“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

Different style resume templates to choose from. Very easy to follow. The only part I didn't like was that you think it's free until the end when your resume is complete. You can't print it unless you pay and join.

I believe they use nothing but deceptive marketing! They don't tell you there is a fee and that you can't print your resume unless you pay the fee until after you have spent the time and have everything entered on their website. I would be willing to bet that all these nice fluffy reviews on here are from employees of the company!

Keep in mind that MyPerfectResume is a resume builder that gives the user a chance to try our service prior to commit to a full access subscription. Once you finish editing your resume, the service allows you to download the free text version of the resume or save it in your account for further review. The options for emailing, downloading and printing the resume in Word format are part of the full access subscription. To further our user experience, we provide the option of a 14-day trial for a small fee.

When you select our 14-day trial enrollment, it provides all details on screen that after the 14th day it will auto enroll into the monthly subscription service. It also explains, that you can cancel at any given time. This alert is also given when the credit card information is requested where it explains that, unless you cancel, you automatically authorize us to charge your account every four weeks at the current rate of the subscription.

Lastly, when you finish your enrollment process, an e-mail is sent explaining this as well.

I like using your product. I do not feel a need to a subscription when I attain a job. Make it feasible for people to use and purchase. As my Dad always told me "It's better to make a little of something than some of nothing". I help a friend out from time to time and I offer using this site but they don't want to pay the price. There are FREE resume sites out there. Just saying.

Used free trial to build a resume for my teenage daughter and now see they are deducting a regular amount of money from my credit card. So sick of dishonest scammers like this. So far I have paid $400 and received absolutely nothing as I don't use the service. DO NOT USE

This company makes money by putting in fine print that they will automatically renew your subscription and continue to charge you without your authorization. Other services do this as well after a trial run, but I was not aware that I had to do this here because they don't make it clear that that is going to happen which is deceitful and bull $#*!. I hope they make it more clear to other customers. The service itself was also mediocre. I had trouble with spacing and alignment and finally had to settle on sending in an uneven resume. I will never use this site again.

This website is totally set up to scam people. You must be careful if you decide to buy a one time use of their service. You automatically sign up for a subscription no matter what, and you have to call and cancel to not be billed monthly for $25 or more. I highly recommend not using this service. I am in talks with my lawyer about suing the business.

I gave it 4 stars! I LOVE everything about this site, except that at some point, I tried to go "back", and it erased everything I did, with no warning. Would have been 5 without the headache. I didn't see a save option. Would still use again!

I searched for resume templates to update my existing resume and my perfect resume popped up. It was easy to use and at the end it said that I could download my resume for 2.99 fee which I paid and downloaded my resume. Today there was a pending charge of 23.99 on my account. I did not sign up for a subscription like the women on the phone said. I despise companies that do this to people and can not imagine taking advantage of people already struggling. This company would have continued to take my money without my knowledge since they sent no receipt or email for the charge. The only reason I noticed was because thing are so tight right now. I had already paid for my use of your service and suggested you to other people who now have to also cancel their cards. If you use this company they will steal from you. Even though I "cancelled" online and on the phone the email they sent afterwards shows they clearly plan on charging me again.

So I just recently been doing a full check of my finances and I noticed that for the past couple of months I've been getting charged $25; I realized that I signed up for My Perfect Resume's trial version back in February. I'm kinda strapped for cash right now, so I called to cancel my subscription and see if it's possible to get a refund as I had not been using their services. The guy I talked to, Roman, was absolutely helpful and understanding of my situation, and went above and beyond what I had asked for. Not only was he able to help refund my charges, but also gave me some pointers as I continue my job search.
Needless to say, it was a smooth and incredible helpful time.
10/10, would definitely use again.

It was simple to use, yet I'm very cautious that I'll be unable to cancel this agreement. I see no reason that I will need this website beyond this resume. I'm not sure why you don't simply charge for the resume's at the time they are made.

My initial call to customer service didn't go well. I hung up and called tech support, fortunately for me, Herman answered the call. He provided polite, professional customer service. He patiently explained myperfectresume, the value of full access and he walked me thru the trial set up. With the stress this world has to offer, it was a pleasure to work with your employee who's whole goal is to provide customer satisfaction. Thank you Herman for taking care of this customer. It's been a long time since I had to dust off the old resume. This step by step process was great help in getting to focus where I wanted it. Lots of choices and ways to customize it. Only thing I would change is the ability to size and space the individual sections. I loved the success meter at the bottom of the screen that showed the strength of my resume as I worked through it. Had to call for help at one point and got right through to a live person who talked me down off the ledge when I thought I had lost it all!

There are various templates to choose from with different job industries! There are some great action words you can choose from in order to boost your resume. Last, but Not least, you have access to personal resume technicians such as Mary or Victor, whom are patient, courteous, and bilingual (Spanish)and who are ready to make your experience much easier in formatting, and resume overview. You just can't go wrong! Highly Recommended!

The site was useful, no doubt, but your approach is deceitful and misleading. Offering the work as 'free' only to incur a mandatory charge for a viable final resume is scummy at best. And then to mandate a subscription instead of a single time download or printing fee is a tactic I can only call predatory.

I understand you're a business; but for people trying to find a job right now, $24 is an expensive undertaking in this critical time. I appreciate the ease with which I was able to make a resume, but man I'm low on cash and falling behind on bills, and for access to creation of one sheet of paper, I just am unsure of the morality of it. I was ready to pay a recruiter for help to get my act together, literally. My Perfect Resume eliminated the burden and left me truly proud to have an updated resume to apply for some exciting positions. I don't think the price structuring or communication is good at all. Free to build, but $ to download is a weak communication strategy. Now, I have to worry about going into the account to cancel when I would have rather have access to learn more.

It said it was free and offered a ton of options, but in the end it was not. It is not the money that bothers me, its the Free messaging to get user, then asking for money to use what has been created. Really needs to change because I am hesitant to recommend to my friends and colleagues.

The site is very comfortable but there should be more subscription options. The ones offered are too expensive, considering the fact that this is a site to help people find jobs... so most users probably can't afford to spend $80 up front plus $5 a month... or $24 a month.

I found this site easy to use, gave good tutorials, and was quick at helping me write up a new and presentable resume. Called in to customer service and the rep was fast, friendly, and able to help right away. Well worth the $3 for a 2 week trial membership.

I find it really frustrating this website shows when typing in Free Resume Builder into google. What I find even more-so annoying is it lets you build your resume then BAM hits you with a $30 Fee! I will most definitely be cancelling. This is just bad business and greed.

Very impressed with the website. No help at all other than a format and that was not even correct. Could have gotten better help for free just about anywhere. I tried to cancel the service and they still charged me. I re-cancelled service after disputing the most recent charge back in March only to find that I was still being charged continually for the last 6 months! I have cancelled service for the third time now! I hopefully have them completely blocked off my account now.

Hi, I went on your site to find a template 12-11-15 that is it, I agreed to pay the 2.95 a couple weeks ago and was withdrawn from my account. I didn't see where this was agreeing to pay a monthly fee! I just checked my bank account 12-26-15 ( 15 days later) there is a pending transaction over 35.00. I never even received an email that this was going to be taken. I would like the money returned or stop transaction
