After having access to the possibility of seeing the diverse ethnic possibilities of those who appear listed as my genetic relatives, I suddenly lost all the possibility of seeing them, I still don't understand what happened, but the myheritage team has opened the possibility again I appreciate it, although I still don't understand why that happened with my account.

Mia was very helpful and patient with me. She was able to resolve my issue. I will be contacting Tech support again because I have another issue. I'm trusting for a quick resolve the next time.

I had a question about my Irish heritage and why it did not show up in my DNA sample and Alon was very helpful in explaining the difference between historical data and DNA sampling data. I feel much clearer about things now and she was more than helpful.

I have found My Heritage to be a little 'one sided' in that after having a problem with 'Record Searches' I spoke to a representative from My Heritage who told me he'd extend my membership by 2 weeks as he was unable to help and he would need to refer my problem to another area. I then had communications with another representative of My Heritage about the problem and when I asked him to confirm the 2 week extension he advised me my Data membership would be extended by only 1 week and my Premium Plus would not be extended at all. It's the Premium Plus which is the one mainly used and now I've lost almost 2 weeks because of the problem I was having. I find this to be poor public relations on behalf of My Heritage particularly as I have been a member for several years. After all, although I understand My Heritage offers the opportunity to build our family tree online, if not for 'us' members adding details of various family members they'd have little to offer in the first place!
Tip for consumers:
Sooo, I emailed Dean as per his request and I've had no response from him as yet. I received a call from My Heritage on Monday night from a girl who confirmed receipt of my email. She said I'd sent it from a different email address from the one on my account (I have 2 email addresses) but not to worry as they could connect it to my account. She said Dean would be in shortly and he would call me later. As he didn't call me that night I emailed him again the following day.Still no call from him!

At first, I did not fully understand my DNA profile submitted online from MyHeritage, so I contacted them and the gentlemen I spoke with provided a complete comprehensive breakdown description of the meaning of my profile. There was no rush to get me off the phone and he answered all of my questions in detail. So, I highly recommend MyHeritage and don't hesitate to contact their support group to get a full understanding of your DNA profile.

This scam is only here to sell your information to information brokers. I signed up and within 1 week my name was coming up on a bunch of background check sites

Since 2010 I am with MyHeritage. I have good expierance with them since then and I am very glad and happy with the renewing of their technical renovations. The only thing I am not so sure about is my DNA results. So I will try another company just to be sure about my DNA results.

Why does the DNA tracking stop at kit activated. You received my kit over a week ago... yet all that is ever shown is "kit activated". I see on the forums I am NOT the only one with this complaint.

Hi Randy,
I'm sorry to read your review and I will do all I can to help. Firstly, I can totally identify with how discouraging it is to wait for DNA results. I, too, have gone through waiting for my own DNA results only to find it was worth the wait, as "all good things" tend to be.
Waiting for your results is estimated at 4-6 weeks but under various circumstances it may take longer making it 8 weeks once our lab receives your DNA sample.
We currently have a high volume of DNA test purchasers and each test is given individual assiduity to ensure our DNA research community gets the most accurate results.
All this being said, In order to assist you with this issue, I'm going to need to locate your account and track your DNA kit from here on my end. Unfortunately, I am unable to locate your account using the name Randy T. That I see here on site jabber. Please send an e-mail to my inbox at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com from your registered e-mail address so I may assist you with this as soon as possible.
You already are my first priority here and I will be looking for your e-mail.

Absolutely brilliant service. A problem I had was solved pleasantly, quickly and efficiently. I cannot thank Joy enough for the time and trouble she took over sorting this out for me.

I called about a question regarding adding a site member. Aaron was very helpful and answered my question. I love working with MY Heritage. It is so much easier than Ancestry or Family Search, bot of which I tried. This wasn't the first time I called with a question and every time I've received GREAT customer service. Several of my relatives are using My Heritage after being on other sites. We all like the Smart Matches format. I didn't have any trouble waiting for Aaron to answer today. My family all did their DNA through FTDNA and all have loaded into My Heritage and GEDmatch. Thank you very much, I really like My Heritage!

