“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

ATTENTION: please do not base your judgment over some negative reviews, there might be a few bad experiences but perhaps that does not correlate to every experience. I was very pleased by myperfectresume overall, and their customer care service is Fantastic. Wilfredo Rivera made me feel very comfortable and was very polite and kind and clarified my apprehensions in a heartbeat.

I called to make a cancellation on my account because I only wanted to show a template resume to my friend but was charged without my knowledge. So I called right away and Sam helped me with no problem. He was very kind and courteous and was able to get my money back without hesitation. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. He even offered a great deal for my friend if my friend chose to join the site. I definitely will be using this site again when looking for a job. Highly recommend!

I canceled this service twice and still got charged an extra 48$. If you cancel this site they will make you hit cancel my subscription 4 times to actually cancel. And they will hide it so you can't find it. Don't buy the "free trial" because it is impossible to cancel. They also charge your card at 1 am so that you won't see it. This is the first review I have ever left ever.

I had an excellent experience with myperfectresume. It made the process of creating a resume a lot easier and was an excellent value. The customer service was also outstanding. It literally may have been the best customer service experience I have had. I spoke with someone right away after pressing the extension, and they were extremely accommodating.

I went on this site to design a new resume, the appearance was pretty good but the only problem I had was that I was not able to customize the body of the resume the way I wished to, which I unfortunately found out after paying the $1.75, and I ended up creating the website on Word myself and never opened the website again. I was also unaware that I had subscribed to it, and would be charged monthly. So today as soon as I saw the $24.95 charge I called customer care, he cancelled my subscription and said I would receive a refund. I really hope to see a refund. Thanks.

I appreciate the help and I did get a job, but the process of getting the correct resume for me was quite complicated.
I also would really appreciate it if I could get a refund for the monthly payment as I failed to cancel the subscription for this service due to a move for my new job.

I paid 3.95 to update it and called to cancel my membership within two weeks and they kept insisting to stay and I really just wanted to cancel the guy tells me he's going to send me a cancelation confirmation and ends up sending me a receipt for another 4.95 when I said I didn't want the service anymore. They refunded me 3.95 but not the original 4.95 unprofessional i recommend trying a better site.

You believe that you are making a one-off payment, but the site also initiates ongoing, regular payments that are not communicated clearly to you. They include details of the recurring payments in small print in the terms and conditions. In principle the information is available, but in practice, it is presented in a way that is likely to go unnoticed.
They are misleading about the costs. It's obviously a fraud.

I spoke with Orlando. He was helpful and professional. He helped me with a credit for an unwanted charge on our account. It was a smooth resolution. He provided me with confirmation, and assured me our account would be credited. Their website was very easy to navigate, and useful if you need assistance to build your resume.

Don't use this website it is a rip off scam!
After you finish the resume that you have created from the halfass templates,
It asks you to click on a one time fee resume or a monthly fee membership, click the one time fee and you are led to believe its a "1 time fee". NOT TRUE! Your a member anyway,
A Word document Resume can be created better than this! And without the stress of another conniving scheming website company stealing money from people!
A "FREE" resume will cost you 5.00 if you catch there scheme and call to cancel the "Trial Membership" in 10 days or 15 days... otherwise it will cost you 35.00 additional and every month until you catch it. That's BULL$#!@

DO NOT use MyPerfectResume! They are unethical and will rip you off. I downloaded a $2 resume template and ended up being charged $600 for over a year on a monthly recurrring auto charge. They are SNEAKY. They sent me a receipt for the $2 download but never for the $34.95 monthly charge. I have sent them over 10 emails to date and have yet to receive my full refund. Please do NOT use their service.

It can be seen from the amount of people complaining online that this company systematically steals from its customers by railroading them into an automatically renewing subscription. If the customer fails to see the trap while they are organising their resume, then they will be billed a large sum of money monthly. It doesn't matter if the customer doesn't want the subscription, the money is not refunded. The company believes that it is the customers responsibility to cancel a subscription that the company initiates and if the customer fails to cancel the subscription within 14 days that it is deemed to be a legal transaction. Stealing from vulnerable people who have lost their jobs is deplorable. This company is most definitely relying on this automatic subscription entrapment as a main source of revenue. Hence the refusal to refund the customers who are trapped by it. This entrapment is obviously bringing in too much money for the company to want to change.

Tip for consumers:
If you use this site you are supporting the theft of money from unemployed people across the world who need help.

We state this on every page in the purchase process and we send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal upon purchase. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your account settings.

As checked, you were only charged $35.80 and will not be billed any further as it has been cancelled. You still have full access up until April 5th. We have also sent you a cancellation confirmation email for your records.

It would have been nice to know in the beginning that I had to pay at the end. I think this is not fair to people who spend 2 hours creating a resume only to find out it has to be paid for at the very end. The resume making experience was great which is the only reason I paid for it.

I canceled my account in December 2022. I have been billed for 3 months since I canceled. Poor customer service! Total rip off! Be very careful when using this company. This is the second time that this happened to me. I should have learned the first time. Never again!
