I have joined this family history site recently. I have found aspects such as links to other trees very useful, other aspects more complicated such as correcting data incorrectly inserted.
However, today's adviser was Itai and was extremely helpful and patient, listening, taking me through and answering my queries helping me to correct errors. Thank you.

I recently joined My Heritage as a paid subscriber and I am so happy with it. I was sorry to see that there were so many complaints regarding their DNA reports. I did not take a DNA test so cannot comment on this. However, I managed to make a complete mess of my family tree on My Heritage. Being very 20th century, technology wise, I called technical service. Olivia patiently helped me correct my tree and showed me so many tricks. As many as I could absorb at once. As an added bonus, she helped me research a long deceased relative and I was able to find that he was on a Geni family tree already started by a relative in the "old country". I am excited that I will be able to add him to my tree and hopefully contact the Geni member on whose tree he is listed.
In summary, I need to say that My Heritage has opened a new world for me.

As a subscriber for several years, I had always considered MyHeritage an excellent genealogy site and easy to use. Recently I started to have difficulty syncing my trees. I emailed Customer Support and the next day Yoel contacted me but, after several attempts, we were not able to solve the problem by email. Yoel then suggested that we set up an appointment for him to communicate directly with my computer through "Team Viewer". Within 30 minutes he had the problem solved. It was very pleasant and rewarding experience and confirmed my good opinion of "My Heritage"

After waiting for more then 6 weeks I called customer support. It took ages for me to talk to an actual person. Luckily a friendly woman told me that my package probably never arrived in their lab so she would send me a new one. So again, starting the waiting game. Hopefuly everything wilm go smoothly from here on. Feeling sceptical.

Found some great pictures and links of some of my family members, but realised that there wasn't enough information on my family to start a family tree! After doing this I requested a refund and the response was extremely quick and there was no fuss!

Despite trying endlessly to 'track' to see if my DNA sample arrived it keeps informing me it hasn't despite sending it recorded mail weeks ago. Been impossible to speak to anyone from My Heritage and when I phoned just got an automated response telling me to go on their site and track my sample which I had done several time. GRRRR. Would be nice if someone actually responded. Not impressed with this service at all. Certainly won't reccomend or use them again. Disappointment as this was a gift.

I've asked about a situation with renewal and no matter how many times I asked if I understood correctly, every representative with whom I had contact was patient and understanding. And I have to mention how much information I've collected that I never had before. MyHeritage is the best!

Spent serious money with these people and they come back to tell me that I'm 24.1% Scandinavian, 10% Greek, and 2.2% West Asian. Well get this, my last name is Grigsby - sound English? Sure, they figured that out (63.7% English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh), but they said that I have NO Northern European. My Mother's maiden name is Vandergriff. Her Grandfather was a Dutchman that came to the US and married a full blood Creek Indian. (we have pictures!). These idiots show NO Northern European ancestry or any American Indian ancestry... if you could see my Mother, or her sister, or my Grandmother, you wouldn't believe how American Indian they look! This company is a joke! Do not waste your money on them and tell everyone you know to stay away from their scam!

I regret to find that you are unhappy with your ethnicity estimate.
There is actually a scientific reason for why a DNA ethnicity estimate will differ in between siblings and I would be happy to explain.
Each person receives 50% of his DNA from his/her mother, and 50% from his/her father.
The percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors are at the level of grandparents and further back (Great grandparents, etc.) Is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation.
Because the percentages of DNA a person receives from his ancestors at the level of second generation (grandparents) and further back is not necessarily divided evenly in each generation, it is possible that one great-grandparent may have passed on 3% of his/her DNA to his great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%.
This demonstrates why the probability of a person having only one pure ethnicity is very unlikely and why some siblings may inherit certain ethnicities, while other siblings may inherit the same ethnicity in another percentage, or even may not inherit this ethnicity at all.
Determining one’s ethnicity based on DNA is a relatively new field in genetics. Great advancements have been made in the past years, but there is much more to discover.
I can assure you that MyHeritage is on top of this and we will continue to work on improve our Ethnicity Estimate along with developing better tools based on your feedback, new scientific research and discoveries.

The customer service is better than Ancestry's, and way better than Family Search's. But I find their program more confusing and harder to use than ancestry's, and on a par with Family Search. The biggest problem is one I find on all three sites; information is posted, but when you check the sources you find that the "source" is another online tree. Information is posted without proper verification, which is why what is posted as my family tree is completely fraudulent before 1640. And, there seems to be no procedure in place to correct this. This is a huge problem, because I have a public tree, and somehow this erroneous information seems to keep appearing in my tree. I am so tired of removing the bad info and justifying my actions! If MyHeritage could help me correct this HUGE problem, I would happily give them 5 stars!

Payed for DNA test. Some 8 weeks later theyes claimed I was 54% British Irish. Lol as they say about most here. 0%Italian! When my entire mother side is 100% Italian! Wtf. This site cannot be doing real DNA testing. They simply use last name as guide and my last name is not related to me whatsoever!

Waited 2,5 months to receive the test box, ordered 3 units, 1 got lost on the way.
The declared value of the package was over 170 USD, which makes no sense for a plastic jar, and I was charged duties for customs.
This is the WORST experience I have had in a while. If you are expecting these as a birthday present, amazing way of getting disappointed.
I should have used 23andme or myancestry as I was suggested.
The shipping method they use is DHL e-commerce, which is famous for making packages disappear and taking loooong delivery times.
1 star, because I can't leave a 0 stars review.