On 4th May, 2020, I paid $172.76 AU for Premium Membership of My Heritage. On 5th June, 2020, one MONTH later, I finally got the technical issues dealt with and was able to fully use the site. The site would sync until 95% and then it would not go any further. This meant that the next 3 steps were unable to proceed. I initially asked for help with a phone call. They wanted to know my credit card number. I refused to give this number over the phone. I knew that all the money had been removed from my Teachers Mutual Bank and this was able to be checked. I then sent 3 well spaced emails, reference numbers #*******, #******* and finally #*******. I received a reply at last from Paola who said I was using an old version of the site builder and I should update it to the latest version following the steps she recommended. I had TWO icons in my computer and had no idea which icon was the old and which was the new. By the grace of God I happened to have in the house with me, a few days later, a person who had advanced computer skills. With great difficulty he managed to get the site working successfully for me. Now that Technical Service finally deigned to reply to my 3 emails I love the site. It is magnificent. For many years I have used the FREE site run by the Church of Latter Day Saints and never once had a problem with them.

Dear Pauline,
I'm sorry to find your low star review here on SiteJabber and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
Your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate department to ensure better support for the millions of our members.
Firstly with regards to your membership, It seems that someone in our sales department contacted you initially with regard to your membership and this was not our support department. Our support department will never ask for a credit card number but
Our sales team will promote the best membership that fits your research needs and budget using the various tools we provide. This department is different from our support department and that is why it seems there was a misunderstanding.
Although many people do benefit from hearing about our latest promotions and different subscriptions, the most important thing for us is your overall satisfaction and research experience. Therefore, Upon your request, I can notate your account with great importance to not receive any contact from our sales department unless requested otherwise to prevent this from happening again.
While I am happy that Paola was able to assist you with your support inquiry, I'd also be personally happy to help you whether it is a billing issue or a support issue. Please feel free to e-mail me directly at rafael.vipsupport@myheritage.com.
I'd be always happy to help.
Sincerely
Rafael

My sister worked on our two family trees for 60 plus years and she put all the information into MyHeritage.com. Before her passing two years ago, she transferred ownership of the site to our cousin. My cousin and I continued working on the two family trees as he gave me access. Last week my cousin transferred ownership to me via instructions from MyHeritage.com. Unfortunately following the transfer, when I looked at the My Profile page where my photo is, the data of records, photos, immediate family, education, etc. were all that of my cousin. I had several communications with technical support but was unable to make the necessary changes which resulted in a lot of frustration. Today I was connected with Brigitte and she was determined to rectify the problem. At one point I told her that maybe we should just leave it alone but she was very persistent in wanting to correct the mistake. Thankfully, with her expertise, the problem was solved. I want to commend Brigitte for her persistence and patience with me. Next time I need to get technical support, I will ask for Brigitte as I value her expertise greatly and thank MyHeritage.com for hiring such a dedicated professional.

Perhaps the dna research is very good, but the service is terrible. While they are friendly, waiting time is VERY LONG, their tracking number is not recognized by the post office, we do not from where they ship so that we can track the packages

I had twice posted a person's DNA information (under a different name) on MyHeritage and created a twin for that person. I couldn't delete the wrongly imported person. I sent a request for help to MyHeritage customer support and they called me. When I was called, I was very hurried, nervous and ashamed, but the person who called me calmly advised me step by step to make the necessary changes.
I speak really bad English because I studied it 54 years ago and I haven't spoken it since, and I didn't even remember MyHeritage IDs. But Jakob advised patiently and kindly and now I have a pretty winning feel!
Incredibly good customer service MyHeritage Customer Support & Jakob

After I left my review on Sitejabber, a rep from Myheritage left me a message to email him. He wanted to check up on where my DNA sample was in the process. He said the processing can differ by person because of "biological variability." He later explained that that meant some people don't have enough DNA in their saliva to process.
My friend and I mailed in our DNA the same day, and it was delivered the same day. He got his results about 3 weeks before me, but not because they had a problem with my sample. They just didn't start working on mine until much later.
I'm changing my review to 4 stars, though, because despite the slow processing and excuses, I got everything I was looking for from MyHeritage. I was matched with relatives that confirm who my deceased father was. In case MyHeritage used info from my family tree, I also did a test on Ancestry where I had no personal information, and they still matched me to the same family.
Also, MyHeritage gave me three free months access to their records because of the long wait. I was able to find the first and only picture I've ever seen of my father. Using MyHeritage was worth it just for that.

