“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

I agreed to paying an amount around $2, but I came to realize they had been charging my account $24.99 every month. NOT OK! But, I called them and the man was very kind and issued my refund and also had to request previous months' refund from corporate (he should be able to do this in my opinion, but the company won't empower it's employees to do so). Any way, I should be receiving the rest of my refund in a week, but they should have to ask you to charge the $24.99 instead of just sending an email that looks like junk mail saying they are charging my account...

We offer our customers 14 day access for just $1.95, and we indicate up front that this offer will automatically renew after the 14 day period on numerous pages during the sign-up process ( (with the option of canceling at anytime). This auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14-day subscription on the sales page, payment page, processing the purchase and after the purchase (on the confirmation pages.) We also send a payment confirmation e-mail stating the date and amount of the auto-renewal, you may check your Junk/Spam inbox folder as well. Let us know if you received the correspondent refund by now.

This place is terrible! It's an online scam business that will keep charging your credit card and won't refund your money. When you sign up for $2.95 to build a resume it never says you are in a membership. I just talked to Lou in Puerto Rico and she refused to refund my money! I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and place s block on my account to be sure they didn't continue to charge my card.

We do notify our customers at several points that after the 14-day trial, the subscription enters into a monthly subscription service. We even offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the results during the trial! Customers are informed that if they do not cancel before the end of the subscription, either through their account or by contacting us, the recurring amount will be charged.
The auto-renewal information is listed in multiple areas such as the:
-Sell page
-Payment information page
-Processing payment page
-Order confirmation page
-Payment confirmation e-mail

Upon reviewing your account, we would have gladly issued you a refund for the month that you were charged. However, we are now unable to make any changes to the account or issue the refund due to intervention from your credit card company.

There was a hiccup in the system due to an upgrade that kept me from submitting my resume for up to 48 hours and for my inconvenience and trouble my representative Jose gave me a very nice deal on my monthly subscription to ease my upset. He went above and beyond because he truly felt that his customer (me) deserved the best. Thank you, Jose! Give him a RAISE, MyPerfectResume. :)

They charge me a set amount (like $3.95) to use the site for 14 days access, but after 14 days they have a recurring charge of $24.95. I called to cancel and the guy kept repeating himself stating that they sent me an email explaining that. I didn't read an email from their website 14 days later thinking it was spam. I didn't even know they were storing my credit card info in their site. Totally unethical.

I used this website a few years ago to download ONE resume for my freshman year of college... I got charged FIVE times and the customer service was rude about it. Not only that but the resume sucked and honestly could not convert well to PDF or Word without significant design changes. Fast forward to me entering me senior year of college I see on my bank statements charges for a subscription that I had not started. The subscription cost was 23.99 and I had a full bank investigation because I thought it was fraud... it was not. They only refunded me three charges even though I they messed it up for 8 months. Horrible place. Just look up how to make one and use Google Drive resume outlines to make one that is SO much better.

Huge problems with what the Company had charged me on my debit card and I was angry too. The rep Shelton listened carefully and started the refund for 3 months without me even asking for it... If I need this service again I will go back because of Shelton Sheridan! Great CSR and delivery too. Ron Ross

I have signed up for 14 days trial and paid 3.34 dollars which I had no problems with, but I was later charged again with 1.71 dollars, the worst thing is this morning I received 28.82 dollars bill which I did not want to pay, I spent hours trying to cancel my subscription but there was nothing useful in the website. I would like to cancel my subscription and get refund otherwise I will report to Fair trading to solve the problem.

I was under the impression that I selected $2.95 to print a resume without signing up to a subscription. Turns out that $2.95 is how they get your cc info to charge you $23.95 14 days later for a subscription. Their response to me when I messaged them to get my money back for a subscription I didn't realize I purchased was basically - "Oh well... You have our services for the next month but the good news is you can cancel your subscription and not be charge next month". BE AWARE!

I was calling to cancel my subscription. I like the features and ease of MyPerfectResume, but could no longer afford the $25 or so to keep it.

I simply called saying I'd like to cancel, not even trying to negotiate. Marco mentioned a promotion that made the service more cost friendly and lets me keep the benefits this service offers.

In one of the cover letter templates, there is a typo that states "which all me..." it should say "which allows me." Also, I completed my resume and noticed there was a comma where there should've been a period, there was a repeated bullet point, and there were missing periods at the end of multiple sentences. I realize I need to check it over but I thought that's what I was paying for. I applied to over a dozen companies emphasizing my attention to detail. I scrutinized my resume and found these mistakes. Completely embarrassing to say the least. You need to proof read all templates ASAP as well as have the grammar/spell check updated.

Perfect resume is good use, i like the templates. It's just that doing minor changes will crashed the file. MS word file is not readable on smartphone, it's corrupted.

I need to cancel my membership as i don't need it anymore. The representative is so nice to deal with the issue. It's settled right away. Thank you very much.

I was on a temporary lay off and found this to be a very helpful tool to get started looking into new jobs with confidence after being with the same company for years. They have been charging me for the last two months even though I cancelled back in January. I have made multiple calls to customer service and every time they tell me they put in a refund request to get my charges refunded and that someone from their "refund department" will contact me within two days. Nobody has EVER contacted me, even after multiple calls and emails.

Another shady company advertising as a free service. My Google query was "Free online resume builder". They were included in the result set and I spent almost an hour creating my resume, only to find that I had to pay before I could access the finished product. A follow-up Google query returned an ad for them that literally stated Special: Free resume for $1.95.

I called customer support to inquire whether they understood what the term free meant and after 3 minutes on the phone, realized that they do not! BUYER BEWARE!

Our free account gives you the chance to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. The ability to print, e-mail, or download your resume and cover letters are features included in our paid subscription and not listed as a feature of the free account. You can download a plain text version of your resume for free. For the benefit of our users, we provide the option of a 14-day trial for a small fee. When you select our 14-day trial enrollment, it provides all the details on screen which state that after the 14th day, it will auto enroll into the monthly subscription service. It also explains that you can cancel at any given time. This alert is also given when the credit card information is requested where it explains that unless you cancel, you automatically authorize us to charge your account every four weeks at the current rate of the subscription. Lastly, when you finish your enrollment process, an e-mail is sent explaining this as well. Auto e-mails can get picked up by the filter as spam or junk mail, redirecting this to the junk/spam folder. Please be sure to check these folders just in case.

I called customer service after failing multiple times at cancelling my subscription, and I was so glad I called I was greeted by the nicest person in the world! I didn't feel pressured to not cancel, I spoke with her for a while and ended keeping my subscription for a very fair price she made my day.
