“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

The templates look good on screen but after they are downloaded onto a computer the formatting goes all wrong. This has cost me a number of job applications, which meant it was just a waste of my time sending them as they looked very unprofessional.

You indicate the resume template is free - until the very end when we want a copy of it. I feel this is false advertising but since everything has been completed and time spent we are obligated to purchase. Poor business ethics. I also sent an email asking why there is no charge and no response from you.

Easy to use format but deleted portions kept popping back up in my work history area multiple times. I would delete it, save, and then it'd come back again later. Very strange and confusing, but eventually got it all removed.

Had trouble from the beginning setting up "my perfect resume" The time it took to build the resume, I could have succeeded a better result on my own. Not to mention if you fail to read the fine print of getting a charge of $34+ every month, it can become costly for one who is already stressed about finding a job. Pretty crooked to scam people when they are already down in funds, hence the reason they are needing a resume in the first place.

I love the walk through and ability to add the job description so your software can add "key words" to the resume. I'd like to see a Federal Job option as their resume requirements or what they look for is totally different. Overall good experience, easy format (bring in more visual options though).

It really has simplified the resume-creation process. I gave it four stars because I don't feel like a monthly subscription is necessary. Maybe there should be some alternate payment methods for someone who only needs the service once or twice? I don't know the solution, but other than that, everything has been good.

Don't mind paying for the resume hate the "auto renew" stuff since you are counting on people to forget to turn it off to get their money. Feels like a scam and your site is really well done I would have paid $5 one time fee to get it.

DO NOT USE! I subscribed (stupid I know) after receiving an email that said the annual fee was $35.80, however I was charged that amount monthly! I have been calling and emailing trying to get an explanation for how they can claim an annual fee when it's actually a monthly fee but I never get a straight answer. It sounds to me like they've been given a script to follow when customers clue into this scam of theirs. A basic word resume is better than giving a single cent to this scam operation. Stay far far away from these thieves!

This site is a scam that is almost impossible to protect yourself from. Run for the hills... Anna B has her patter down perfectly and you will get no help when you call their customer service number. Read the email carefully that they send you because it carries all kinds of small print that will cost you lots of money.

I signed up for a one off fee of 1.95 in January. Then two days ago I saw 27.79 had been taken from my account by My Perfect CV. I have contacted my bank and they in turn said they would contact the company. I have contacted them three times over the past three days and have yet to receive a reply. My next step is to contact consumer affairs to try and get there scam artists black listed. I would urge people not to use the web site. It's a scam avoid at all costs. They will raid your bank account without permission for their so called FREE service.

These guys advertise themselves as "Build Your Perfect Resume for Free!". Sounds great!
I've spent an hour creating my resume on this site and was disappointed when I saw in the end that you can`t do anything with it without paying them money. Maybe it`s ok to pay, I don't mind, but it looked really dodgy that they don't have a paypal payment option. I decided to Google them and found out that these guys are not only lying in their advertisement but also cheating with payments and cancellations! I`m really disappointed as I have wasted my time. Now I cant do anything with the resume, just print screen... Very sad, but these bastards will not get my money!

However you can download a plain text version of your resume for free. I googled, "free resume templates" and MyperfectResume came up. I started creating my resume, then after I was almost done, I called customer service for some formatting help, that's when I realized it was not in fact free. At least the 14 day trial was very cheap, the man on phone said $1.45 but really it came out to over 2. I did all that work so I ended up paying and subscribing. Although the service itself is good for making resumes, I did not appreciate the lack of straightforwardness of billing at the beginning. I called yesterday to cancel and was told there was a special price of 4.95 per month. I took it because I was not done and it beats paying full price. Lastly, I think the service could be improved by allowing us to modify the downloaded copy on Microsoft word so we can use it in the future again without having to create a new one. The reps on the phone are very helpful and the concept of this site is great. Just needs to be more honest up front on line about their fees.

I have never had to do a resume before, due to working the same job for many years. Several things I didn't understand and didn't do correctly. I called the customer service to ask for help. Yes, I understand it says in the FINE print that customers will continue to be billed after the 14 day trail BUT what is the hell am I paying 34 dollars for? A fancy border? How does it go from 1.00 to 35... you guys are scammers. People build resumes to find jobs... i clearly dont have 35 dollars to pay right now

We used the service to do a resume, but in the fine print you find that they'll actually charge you a much larger monthly subscription. It took us a few months to realize.

Unfortunately, looks like I'm not the only one who's had the same experience, but those reviews tend to be hidden by 5 star reviews (which also seem shady).

Overall, this is a borderline scam. By law in NZ, all charges have to be clearly displayed and cannot be hidden.

This has honestly been the best application I have ever had the pleasure of paying for. I can honestly confirm 2 new jobs and a lot of graduate school acceptance letters because of the amazing work. It had been years since my friend composed a resume and she need help. I stumbled across MyPerfectResume and found it easy and cost effective. Once she had completed her resume and wanted to cancel her subscription we figured she would have to jump through a dozen hoops to get this done. Nope... That too was easy. Helps build a perfect resume. People are giving bad reviews for the "hiding fee" there are no hiding fees say clear as day whats gonna happen. I cancelled my account with no issues talked to Alex and no pressure to keep my account just general information will recommend this to anyone that needs a little help.

This site took the fear and dread of producing an awesome professional resume completely out of the equation. Many helpful templates and powerful statements that can be incorporated into the resume with a simple click. The final product was a powerful tool in assisting opening the doors of those I wanted to seek employment with.

Further we made an oversight and failed to cancel within the stated timeframe, explained our mistake to the CS folks, and was immediately and amicably resolved. Thank you for making this entire process easy! Highly recommended!

I bought the $99 this morning. It is pending in my bank already. Their site does not work, I cannot get the scroll downs to show me more examples. The IM chat guy knows nothing and was not helpful. He asked me for my CC information again because he said he could not find me in the system. There is absolutely NO help.

I want a refund- already called the bank. I would like to write a better review as I always do, but they charged me and I can't get a live person. On top of that, I am doing all the resume writing when I was paying them to do it. I emailed customer service so let's see... SCAM

Hi, I just finished doing my resume as it is now called, with the help of MyPerfectresume.com. The choices and layouts of the resume are very impressive. My only fault was that after completion, it was not user friendly as editing and saving proved hard to do. After several tries and the next morning I managed to edit and safe my document. However, making big spaces small between paragraphs is still a problem as the bullet points do not move with the rest of the text. This part could be made easier, by may be just putting a read only on the back ground such as other documents not being used. And just the actual resume can be left editable. Myperfectresume is a great service as it allows you to upgrade your resume and cover letters with new templates and suggestions. The website is easy to use and navigate. I've created many cover letters and resumes for myself and others. I was under the impression that my 14-day trial would discontinue on a later date until I noticed a debit for $24.95. After speaking with, Angel, an amazing customer service agent, he helped fix the problem and gave me a much better solution and discount. Thanks!