I'm just getting more and more frustrated with MyHeritage. I mailed in my DNA samples at the same time as my friend. I literally took BOTH envelopes to the post office TOGETHER on the SAME DAY. They both arrived at MyHeritage on May 22,2018, an hour apart, according to the tracking numbers. My friend received an email from MyHeritage the SAME day, saying his DNA had been received. Two days later, mine still hadn't been checked in.
I called and the rep was polite, but he said the packages are scanned in by hand, and that it could take up to two weeks to get checked in! I was worried that mine had gotten lost. Luckily, I got an email an hour or two later saying my package had been checked in.
A few days later, my friend got an email that MyHeritage was working on his DNA, and a video of the lab. I didn't get the same email until June 1st.
On June 3,2018, my friend got an email that his DNA results were ready. I'm still waiting for mine, four days later. It says my results should be in June 14th-21st. But that's just an estimate, not a guarantee. There are 4 stages, starting with extraction. Mine has said they are extracting my DNA since June 1st. I wish they had better communication. I'm starting to worry there's something wrong with my samples.
The whole reason I did a DNA test is because my family lied to me about who my biological father is. I have no way of knowing that the other person they claim is my father truly is(he's dead). Supposedly my real biological father was Italian, so I'm waiting to see if my results will show that. Also, I'm hoping that someone else on my father's side of the family has taken a DNA test with MyHeritage.
I don't understand why two samples received the same day would receive such different levels of processing. It's like a lottery system whose DNA gets worked on.

I signed up to see if it is a better site than Ancestry... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Useless info and then they charge your account and you have a helluva time cancelling! When the guy, with a strong foreign accent, finally called me they were only going to refund 50% of the $250 fee! I said I tried cancelling immediately when I discovered they had charged my card! When I called all I got was a recording saying "no one is available" with no options to talk to a real person! Well I told the guy that called he had better refund the entire amount and that I disputed the amount and would complain to everyone I could! He then said they would give a full refund... but won't believe it until I see it! DO NOT RECOMMEND MY HERITAGE!

I am an Ethiopian from the northern region (Amhara and Tigre). The DNA analysis shows that more than 50% of me is Ethiopian Jewish, around 23 percent Middle Eastern and 13 percent Somali.
I compared this with other Ethiopians and Eritreans and observed almost a similar trend. MyHeritage is better in pinpointing regions. However I think that they have bundled Amharas, Tigres and Bete-Israelis together as Ethiopian Jewish. Perhaps they need to work on that

I had a most wonderful experience talking with your representative last night about my questions on "Double First Cousins" and the amount of "Double DNA" I have when comparing my results to a relative that had his DNA results compared to my DNA. Your representative understood exactly what I was saying about the amount of Double DNA from a Double First Cousin's.
This is a subject that needs to be address on your website. The marriage of 1st cousins happened many times before WWII in rural areas where people traveled less and only knew people from their own families and neighbors.
This will help people understand that the relationship of family with Double DNA will or may show a closer relationship to each other than they really are.

By mistakenly transferring the MyHeritage app from old HDD disk to a new SSD disk by a computer expert, MyHeritage stopped working at all. I have been helped tremendously along with MyHeritage itself so that 15 years work has not been in vain.

My DAN tests were lost in the mail. After waiting for a month, I called the 800 number, and immediately, and very courteously, the associate cancelled the previous order and mailed me new DNA tests. We got 6 packages for Christmas, and my family LOVED it!
