“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

After being lured into the " Free" Resume writing section, you are asked to pay a few dollars to print/ save your resume. That is reasonable for the service provided. Watch out that you don't inadvertently " sign up" for a monthly membership. It costs quite a bit more and if you don't notice you've signed up until you get your credit card bill, they won't refund it.

When you do a resume on their site you may think your making a one time purchase but you are not. You will be charged a $50 on your credit card at the end of each month until you realize you have to go back to the site account and cancel your subscription. In my case they ripped off a paraplegic gentleman who lost his job. They also go under the name of LiveCareer US Stay away!

Our daughter signed up for an inexpensive trail period, but never used their services. They continued to bill her for months, and yet she never received anything! What are they billing for? They give the impression that you can get help with a resume for a reasonable amount, and then begin a monthly charge of $35.80 and $1.07, without giving anything in return. After numerous calls and emails, they would only refund one third of the charges. They won't let you talk to anyone at their headquarters. They are run by a company called BOLD, with offices in San Francisco, Puerto Rico and India.
Something seems shady! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Was charged three times in one month not able to get my full refund because of "Refund Policies" I got a "courtesy refund" for a little bit of it even though I was overcharged and not my fault! Tried to cancel my subscription this was difficult, they could only see an old email which doesn't exist anymore! They Couldn't even see the Email accounts that I was actually using! Will never use Again! Waiting for an Email and Refund. Will see if they turn up! Doesn't seem like a very good company!

My Perfect Resume is a scam. I only spent the 99 cents in the first place because I had gone through all of the resume building steps before they advertised it cost a thing. The site never mentioned they would charge me monthly. It was 2 months before I caught it on my credit card. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and will fight to be refunded everything, but this company should be shut down before this happens to more people.

Paid $2.95 for a trial period (price to go to ~$24/month) after that. CANCELLED plan the NEXT DAY... but still got charged $24. Not sure why anyone would need to keep paying that much for a one-time resume (high school student project) but I guess that's how the company makes their money.

Customer Service Rep was very helpful and timely. I didn't realized that they have been charging my card in the last 3 months after 14 days free trial... did not know that they will charge without asking. I was able to refund one month charge at least, I still paid two months for the service that I never really use.

Great service, but I have a job now and no longer need it. Guy on the phone was super helpful and was able to cancel and get a refund without any problems. He kept saying "Perfect" though and I started wondering if the management asks their employees to say "Perfect" repeatedly in order to brainwash their customers into wanting to continue with the product! Lol

The service representative was great. However, being charged $26 USD every month after a 14 day period for what was thought to only be a $2 charge for a one time use is not acceptable.

However, when calling customer service, I was greeted by Pamela who helped with a potential refund.

Seems to be working. Putting time into something thinking its a free service and then having the "surprise we're gonna charge you and hope you forget about it so we can keep charging you every month" thing is kind of slimy and unpleasant, but it is to be expected these days.

The basic text version of any resume created can be downloaded free of charge. Also, both our site and our templates are free to use. However, our premium services do incur a cost. Upon signing up for the 14-day trial, we notify customers that at the end of the trial, the subscription is set to auto-renew at the regular rate of the subscription and the billing schedule is indicated in the confirmation email.

I was in need of help with creating a resume when I found this site, it made a great resume then it said I had to pay $3, which I was okay with. I happily paid it and used their services once. Then about 3 weeks later my bank account showed they charged me an additional $35, I am a college student and don't have much money so I was pretty upset. I called and the customer service was rude and unhelpful... They refuse to give me my money back. So I would say do not use this site... They are scammers who only care about making money and could careless about their customers.
0/10, would not recommend.

IN search bar said these templates were free -spent a lot of time creating my resume to find i have to pay for it in order to download it. Dont really have a choice but to pay this fee -and to top it off you will charge me 34$ in 14 days -heres hoping i am able to cancel this after i have downloaded my cv. I have been charged 5 months for a service by My Perfect Resumes own admission for an account that is inactive and they cannot find, so therefore cannot reimburse the charges.
After going back and forth with them they told me the only way they could find my account and see that I was actually charged would be by me sending them copies of the charge from my bank statements. I immediately sent them the 5 charges that appeared on my banking statement and since have not heard back from them despite contacting them several times since. When they respond at first via email I was never given a name or a ticket number to reference this issue. Don't download a template or use their site they are crooked and very unprofessional. They have no customer service are not helpful and how can a company conveniently charge a persons account that they have been told and agree they do not have and yet at the same time can't find the charge so cannot reimburse?

Myperfectresume helped me prepare a highly professional resume to forward to employers. Multiple options available so one can design what is appropriate for the user. I just find the fee a bit on the high side and auto charging fee monthly is not pleasant.

So I sent them an email several weeks ago to cancel. NO reply. Tried again, this time it wouldn't even send the message. So I called. The service representative tried to sell me at least 2 different plans for varying prices instead of just cancelling. BTW the monthly cost of the plan I was on was the YEARLY cost of another plan, and he wouldn't even switch it over to that one for free. Crappy service, I spent way too much for something I never used.

Tip for consumers:
Only use this site if your writing really needs help. If you are a decent writer the amount of work you have to put in to create your resume/cover letter is more than if you wrote it yourself.

The company advertises itself as free, however, I was aware that there may be hidden costs. After spending time constructing my resume, I was prompted for payment, which did not come as a shock. I am familiar with sad, dishonest online companies. However, what was irritating was the lack of information about the types of payments allowed. Accepting only credit cards as payment, causing my time to be wasted. Despite speaking to a chat agent named Esteban M, and expressing my frustration, the agent apologized and stated there was nothing that could be done. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, the agent ignored the request and instead asked if I had a credit card. As a result of using their "service", my time was wasted, I experienced poor customer service, and feel that the company's lack of transparency with fees and payment options is bad business. The fault was theirs, yet I took the loss.

Let me just first start by saying that myperfectresume.com offers a very thorough and professional system for building a resume. It works very well. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding between the company and me as to what would be offered and the pricing of that offered product. I called to get a refund, and whomever I spoke with only was able to give me a 10% refund on transactions already made. I was later contacted by a customer representative who was able to refund all of my money. In conclusion, this site offers a good product, but make sure that you are very familiar with what they are offering and how much will be charged for those given services. The refund was a little frustrating to get, but I got it in the end and lived happily ever after.
