I ordered a DNA kit late at night and in my half asleep stupor managed to put the wrong postcode in my addresss. They changed it no problem and corrected the problem straight away, there was no waiting time either, they answered the call straight away! I'll leave another review of our experience with the kit once we have or results! Looking forward to it. Please ignore the bad reviews based on customer service, the customer service I received today was nothing short of fanatatsic. Thanks Aaron for all your help.

I called the number for Norway and got a Swedish person that hardly understood what I said! We are 3 persons now that are registered under one account because I am unable to log in any other way with my email. We are still waiting for the 2 last DNA tests and after reading the other reviews here, I am nervous.

I was excited to receive my DNA results! What a waste of money! It shows I have 0% Italian ancestry! My grandparents both were born and raised in Italy and still have family living there. They came to the USA from Italy in the early 1900's. What a waste of money! Sorry I can't leave 0 stars!

I closed my email and then could not get to my account, so I opened a new one but could not combine both on my own. I wrote one email and the problem was fixed immediately, including providing me with a link to create a new password. Very impressive. Friendly and accurate response to my problem that I had created by closing an email account before editing my myheritage profile.

If they charge you for the coming year, they do NOT notify you until after they charge and they refuse to cancel or refund. I was charged $250 and called immediately to cancel the service. They haggled and tried to get me to accept 2 different discounts. When I said no, I want to cancel, they simple refused and charged my credit card the full price. Google them carefully and you will find this is a FREQUENT experience. The service is NOT that great and the site is full of bugs. Do not be fooled by the "free trial". 23andme is no longer associated with them, which is how I came to import my family information to the site.

Through a mistake of my own doing (wrong synchronisation configuration) and a bug in the back-up I lost the tags to the foto's on the site. Although it took a few weeks to figure out the mistake and how it could be fixed the support never let it drop and eventually came with a solution.

Completely dissatisfied and upset with there overall service. I did not receive my 2 DNA kits and was charged 149 dollars after I canceled my subscription to them in less than 30 days. The following day fed ex said they delivered the DNA kits which I never received and there is no signature available or proof of delivery. So I was charged 350 dollars and haven't received anything.

Following a series of computer issues that resulted in having two identical family trees in the system and much angst and a distinct lack of computer smarts on my part, the assistance I received from My Heritage support staff, Linoy in particular to sort and resolve has been exceptional. The ease, patience and efficiency provided by Linoy and staff was excellent and I now have a tree covering many decades with facts, photos all as they should be. I am SO frustrated! For quite a while, I have been trying to get an autocluster report with no success. At their request, I have changed my email address 3 times... still no report. I have spent numerous hours with agents and have had no satisfaction. The concern has been"escalated" many times. I do not get a call back or any satisfaction. I am at my wits end and very frustrated by the lack of action or concern.

Ok, just want to make it clear, this review is not about the content on MyHeritage, but a review pointing out an annoying problem i have with getting my subscription, just to be fair, i am still able to access my tree, edit it, do search and all but i lack certain capacity from my premium plus subscription on the family tree builder, they have kept in touch and they've been working on it, slowly but working on it and keeping me up to date and asking me to do various attemps at fixing the problem... so anyhow, not a $#*!ty website and service, but keep in mind that you may or may not get the sae problem as i have.

I got a 6 months premium plus, i think i got the upgrade on the site but the app wont upgrade to PP account, i have contacted tech support the guy added a 2 week to my subscription and said it should be solve in the following week... lets hope so. But the app or website is good, cant wait to have the full functionality of my PP.
So the app notice that i am premium as per screenshot but in the upper left you can see that premium does not appear and i still have the premium icon in the toolbar and if i try to morge it prompts me to by premium, but info i get with what i think are normaly premium on the website are syncro to the app, it's really odd.

My kit was mailed with tracking on Dec 26, rec'd by them on Jan 2nd and has not even been checked in yet. I called and they say there was tremendous response during the holidays, Maybe, with all the advertising they did they should have been prepared with more staff?

It´s very interesting to get to know a little more about your background, which the DNA test provided, but I had expected more details. If you want to know more you have to pay more, and it will be quite expensive in the end.

I will just say that there are alot more questions than answers. I received my estimates back but it is very generalised and not very specific. But I was told to check back in a few months and things can change as they get more information. So I will wait.

