MyHeritage bombs his users with hundreds of copied mistakes in other users trees and the duplicating of mistakes never ends! As a starting user you haven't the possibility to communicate with other users, so you cannot tell them how wrong the information is and you cannot tell anybody that the proposed matches are mismatches. MyHeritage continues to give you info with which you cannot do anything because you have to upgrade your free account to do that, but that costs you a lot of money. Other good genealogy sites, p. E. geneanet.com offer better possibilities for free! Even Geni.com, owned by MyHeritage, offers info for free. The so called sources for which you have to pay a lot of annual contribution money are often very wrong, not real sources or real matches, but just genealogysites of other users with uncertified information, mostly free to get on other sites as FamilySearch, Geni.com, Ancestry.com, Geneanet.org, WeRelate.org, etc.
Why are somany persons working with MyHeritage, are they so stupid, or am I so smart?

See https://www.myheritage.com/names/joshua_reynolds got to laugh or cry at this crap. First of all Samuel Reynolds had 11 children all up, do not know where you got the extras from, and please read Sir Joshua Reynolds Wikipedia entry see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Reynolds you have the wrong birth place for his mother, He had five sisters not three, He never married and had no children and then you have the stupidity to put
Trusted information source for millions of people worldwide, This profile has major mistakes in it. Get this Genealogical Garbage off here. I am sure if Richard Wendorf saw this he would roll over laughing see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wendorf He is probably the worlds foremost living expert on Sir Joshua Reynolds
To My Heritage,
Prove what you have in this profile and by this I mean the Genealogical Proof Standard, (You do know what that means i hope) and not a link to another unsourced My Heritage tree. If you can not prove it, get rid of this crap. To see why this profile is genealogical garbage go to the Profile of Sir Joshua Reynolds over on geni

The people who complain about auto renew are right; once they get your credit card they will bill you forever; I believe they hide this in the small print and fail to notify you adequately before your subscription is up so you can do something about it. They also don't tell you that you can just opt out of renewal; instead they call it "cancel my subscription." Canceling would be fine if you got your money back (or some of it) but if you know you will not get a refund and you cancel something you've already paid for, you would think your money is wasted since you've already paid it so why cancel. Cancel anyway (I THINK you may still get to use the subscription for the term you have paid for). I don't care, I still wouldn't use this website for anything and again this is deceptive. No decent business needs to auto renew any subscription, especially without your explicit permission. If you want to renew, you should be able to choose to at the time it expires or later; otherwise it should lapse. My recommendation if you want to use them (which I don't understand why you would, their information is either worthless or mostly available for free elsewhere) I highly recommend you use a temporary credit card so they can NEVER BILL YOU AGAIN. This was a very expensive lesson for me; I hope others can learn from it. The BBB should give them an F rating. The state they are headquartered in should investigate them for shoddy business practices.

Dear D D,
Thank you for your review here on SiteJabber.

Also within it is mentioned that after the initial purchase date you thereafter will be charged annually to maintain the subscription and that you can review your subscriptions anytime via your Account > My Purchases page. Within the My Purchases page you have the option to cancel the annually recurring subscription.

The animation and colorization of photos is great but you don't get use of these at Premium level :(
Tip for consumers:
Don't expect to use the animation beyond a small number of times like 5 times I think before they try to upsell you to the top level and say you can't use them anymore unless you pay more so that sucks otherwise I would be praising them for the superior quality they offer it truly is fantastic till you run out of the sparse number of times you may use it then they want more money, too expensive no thanks there will be another site one day I'll wait...
Products used:
Tried to use the premium level after trying out the FREE level but found that the only level that lets you continue to use the colorization and animation is the top tier $299.00 level

I want to share my experience of working with MyHeritage.
I am a client of the company since 2010. Repeatedly appealed to the company's employees for help. Basically, these were requests related to the software product itself. There was no such thing that I was refused help.
I especially want to thank the staff for the help they provided on synchronization. Since 15/10/2016, the synchronization of the photo failed. Within 10 months we, together with the company, tried to find the reason.
A campaign employee, Eden, was forced to contact me three times over a remote connection, on a computer. We spent hours analyzing. He made a file of my pedigree and 2GB of the archive downloaded to my computer. In the laboratory, I analyzed everything and came to the conclusion that it was not a matter of refusing a software product.
Eden himself deleted my pedigree page and recommended me to download from the archives of the genealogy that I kept, half a year before the date of the refusal. All worked, the failure disappeared. I lost files created in the last 0.5 years, but the program has earned.
I want to say that the Premium customer is profitable. You have millions of clients and you found it possible to work many times and personally with one of them. Honor to you and praise. You can be trusted.!
Many thanks to all the staff of the campaign. Health to all of you and good luck!

