I wanted to download my raw DNA file and attempted to do so using the instructions listed on the MyHeritage website. The option to download was not there. I then attempted to find out why this is by contacting their customer service but it only gives me the option to use the knowledge base which gives the same instructions that don't work. In order to speak or email a customer service representative you have to pay and go premium. Stay away from this company. Their results are basic at best and you cannot do anything with YOUR DNA as they keep it under lock and key evidently.

Very disappointed with the customer service. There customer support number goes un-answered and no one seems to action the call back requests or emails.
They have wrongly charged me after my free trail period ended, even though i had cancelled my subscription in time. At this stage i have tried numerous times to contact them to no avail. Further more there is no way for you to delete your payment details from there website. - which is very unusual.

I ordered an access to their records search program which was advertised for $24.99. They charged me $299.00 and getting a refund is almost impossible. Customer service is available if you want to make a purchase but unavailable for refunds. I did receive an email stating that someone would contact me. We'll see.

I was keen to do a DNA test so I paid £40 for the kit and signed up to the 1 month free trial. They deliberately waited 3+ weeks to send the kit which was their way of getting me to extend my free trial and pay an annual subscription fee. During the free trial period I tried to create a family tree and none of the records available were accurate. Absolute con artists.

Have been trying to get someone to assist with a refund for a service they have charged me for and I didn't request. Website and phone message state that someone will phone you back. This hasn't happened even tho have requested it several times. I did receive one email stating that they have now cancelled my subscription but conveniently ignored what I actually contacted them about, to get a refund. Keep getting an undelivered message when tried to reply to email, stating that they blocked it. I see this is a common issue. How a company is allowed to use such underhand tactics to take money from you and offer zero customer service or support. Blatant lying on their website and phone message. Do not sign up or use this site. Absolute gangsters.

Be extremely careful if you purchase an extended plan. They are ALWAYS automatic renewal. Mine went from $87. To $299. Because I apparently did not read small print. Have no idea how I missed it, as that is something I always do. Nor do they tell you that renewal rates will be 4 times higher.

I'd like to clarify that MyHeritage ensures all members are informed about the annual charge and its price through automated emails sent after enrolling in the membership and prior to each renewal. However, it's possible that these emails might be ending up in your spam folder if you were not aware. Typically one can cancel a membership anytime by logging into your MyHeritage account, clicking on your name, then selecting 'My Purchases'. From there, you'll find the option to cancel and switch to a free basic subscription after your paid membership runs out without having any annual charges. It seems like you might not have known about this.
In any case, your purchase satisfaction is extremely important to us. If you forget to cancel you may still request it, 30 days from the initial purchase date of the subscription.

On January 6/23 I made the unfortunate mistake to subscribe to MyHeritage. I thought I was subscribing to a monthly subscription. When I realized my mistake I tried to contact their support system. I specifically said what time I would not be able to take a call. That is when they called. For a week I have sent emails and tried calling to see if I had any options. I have received no responses. Please consider carefully if you are thinking of subscribing

I was in My heritage DNA since 2022 were the change of services was $50, this year the changed me over $300 even do I wrote to customer services to cancel the SCAM subscription.
This is an scam, there is not update since 2022 to now. Processing charges without providing services. I called then and emailed many times to get my money back without luck.

Extremely disappointed with this service, I sent my DNA test in January and have still have received nothing back. Not only that but I have now been charged a further £114 for an annual cost when i cannot get a reply regarding my DNA test. No updates or correspondence at all, I feel like they just want the money with no interest in providing a fair service. I would avoid and try elsewhere and am now raising a dispute with my bank.

Useless scam. Doesn't really work at all. Very expensive and they charge 179,50€ a year from your Paypal account without notice, and it's impossible to get someone to answer your emails. Seems that their only goal is to cheat elderly people.

Please note that once you enter into a free trial subscription, or purchase a full years subscription (Site or Data), you are sent a "Thank you" email to your registered MyHeritage.com email address.
Within this email, there are listed the benefits of the subscription and also instructions on how to cancel the automatic charge at the end of the free trial period also shown is the renewal price for the following year.
Additionally, before a subscription is about to expire, a “Friendly reminder” email is also sent a few days in advance, again, with instructions on how to cancel should you not wish to continue.
We do however understand that these emails may be routed to a junk or spam folder and therefore get overlooked.
With that in mind, I would be more than happy to assist and follow up with any questions or problems you may be having.

Honestly overpriced for the vague information they return. Also, as others have said, return envelope is not pre-paid anywhere, so you're sending off DNA samples in a padded envelope with no tracking unless you pay for that yourself. My results were super vague and useless tbh. I used the website to build my family tree during a free trial and now I just get tons of upgrade emails all the time. Asked for a return/refund before submitting my kit and was told it was impossible once it was shipped out. If you're thinking of impulsively buying this for you or your family, don't bother.
