pensioner and cannot afford this amount. This is NOT a reputable company. Its a scam - do not have anything to do with MyHeritage. Its set up so that people are conned into taking a subscription. They claim they will help you to get a refund but nothing happens. I don't think these so- called Support people actually exist or if they do they are totally incompetent. Why do I have to give a one star rating? I would like to give minus five stars.

I ordered my DNA kit and received my results in a timely fashion. Not sure if these are legit now though. Anyway, a few days later I got a notification that I was charged $170 for a subscription that I did not sign up for. I immediately called to get a refund. I spoke to someone who said that they would have someone from the billing department call me within 24 hrs. They didn't. I called the next day and got the same story, I am currently on hold to attempt tp get a hold of someone to no avail. I feel like this is a scam. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I tried their two week free offer. Without warning they charged me over 450 Israeli Shekels without informing me. I tried calling. There is no one to speak to in their Israel headquarers. Emails go unanswered. I will file a complaint with the police for fraud.