The company may have useful and informative services, but the problem is when you subscribe for the trial service, they charge you right away when the trial expires, without confirming with you if you'd like to continue or not. This shouldn't be allowed, and should be reviewed by a court.

Tip for consumers:
When buying a trial service, read the rules, and put the expiration date in a calendar few days before expiry, so you can cancel it in time.

I had the definitive knowledge of my grandfather being born in a wigwam in North Dakota in the Chippewa tribe and being half Scottish. Plus my grandmother was from Ireland, and they missed that completely and pointed out Scandinavian and Finland. When I tried to contact them the only option I had was phone and they were closed. They do not have an email easily or readily available. They have all of the hype and website development but their family tree is the only thing that is partially accurate and intriguing. Their DNA research is a waste of time and money. If they were this far off on mine and you do not know your heritage, chances are you are not getting accurate results from them.

In some regions of the world, there is a unique set of genetic characteristics that are shared between the offspring of native populations. While different populations migrated from one region to another, research has shown that these sets of characteristics make some regions distinct from others, allowing us to establish a genetic model for some regions of the world. It is also important to keep in mind that people within surrounding countries in Europe share common DNA for various reasons such as cross border migration and official borders and communities being occupied.

I would like to clarify that when you do a MyHeritage DNA test, we compare your DNA to our models of DNA from different ethnicities to see which ones you match. MyHeritage Ethnicity Estimates include 2,114 geographic regions, providing more depth and resolution than any other DNA test available today, and complementing the current 42 top-level ethnicities (see: https://bit.ly/2Nlyijm & https://bit.ly/3hma5oe). This number will be growing even larger because of our own Founder Populations Project that is ongoing (see: https://bit.ly/320110b).

Furthermore, each person receives approximately 50% of their DNA from their mother, and 50% from their father. The percentages of DNA a person receives from their ancestors at the level of grandparents and further back (great-grandparents, etc.) are not necessarily divided evenly in each generation. At seven generations back, probably less than 1% of the DNA comes from a direct ancestor. It is possible that one great-grandparent may have passed on 3% of their DNA to their great-grandchild, while another great-grandparent may have passed on 11%. It is also possible a particular ethnicity does not get passed down.

Had three contacts with three different staffers with positive outcomes on each occasion. First on a Tree problem, quickly sorted. Secondly re engaging a researcher which is ongoing and then a DNA hiccup which was fixed with a minimum of fuss. Thanks a lot.

I didn't cancel after the 14 day free trial and was billed for a year of membership. I really couldn't afford that and contacted Heritage. They responded immediately and resolved the issue. I am grateful and in awe of the prompt response. I hope to do business with them again.

MyHeritage.com has been a huge help to me in compiling a genealogy of my mother's lineage. I've met cousins she or I never knew existed, learned about my maternal grandmother's and maternal grandfather's families, found 1910, 1920, 1930 and 1940 US Census Data for many family member which allowed me to look up their addresses to see what their residences looked like (then or today), and them most amazing aspect of MyHeritage is that it's allowed me to colorize old black and white photos as well as animate several photos--the project I'm working on includes data, family stories, and photographs, so seeing old black and white photos come to life in color has been striking--and has added tremendously to the project.

I'm happy with the help I received from MH / support today, March 7,2018. But less pleased with my two phone calls yesterday, March 6,2018. I obviously came to the sales department, despite the fact that I chose numbers for support initially of the phone call. Sales manager meant he would turn over to support, which led me to get into the same loop of choice etc. I felt that I was not a good solution. The second time I tried to read a message, but I received no telephone response.

Otherwise, I would like to thank you for a well-established family reunification program. It provides many opportunities for building family tree and communicating this to other genealogical researchers.

My husband and I both received emails indicating our DNA results were ready to view. After many attempts, we continued to receive the message that there were problems with the webpage and it was being reloaded; however it never did reload. I called customer service several times, to no avail--continued to receive recorded messages that were totally unhelpful. Finally on Saturday, I was able to speak to a "real person"-- Patrick from Ireland. He was extremely knowledgeable and courteous and walked me through the process. He even called me back when our line was disconnected, which told me he was there to help. We were finally able to get our results, thanks to Patrick.