First, my call was answered after being put on hold for about a minute. Normally, I am on hold for a long time. I didn't know why some relatives had a DNA tab on their profile & some don't. I was told that the ones who don't have the DNA tab have an account. The rep I spoke with was very helpful.

What a waste of $85. Signed up to a premium account only to find out the if you want to see the documents, you need to pay for the Data subscription. Not what I was told when I signed up.
15 mar 2017... Tried calling them, held for hours still no one to talk to. Left messages for them to call me. No one even bothered.
I even emailed them as a Premium account holder I should have "priority access" but a week later I still do not have any email reply.
16 March 2017... This morning I managed to get through to tech support. They told me they would get the sales rep to contact me... guess what... nobody has bothered calling me! I have now left 4 messages to the sales rep and I have sent two emails!
This is the worst customer service ever!

I love this website and the app and I use it across three platforms I had my family tree at MyHeritage for over 10 years.
I decided to invest more time in my tree and to upgrade my account into "premium" unfortunately I found out that "premium" did not have all the features that I was interested in so I called the customer care.
Customer care associate took my information and promised that somebody will call me soon and I did receive a call the next day they were awesome! Refunded the whole transaction and let me choose the "complete" subscription at a discounted rate. I received a great value of a package and exactly what I wanted out of my subscription!

It had been over two weeks since I had sent my kit to the lab. I was growing concerned with whether it had been lost in the mail or not. I called and waited almost no time. When I was greeted by the customer representative, I butchered her name trying to relay it back to her. She was extremely gracious and very clear on how to pronounce her name and where it had come from. This is after all a historical based company. I heard her thick Irish accent and, being Irish, I was embarrassed and interested to hear her clarify. She told me that the website does not always have accurate time tables for when the tracking says the lab work has arrived. The great part was that if it did go past a certain time, they would send me a replacement at no cost. I did not have to argue. I did not deal with a nasty response or have to get nasty myself. They immediately had a solution and it was more than reasonable. If ever you have to call their support line I hope you get Aoife, she was lovely.

My experience with myheritage customer support was excellent. Called on Christmas day, did not have "no" wait time, and my technician was able to resolve my issue in minutes. She was very helpful and pleasant to talk with. Wish all my customer service/tech needs were this helpful.

Eden was very professional and helpful when I had a question about downloading pictures from the web, to get them back to my PC, since I had a new install. It was a couple of days before the answer but they said they were in the middle of a large amount of downloading, which I believe was new customers. I like MyHeritage's tree builder and appreciate their customer support.

If I understand you correctly, your DNA kit was assigned to another person in your tree. If you have assigned a DNA kit to the wrong individual, you have the possibility to re-assign the kit the following way:
1. Log into your family site
2. Hover your mouse over the ‘DNA’ tab and click on ‘Manage DNA kits’
3. You will see the DNA file(s) that you have uploaded and/or the ones you have purchased via MyHeritage DNA.
4. On the right of each kit listed, click on the dots to see different options, then click on ‘Re-assign’:
5. In the window that pops up, type the name of the individual whom you would like to re-assign the DNA kit to:
6. Select the correct individual among the suggestions that come up
7. Make sure you obtained permission of that person to manage his/her DNA data, then check the box
8. Click ‘Save’
In doing this you can ensure that a DNA kit has been assigned to the correct person.

I spent 2 hours on hold during 4 attempted phone calls on 6/28. I was the next caller in line but a rep never answered. Calls that required leaving a message after the tone, I never heard a tone. Another hour on hold on 6/29. I finally found where I could send an email and as a result of sending the email my problem was resolved.

I forgot that my auto renewal was coming up for my complete plan because I missed the reminder email that they sent a month previous. Given that we receive a multitude of emails from the company it is really easy to miss. I had planned to cancel my subscription as my financial circumstances have changed for the worse. On the 26th of December I was charged $383.90 for the 12 month renewal and I contacted them immediately to let them know that I wanted a refund and to cancel the subscription. I have lost a lot of hours at work and I can't afford this luxury. They contacted me within 2 days but would not refund me the full amount due to the "terms and conditions". To their credit they did give me a partial refund and extended the subscription free of charge. However I am still unhappy as I feel they could very well have refunded the full amount. They should also consider sending more than one reminder email. Very disappointed.

I will not recommend anyone to use Myheritage. I have been a member since 2009 and a paid up premium member since Nov 2017 but have now been blocked and when trying to login am taken to another member of the families tree saying the Audoire site no longer exists. We have 1300 names on our site and I am getting emails asking why they can not access. The help and support have not contacted me about any of this all i am getting is an auto message saying they will get back to me.! This has been going on for weeks.

The response to my question was timely, and spot on and clear. As a result I am content to wait for improvements in the facility that interests me because I know it is coming. This test is awful. The information you receive is extremely general. It's a waste of time and money. Go with ancestry. I received more information from that DNA test and they also provide more resources.

I absolutely sympathize with your long wait time when I remember waiting for my own results.
Although DNA testing, in general, is a long anticipating procedure, your DNA kit tracking is indeed something to be concerned about.
I do know that there has been a slight delay in receiving kits that were sent to our lab around the holidays within the 2-month time frame because of the amount of traffic. It seems that everyone bought and sent their DNA kits at the same time for Christmas this year.
We are certainly aware of this and are working to resolve this as soon as possible. Each kit that is sent to us is processed carefully to ensure our DNA community gets the most accurate results.
