I have been a very happy user of MyHeritage for many years. It is a very user-friendly program that makes searching for your roots and relatives very easy and interesting. Through SmartMatching you can really go exploring and get many interesting finds.
When you have problems the support-team is quick to respond and helps accordingly. I can only give MyHeritage my best recomandation.

With a genealogical tree, and so many names to track, it is inevitable to have duplicates and widow additions. Today Mr. James was most helpful in detangling my Maternal family tree. He explained MyHeritage is available six days a week, and email on Sundays for assistance.
With his guidance, my untangled tree yielded the only portion of my relatives who were floating in space.
Thank you and MyHertiage for the support!

Problem is with your phones. It's quite hard to get to speak to a person when dialing in and maneuvering "please press 1 for this and 2 for that". Once I finally managed to get a human I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the swift and professional way my problem got salved. 6 out of 5 stars once you get a human on the line. Br Sten.

I wanted to combine my account with my husband's account. Tadhg was so helpful and walked us through each step - even though we were using both a Mac and a PC. He was so patient while we got to the proper places and downloaded and uploaded...
Thank you Tadhg!

I have enjoyed researching my family tree and have made many discoveries because I was adopted and I didn't know who my family were for many years. Since then I have met many cousins, a sister and a brother and am still close to them.
Now I am in my 80's and I am probably not as astute as I was, so last year i signed up for a premium plus package but I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. Recently I received notice from My Heritage that I had signed up for auto continuation and the amount was taken out of my bank. I was horrified, I didn't realise I had signed up for that and I desperately needed that money. I contacted them, explained my position and thankfully they have now refunded the money, I am so grateful.

I just couldn't get one of the DNA samples registered, so I went onto the helpline. I was number two in the queue, but the 'music on hold' was so jolly I didn't actually mind too much and got on with what I was doing.
Once Aaron answered, after not too long, he sorted the problem in a couple of minutes, talking me through Plan A, whilst assuring me there was also a Plan B.
The latter wasn't needed.

I since 2004 working with MyHeritage.
Was then taken up by verwandt.de here when this page was closed.
The first few years I was a member and the base but always had a good service. Never remained unanswered.
Starting this year, I am now Premiummtiglied and therefore also the service has improved.
It is in principle promised what and so I could expand from 87 to now 460 the number of people in my family tree from September to November 2015th
Many thanks to MyHeritage for the beautiful side and taking good care.

I had a lot of questions about why my DNA is so different from Ancestry, FTDNA, and My Heritage since it all came from the same raw DNA. He was able to explain the migrations and possible reasons for the differences. In addition they all use different formulas. Very knowledgeable. Also, guided me to upload my gedcom file. Very pleasant and patient.

So I'd hit a roadblock in my search and discovered as much as I thought was possible. My next logical step was to close the account, because I couldn't (i. E.: didn't have the tools) research any further than I'd accomplished on basic search. I raised a ticket to delete my account all together (I'd already saved to GEDCOM file). Charlotte in Support reached out to me in response to the open ticket and helped me navigate through the real challenges I was having with my search, providing a brilliant resolution to my quest for more information. I'm delighted by the outcome and appreciate the non-aggressive approach to 'saving' the account. Definitely one delighted site user. Thank you for the 'discovery' of kindness in a place I wasn't searching.

Stay away from MyHeritage, its an unscrupulous, dishonest company with a misleading website. We received an offer of a 30 day Free Trial which said we could cancel at any time within the 30 day trial period and would not be charged. We signed up and they IMMEDIATELY (within minutes) charged our account $105. We cancelled the account and asked for a refund, but have not received one.
Tip for consumers:
Dont give them your credit card number!!

Dear David,
Thank you for your review here on SiteJabber.
MyHeritage does not have a 30 day free trial period for a subscription. We do have a 14 day free trial for our Data subscription and a 30 day money back guarantee.

If you are confident that you have Native American ancestry, then I would highly recommend that you do not waste your $$ on a DNA kit through My Heritage. Prior to ordering, my representative assured me, that unless I was from the Cherokee tribe, my Native American backround would be captured, and included on the report. Sadly, there was no mention of my NA ancestry on the report, and my attempts for a satisfactory explanation from a My Heritage representative failed miserably. When I expressed my complete dissatisfaction, she went on to say that she was not an expert, and would have an email sent to me by someone who has more experience. Well, glad to know that after I waited nearly an hour on hold to be told this. So much for competent Technical Support... I will not be doing business with My Heritage again, and would highly recommend that you do research before you order a DNA kit from them.

