I was doing a family search and came up with a match on this website but I couldn't access the information without registering and giving my credit card details even though the site says that you have a 14 days FREE trial. I soon realised that the information was useless and (I thought) deleted my registration. 14 days later my credit card was debited $160+AUD. I raised a transaction dispute with my bank for an unauthorised transaction, About a week later someone at MyHeritage called me and all they wanted to do was talk over me but when I said the word FRAUD several times I'm now getting a full refund.

MY FAMILY HISTORY HAS MOSTLY BEEN BUTCHERED ON THE MY HERITAGE SITE. ITS THE SAME ON ANCESTRY AS WELL. One person adds a wrong connection and before you know it all the sheep on My Heritage and Ancestry have lined up by the hundreds to add this. He is famous, so I guess they want to be descended from someone famous but why don't the sheep at least borrow a biography about him from the Library. Oh I know don't let the real facts get in the way of the shonky genealogical research.on My heritage. I will join My heritage for life if all the sheep on My heritage stop BUTCHERING MY FAMILY TREE I do find it ironic that geni which is owned My Heritage HAS NOT BUTCHERED MY FAMILY HISTORY and the curators there do everything in their power to ensure that the sheep can't BUTCHER IT THERE

The progress of your research along with its privacy is very important to us here at MyHeritage so I will do all I can to help.
If I understand correctly, there has been an issue with a member adding a wrong connection, and in turn, information that is not wanted has been added to your tree. Issues such as these can be frustrating and that is why we do have settings that will prevent this from happening because we do give the option to restrict certain behaviors such as what you report in your privacy settings.
If you are speaking about matching, you may control what gets into your tree by reviewing the criteria in your matches and rejecting it by the source if you see fit. If you are speaking about members editing your tree we also have conscientious privacy settings that will prevent any member from changing your research. Moving on from this, If a mistake has been made, there are ways to perhaps restore your tree and correct this.

After months of waiting for my DNA results. I truly believe I only got the results due to posting a bad review on sitejabber. But anyway, my DNA estimate came back as almost 100 percent European. My mother has papers that says she is 25% Cherokee Indian. I was very confused especially since my wife's grandmother was found on census records as being a born Choctaw and her grandmother always told her of this. So I called Myheritage, today They said that they have only been doing Native American DNA since December, and will update my results within 6 weeks. They said they were having a hard time deciphering Native Americans, with the Brits. Yet no where on the website does it say that. It also implies that your ethnicity estimates will not change. I am very confused by this, but will wait and see what happens. But my results have been there since February 2. My wife's parents believe the whole thing is a scam, and will not take the test. I wonder, was this all just a bunch of bologna? Has anyone else had this problem. I would like to take a test through Ancestery.com but, I am not rich by all means and do not have money to be blowing off in the wind. Any feedback would be good feedback, please help! Zero percent Native American for both Myself and my wife.

My phone is for texting only. I dont take calls and I very very rarely make calls. So I signed up to MyHeritage because a genealogical site mentioned them and I thought why not. I started to get smart matches or something like that. So I would confirm their info matched mine but would be directed to their buy a package site. Every time I tried to confirm someone I got redirected. I dont know if these people were confirmed or not and now I dont care!
Then I started to get calls! I looked up the number and it was from MyHeritage. I did an online chat with Sarah who told me that I didnt finish confirming my order. I told her I didnt order crap and then the chat abruptly ended. I guess she didnt like the word crap. I could have used worse but I didnt.
I gave my number for receiving text messages from other users NOT for marketing. I dont know anything about the site or if it is good or bad but I would give negative stars solely for them calling me just to make a buck or however much they charge.

MyHeritage offers many tools that offer assistance with genealogy research. One popular tool is the smart matching feature you describe. This feature will match information from your family tree with the billions of profiles available in our database. Many of our members do find value in such a feature and it does require a subscription. That said, it is ultimately your choice to purchase a subscription and you may very well research your family tree manually with the free membership you have. A free basic membership is recommended if you are just starting your research.

I subscribed to MyHeritage after purchasing two of their DNA kits. The support I have received so far is second to none, and I don't say this lightly. Today I spoke with MayaN about a technical issue I had created on my family tree (all of which was my silly mistake). She was amazingly friendly, helpful and supportive - this lady is just fantastic and left me feeling like a valued customer and we had the problem sorted out in a few clicks. I have had problems with my MyHeritage software synchronizing between the desk-top and web portal for almost a year now. Since the tech support is in Israel, their accessibility is very limited by the 10 hour time difference between my US Pacific Coast time zone and Israel's. Having said that, I have found that working with those technicians and help desk representatives has been a very pleasant experience. These people care, and really want to help. Sometimes they've even contacted me outside of the times mentioned above, which would indicate a late or swing shift for special cases on their end. They have helped via email, chat, and I even allowed them to work on my computer via their TeamView tech support. I have worked with them on PC platform and the Mac platform. In all cases I found their technicians to be competent, patient and persistent in addition to being quite caring and sympathetic. As an American English speaker with little language capabilities beyond that, these people have been very easy to understand, and they understand me. Stick with them if a problem arises. They won't let you down.

I HIT THE WRONG CHECK BOX AT TOP OF A FILE AND ITEMS I DID NOT WANT WERE SAVED TO MY SITE. I have no way to compare what I have experienced with another site except the free sessions with my Ancestry. But, as powerful as the system is the software has far too many bugs in it to be trusted.
