“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

They first charged me $1.95, then $34.95. This was not advertised. When logged in, you cannot find what plan you are on, or how much money they will charge per week/month.

I went through the signup again, and indeed in the fine print you can see the first 14 days are $1.95, then $24.95 per 4 weeks. That is not $34.95, so apart from tricking you with a weird payment plan, they also overcharge you by $10.

I have to say an email asking for a refund was answered, and the person stated a refund would be issued. Refund of $32.95 was indeed issued today (9/30). I did notice that there were 2 charges, for $32.95 and $0.65. The latter seems to be some transaction fee as it is a european company probably.

They just rob the entire money from ur account without your knowledge and for which u don't even get an email receipt but your bank will
Not fail to notify about the debit transaction. They save your card details and keep deducting money every 15 days. Be ware.! I have been cheated big time.

Starting with the positives, the process is simple and they do provide a training-wheels approach to quickly churn out a resume that looked great on screen, with recommended keywords and examples that line up with the job you may be applying for.

But.

If you have microsoft word, or literally any other word processor, you are better off using that. For the bargain of $1.95, you can finally use the resume you built! (Oh, but "after 14 days, auto-renews $24.95 billed every 4 weeks".) I don't expect everything for free, but they don't even mention this to you until you're ready to print/download and be on your way. They profit off people in a time crunch and suck as much as they can from people not going through their intensive cancellation process

The customer service people were very friendly and very fast. As soon as I called, a representative answered and helped me fix my problem within minutes. Something that could have been so stress full was fixed right away.

As far as help with writing the resume I think it is a great place to begin. Lots of good ideas and ways to tweak what you already have in existence if this is NOT your first time. Have not had a billing issue as of yet and am sensitive to these things so I will be on lookout after reading some reviews. However, their customer care onsite service was excellent. Very sweet, very patient and ultimately helpful.

Yeah, you got to be f***ing joking. I don't remember signing up with the intention of paying $25 a month for this. Low and behold, $25 fee. They must just show you the trial amount, because no way I would have signed up if I had realized the larger hidden fee. Called customer service, garbage. Was hostile towards me after my complaint. 0/10 would not recommend.

Got a one off invoice for $3 to download my resume. Then three weeks later got a $35 bill because somehow I had been joined to a monthly subscription. Tried contacting them through the website 4 times and have heard absolutely nothing. $#*!ing scum.

Once you selected our 14-day trial, you automatically enrolled in our monthly subscription service, which we let you know at this stage that you may cancel at any time. After that, we charged your credit card since your 14-day trial expired. Also, when we request your credit card information, we clearly explain that unless you self-cancel or request a cancellation before the 14-day trial expires you authorize us to charge your account every four weeks at the current rate of the subscription.

I didn't see anything advertised about having to pay. Pretty low having people do all the work of creating or editing their resume, only to charge them in order to access it any way. Premium services I could understand charging for, but not telling one ahead of time that myPERFECTresume is not a free service, especially now in the days of paid subscription word processors, is tantamount to theft in my opinion. Shame on you.

Limited number of edits - had to ask them to enable my account to make a few changes, specifically 2 changes, then locked up again.

Lets you download as Word. Doc file.

However, the formatting is such that any text changes do not keep the bullets lined up. No way to remove bullets without destroying format of document.

I only lost 1 afternoon and $2.95 - lesson learned.

It's not fair what you're doing. People think that the preparation of resume is free, and after a few hours work, it turns out that you have to pay $ 1.95 to download the file. Everyone pays, but most frequently forgets to read the small writing at the bottom of e-mail that automatically you are subscribing this service and fee increases to $ 25. In this way, you took me 105 Polish zlotys. It's a lot of money in my country. You should be ashamed, because your offer absolutely isn't worth so much.

If I could give zero stars I would! I made sure I cancelled before the 14 days was up. One week later my account was rolled by these thieves! When I called back Angel told me my cancellation was in the notes and he doesn't know why Vincent didn't cancel! I will be contacting an attorney because you can not just take unauthorized money from people's account!

Your product is overpriced. Pure and simple. These tactics of "50 percent off" and then "my special price" further aggravates me. I snoozed and I lost out on a 2 week free trial. That's on me, but don't insult customers with a price margin you should be offering in the first place.

That's false advertisement and someone of your marketing team should definitely fix that because you all are the first ones to pop up on google when searching "free resume template" and it is obviously not free

I don't know what else to add that has not been said already.

The way the site is set up gives you no real indication of what the REAL COSTS are. The first debit payment I assumed it was a one off, only to find a monthly charge. Spoke to someone about cancelling and was told they would do so... after one more raid of my account. Made sure I copied the whole conversation just in case.

Lesson learned.

I liked the fact that it helps you build a resume, but don't even bother here. You have to pay to get your resume and even then it doesn't go through. I've had fraud prevention service call my cell today to tell me there was recent fraudulent activity on my card and so put a temporary hold on it. Stay well away from this site, as it's not really free.

This company profits on the hope that you won't read the find print. Downloaded a resume for 2.95. I did not receive a confirmation email or anything, but the following month I started getting billed for $35.80. Unfortunately, I didn't catch it for several months. Just what the company hopes will happen. I paid this stupid company a ridiculous amount of money for 1- 2 page resume. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!
In their response they keep saying "I'm so sorry you had this experience", but if they really were sorry they would change their business practices and refund the money they ripped off from people. Any positive reviews on this website are fake!

The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. However there are no fine prints on the page we actually have it on bullets and normal font letters as well we do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s canceled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. There are times that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.