Dear Al,
Thank you for your review here on SiteJabber.
Within your FTB software you may need to adjust the setting to allow the opening of your family site when you start the software. To do this you will need to open your FTB software and then click on the grey tool bar Tools > Options. When the window opens then click on General in the left menu and you will then see the option "Show my sites page on startup". You will need to click on this once and then to the right use the little black arrow and select Yes and then click on the green OK.
This will ensure that when you start your FTB software from the desktop icon your family site will also be opened for you.
Trusting this has proven useful to you.
Kind Regards,
Dean,
MyHeritage Team.
I started my family tree in 2009 with the FamilyTreeBuilder (FTB) from MyHeritage. Soon after that, MyHeritage introduced a wonderful seamless mutual update between FTB and the family site. Such a combination of the genealogy approach (FTB) with the Wikipedia-type gathering of information from the family-site members makes MyHeritage the best family-tree site in my opinion.
MyHeritage also publishes a good newsletter. In its August 2015 issue, an article by Thomas MacEntee «The Power of Story: Yours, Mine and Ours» tells us to collect family memories and publish them on the family tree. Yet, at about the same time, MyHeritage changed the family-site design so that family memories (articles) can no longer be published. Worse still, the already published articles can no longer be accessed. Already in 2014 a related feature was disabled; commenting the family articles by members of the tree. Both the articles and their commenting are important for the family-tree members to keep some degree of contact that often is limited to the interest in genealogy, common ancestors and the places they lived in.
MyHeritage is a good genealogy site. It also has an able and devoted support team that offers a quick and effective help with software questions.

If you value your hard earned money, do not spend it with My Heritage.com. In January, 2016 I responded to an offer to try the site "free", then was charged. I called and said I wanted to cancel and have the money refunded, since it was billed as a free trial. THIS year, I was charged AGAIN. The reason straight from the representative (when I was finally able to reach one)? Since I did not go back and manually cancel last year, I was charged a "renewal fee" this year -- a renewal fee for the service I had already told them I did not want! Apparently TELLING them I wanted to cancel was not enough! Someone, for the love of all that's holy, please explain that one to me! The rep that I spoke with told me there was nothing she could do, I would have to wait for another rep to call me. I explained to her that I would only be available after 5 to take calls; she assured me the note was in my file and someone would call. Oh, they did - twice, at 10 in the morning when I am not home. I have tried unsuccessfully for the past three days to reach someone -- if you look through the hundreds of unsatisfied customer reviews you'll see how it went -- disconnected calls, partial refund even though the charge was unauthorized, voice mail responses of "unavailable, call back later" even thought their site says they are available until 7 pm... Just one last cautionary piece of advice: DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD EARNED DOLLARS BECAUSE THEY WILL STEAL THEM!

Dear Theo,
Thank you for your comments here on SiteJabber.
MyHeritage provides a platform for users to create family trees by entering the information themselves in to the family tree. This information is then used in the SmartMatch technology.
This technology matches family trees from all over the world to each other using the information that is entered (Names/DOB etc) into the specific family tree by the family site and tree owner.
The ability to confirm or reject the SmartMatches that you are presented with is a Premium feature. The same is for contacting other site/tree managers.
Within your 'Privacy' settings of your family site you have the ability to turn off SmartMatching so that you will not receive any. This may be useful to you as a Basic user.
A lot of the resources that are available on MyHeritage are exclusive to MyHeritage. Other resources that are held by third party agencies require payment to view and use them.
Having said that should you wish to contact us to discuss your account then please do and we will be only too happy to help you.
You may reach us at support@myheritage.com at any time.
Kind regards,
Dean,
MyHeritage Team.
