I have been using Myheritage for quite some years now and I am still quite happy with the interface, the evolutionof the product and the support I get whenever something is not clear or some function goes wrong. Genealogy research is a never ending job and I trust I will be able to go on with future updates as long as I need it.

I never really knew about my heritage. Basically, what I really knew, is about my Mother, and Father, and my two Grandmother's told me. Beyond that, I was in doubt. But I was told I was American Indian, a little German, and English. With the DNA it's really opened up a lot of things I never knew about myself. So now I know where I came from. This is the second time i have tried to activate my brother inlaws DNA. The first guy had me doing all kinds of things on my computer which wound up doing nothing. He said i would be contacted by e-mail that came in but again nothing. Today Patrick helped me & tried to activate it & found it wasn't my computer problem. He was extremely helpful & said he would send it along to the lab & they would contact me in 2 days. He was so nice & i believe him so i think everything will be ok & the nightmare will be over.

I have used my Heritage for many years, starting from scratch to find my family, and have now completed my research with over 5000 people on my tree.
Initially, it took a bit of getting used to and I often emailed MH support for answers to things that I`m sure were somewhere in the Help Manual, but staff always responded with courtesy.
My Heritage is extremely comprehensive, and in my opinion it pays to subscribe to the Research Data as well as taking out the Premium Membership if you are a serious researcher, which enables research to carry on in the background 24/7, thus saving going to individual websites and searching for the information you require.
I don`t consider it cheap, particularly if you live in a country that has bad exchange rates, BUT I do consider it good value
Most of us hate reading instructions, but spending time reading the manual every time you do something (until familiar with all aspects) will really pay off.

MyHeritage charged me an annual subscription fee of SGD 539.13, which I have problems cancelling the charge on my credit card with the company.
The company had made it essential to input my credit card details to start the DNA process and had offered me a free trial. They subsequently charged me SGD 500 after I had forgotten about the trial. I find It was pretty duplicitous after the customer service had ignored my request to refund me back my money.
SGD 500 is a considerable sum to me, and I urge you to think twice before purchasing the kit from this company.

I have now tried both Ancestry and Heritage and by far prefer Heritage so user friendly in my opinion
Also paying a premium price took me to ancestors I could never have found so quickly if ever! So very well worth it taking me back to 1500's

My family has resided in a small mountain village outside of Naples for over 300 years. My grandfathers a Hungarian nobleman his family ruled what was Transylvania and is now in Romania for over 1000 years. My DNA test came back 30% British and 30% Spanish it seems like it might have been contaminated by the people operating the test, fo I consider this proved to be scientifically inadequate and totally inappropriate I think they just assign history to whatever they wish. Maybe theyre latter Day Saints and so are only looking for certain ethnic strands I would never pay do this again* nor recommend this service to my family Friends or acquaintance neither should you!

I am absolutely disgusted and furious with myheritage. They made a mistake in my DNA results and made my question whether my father was actually my father. I had to get results from a different DNA service to verify that a mistake was made. I would STRONGLY recommend against ever using this service.

I used the premium version of the app and was very happy with it: I really used most of the available features and found the immigration letter of my great great great-grandfather, which was an amazing experience.
Next to that, I was really impressed by the servicedesk. Not only did it take 30 minutes to reply, but they also solved my problem in this time.

There is no doubt in my mind that I have African ancestry and that is fine. But with my knowledge of genes, for me to be 66% African, either what little European blood I have was so strong that it beat out the vast majority of my African genetics or something is really wrong with how they are reading certain data. Yes, that is me in the picture. Given that, African genes tend to be dominant; it is odd that I can even get a suntan and at 66% you would think that that wouldn't be the case. Living in California, I am the only African American who must put sunblock SPF 100 on when he goes out. I wish I were 66%. I would almost believe you Rafael had I not received completely different results from another DNA company. I have emailed My heritage and received no response, and in fact, I have email My Heritage twice sending the results of the other company with the email and have still received no reply.

As you know, skin color is determined by the number, distribution and type of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) in the skin. While there is a common assumption that skin tone measures the amount of a specific ethnicity you may have, it is not necessarily the case.
It is important to understand that percentages of ethnicity and genes are not passed down on in equal amounts and a very small amount of your DNA is likely to come from any given ancestor say 5 generations back. Because of this some descendants may inherit more of some genes than others do, while some descendants may not inherit specific genes at all.
To estimate your ancestral ethnicity, MyHeritage compares your DNA with other DNA testers around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. We call these people the Founder Populations. Currently our genetic models are based on 42 ethnic groups around the world, but this will improve thanks to our Founder Population project that is ongoing.
Nonetheless, it is a true that Africa is one of the world's largest and most populous continent. There are 3000 distinct ethnic groups and over 2000 languages on the continent making it home to the most genetically diverse people on Earth. The results of our project and these tests will yield a better DNA data set as we constantly work to better our DNA research model.

These baffoon's are the worst. When we ordered our kits, the website stated there was a 2 week lag time. Fine, okay. Six weeks later we contact them to see where our kits are. "Oh, we're behind, and didn't anticipate so many orders, you should get it soon". Have they heard of emailing all p their order era and let them know? They received our kits back on January 10th, didn't log it in until January 24th, and took until a couple days ago to start running it. Reallly? They advertised receipt to finish 2 weeks. Why advertise something you cannot comply with? Now they don't answer emails trying to find out what the hold up is. Professional. Can't wait for the results. Stay tuned. Another website copied my tree, and put my websitephoto (of me) in my cousins prophile. After that i contacted that webmaster and asked her to correct it, but she couldǹt and made me her webmaster instead, so i could erase the picture. After that all my DNA-matches was referred to my cousin, on the other website. Your support could fix it though.

This is a total scam. What they advertise on their website, about documents you can get information from, find more about your ancestors is just untrue. After subscribing to the complete package, I could not find any more information about my family than what I had already found from someone else tree they made themselves. So this trash of website was completely useless.
I got in touch with them, to which a lady phone called me a few days later. Even though they supposedly offer a 30 day money back guarantee, she was saying that it was not possible to do so, even thought just 8 days since my purchase had passed. And she was pretending to speak with a billing department, trying to find me a deal, which was just another lie, as one of the times, i got on hold for just 5 seconds while she went speak with the billing department. Everything smells as a scam here.
So, do not fall for the lies that are advertised about their services, and don't fall for the scam this company is. And forget the money back guarantee they say. At this moment, no other option left for me rather than involve law enforcement entities to solve my situation.