Dear Joe,
I am sorry to find you are dissatisfied with your DNA kit purchase and to read your feedback about the experience you had contacting our technical support team. Your overall satisfaction is extremely important to us and I will do my best to assist you with all of your questions while ensuring you get the most out of your results.
Currently, the issue of Native American ancestry not being included in one's DNA is actually a fairly common one in the world of DNA research as a whole because of several different factors.
Each of us inherits about 50% DNA from our mother and 50% from our father. However, the percentages of DNA received from grandparents and further back are rarely divided evenly. Therefore, one may not necessarily inherit the DNA of a given ancestor throughout the generations that may have been of a specific ethnicity.
For example, because an ancestors’ DNA is not passed evenly to their descendants, one grandparent might have passed on 3% of his/her DNA to his great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%. This demonstrates how one may have a Native American great-grandmother, but have inherited such a small amount of her Native American DNA that it cannot be traced in a DNA test.
Therefore, If your Native American ethnicity does not appear in the Ethnicity Estimate, some researchers will recommend you consider testing one of your parents or grandparents as it is more likely that Native American DNA will be traced in the generations closer to the Native American ancestor.
In addition, though you might have Native American DNA, it might belong to a tribe that has not contributed to DNA sampling and references. There are more than 500 recognized tribes which are ethnically, culturally and linguistically diverse. However, the majority of these tribes have not contributed their DNA for research purposes which would allow science to establish better ethnicity models.
The good news is we offer tools such as DNA matching and genealogical references to allow one to research this kind of thing further. Though determining one’s ethnicity based on DNA is a relatively new field in genetics, great advancements have been made in the past years, but there is much more to discover. I can assure you that MyHeritage is on top of this and we will continue to work on improving our Ethnicity Estimate along with developing better tools based on your feedback, new scientific research, and discoveries.
I'd personally be very happy to assist you with any questions you may have on your research. Please feel free to contact me anytime at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com from your registered MyHeritage e-mail address.

Today I contacted My Heritage because I have not received the DNA that was ordered for my sister. I was immediately answered by William who helped me with my problem and even provided additional information to me. I submitted my DNA to ancestry.com and my sisters through My Heritage. There is no comparison and My Heritage is far more user friendly! I wish now I had used them for my DNA! If youre on the fence, I would recommend My Heritage. I would also recommend that William get a bonus. No, we are not related. I will keep his name and if I do need help, I hope I get him!

I am very happy I got an immediate response to deleting my sister's email. I think I can trust My Heritage completely, I may not be able to pay for any of these services, therefore, if that is the case, I might discontinue with My Heritage, since it's not free. But for now, its interesting, the only part theyleave out is what your family tree did, like I want to know about centuries ago, if there were any nobility in Austria or Germany in the Leckner Family and whatever else they did in life, like moneylenders, landowners, farmers, aristocracy, lawyers, teachers, whatever.
Thankyou

I manage my husband's tree as he won't go on line. I was afraid that the Heritage people would only deal with him but aftrr a few questions to verify who I was everything was fine. A lady called Alon was very helpful and patient as I am slow at typing and not too computer literate. I had ordered charts and when I tried to view them they gave an error message. She went through how to generate the charts. They showed up ok on her computer but gave error messages on mine. She advised removing Adobe and reinstating it. She also helped me to insert my Father onto the tree. The problem arose becaus his name was George William but he had a brother Gearge (Who died at a few months old) and a brother William. I wouldn't hesitate to ring them again. JH.

Do not hesitate to ask for help. Alon was so patient and helpful.

Love the fact that when I have an issue with my family tree, that MyHeritage support team actually listens to what I am trying to do and then sends me a detailed email of how to do what I need to do. I can even have my own idea of what I need to do but since they do listen, they always explain in simple terms of what they think I want to do and then send me the email. The last issue I had, I was trying something so difficult and confusing, they listened and gave me the solution, no attitude, just glad to help!

I have continued, for the past couple of years to do research into My mothers, very mysterious past. I am have hit a few walls but enjoying the ride. I have found My Heritage helpful, specially since I did my and my Mums DNA testing.

Nadja was the most patient and understanding person I have ever dealt with. Did not rush me through and never showed any impatience to an elderly person. She also explained what she was doing and made sure I understand what she was doing. Thank you Nadja.

My issue was changing the name of my Family Tree. I couldn't find any FAQ's in the manual so I went online and got directions on how to change the name online. I followed the directions but still wasn't able to change the name. When I phoned tech support, after a not-too-long wait and to make a long story short, I was instructed how to change the name, and it turned out that the directions for changing the name in the Builder were different from those for changing the name online. Once I got that sorted out, changing the name was a snap. Olivia was courteous and very patient. I have now traced my tree back to my Great Grandfather, in the meantime having added almost 700 names to my tree, with at least that many more to add. My Heritage is a fantastic tool for creating a family tree with so many features and report options, as well as telling you what each person's relationship is to the Manager of the tree. I love it! I don't understand why anyone would say My Heritage is a scam.

I got a brief subscription for the website and data, found nothing that I couldn't learn elsewhere and then cancelled both. Now they claim they only have record of cancelling the website, so they charged my credit card $119 to autorenew the data and refuse to give me my money back, even though I contacted them that same day, and the card wasn't billed until after I complained.

By using the My Hertiage research program, I located a branch of my family tree that I knew nothing about. I was able to trace this branch back to 1600 in Husum Germany. Although the family name changed three times, I was able to continue my research without losing track.
Thank you

My heritage is a very great tool to find out our origin but one thing that I hope the customer support can improve is to provide an option for transgender both mtf/ftm to be able to choose our sex in our profile. Due to the misgiven informations led to technical error and its effects the procedure and so the result puts on hold. And that is a little bit disappointed as we (clients) expected to get the result within a timeframe given. I hope the management team will take this into account.
