“Beware after 14 day trial, it gets expensive for a "free" resume template”

I searched for resume templates and this site advertised as free. Once information is entered, it requires a credit card for a $2.25 charge. What wasn't obvious (later found on the proof of purchase email in the small print) was the "automatic" $23.95 per month charge that comes from the previously entered card. Unfortunately for me (fortunately for this company) I saw this on my card statement three months later.

This is very misleading. I thought I was spending $2.95 on one resume and all the sudden I'm charged $71.95. I'm so upset right now I cant afford to be taken advantage of like that. This is not acceptable I want a refund.

I created a really nice resume with this site that was well worth the $4 it cost, but I forgot to cancel within the initial trial period and ended up paying a very high recurring monthly payment. I was pretty mad, but my customer service rep Xavier was very helpful and polite and helped me resolve my problem.

The link I followed said free resume builder. You should make it clear upfront that there is a fee before people spend the time to fill out your forms. Then there is the recurring subscription fee that is somewhat hidden until you read through thousands of words of legal jargon. Why would you intentionally make yourself look shady?

This company will rob you blind, they have really poor business practices. Its a total rip off! Beware, they will take your credit card number and make multiple charges to your account without your permission.

We’re sorry that you may have gotten the wrong impression of our service and subscription resume builder service. We would like to provide you some information which may clear up any concerns about your account:
Debit attempts were made since your subscription for our 14-day access has expired. When you select one of our 14 day enrollment options, our website provides all details on screen that after the 14th day, you will auto enroll into our monthly service. It also explains that you can cancel at any given time. This alert is also given when the credit card information is requested where our website explains that unless you cancel, you automatically authorize us to charge your account every four weeks at the current rate of the subscription. Lastly, when you finish your enrollment process, an e-mail is sent explaining this as well.

It's too expensive but a good service nonetheless. Job boards are typically free for job seekers and the convenience you offer in creating a resume is great but still not worth $25/month. Otherwise, great product.

Customer service is great when you are leaving! But... I signed up for the trial in April didn't use anything I made that day and then didn't read the fine print that I would be charged automatically. Then never received another notice, overlooked the billing every month and finally cancelled it today after paying for 4 months at a whopping $140. It may not be their fault but I am in business for myself and know that customer billing should be better than that, not their fault but it is their problem; lots of people are less attentive than even I am but will be just as unhappy!. I learned my lesson the hard way but be sure that I will tell everyone who will listen to buyer beware! Not good business!

I literally thought that I was paying like 2 bucks for a resume so at first I thought it was great. Then I noticed they charged my account 35.80 and nowhere did I ever sign up for a membership. I just called to request a refund because who knows how long they have been taking money out of my account. I'm a college student so I better get my money back, literally used the website once.

I really enjoyed the resume and cover letter creation on this site! They made it super easy. The pre-formed bullet points and cover letter verbiage is much better than what I could ever come up with on my own and both were super easy to customize to tailor to any job. As I still haven't actually landed a job yet, I would have liked to continue my subscription, but I think $25/month is just too much.

It was incredibly easy to use and the templates were exactly what I needed. My one wish (well two) is about price transparency. I have no problem paying the very reasonable fee for the 2-week access, but I do not like that it automatically sets you up for a recurring subscription that you have to then go back and cancel. I think it should be optional between a one time/two week fee OR a recurring subscription.

Unbelievable! Thieves, taking $35.80 from my account for the last 2 months. I just contacted my credit card company to dispute this ridiculous charge. Because of these clowns, I have had to close my credit card and will be issued a new number.
UPDATE! Talked to my credit card company and they stated that they have had so many similar complaints from these scam artist. They knew right away who I was talking about. The lady from my credit card company also shared that these clowns should be shut down!

UPDATE: After writing this review, the site did contact me and maintained a business-polite manner. They had agreed to refund three of the 16 months they had been charging my account. When I countered, they didn't respond to my email. They did send me the legal talk about the continuing monthly transactions paired with a screenshot of the site. The screenshot was from 2015; my account was created in 2014. I mentioned that in the same counter email. Still no response. While I do believe that I should pay for the 14 day trial service (that I only used for one day and quit), I think more than a three month refund is in order.

I joined the site 16 months ago, and agreed to pay a one-time fee to create a resume. Upon review of my financial records, my accountant notices that this company has continued to charge me $35 or $36 each month. I messaged the company several weeks ago. I am still waiting for a response.

This website is horrible! Make sure you check your bank account statements because this website took out multiple "0.95" transactions from my account and additional money. They stole over 60$ through all those stupid transactions through my card. I filed for fraud and luckily got it all back but don't give this website your card! I know multiple people that have had the same problem.

I wish I had read all of these reviews before using MyPerfectResume(Not). They repeatedly charged my card and when I tried to cancel by logging in a page came up saying that the page had been removed or deleted. Took me forever to finally cancel it. And they refused to refund my money. Stay away!

Why can't people just be honest about what hidden costs are and do things the right way with integrity. I'm sure there was plenty of fine print that I didn't read, but to put in a couple hours of "free" work and then have to pay to own it is ridiculous. Just tell me up front that it costs to own it. When I inquired I was told the "creation" is free. You just have to pay to print it or download it. Gee maybe I should have just taken my laptop around to places to apply for a job! Dumb

My agent, MPR, kept working on my problem until it was resolved. She helped to edit, and told me how to download, the cover letter, even after no longer having a membership. The letter was in plain text, which was just fine. I was extremely happy with my service.

I needed some assistance with rearranging the chronological order of my work history and to remove extra spacing, etc. Jose was a great resource for me! He taught me how to do the edits myself and was able to work within the limits of my computer system to help get the resume down to two pages. Jose was patient and skilled at the editing and new the program thoroughly. Using this program has saved me so much time and additional frustration. Thanks again Jose for your great assistance!

The process of putting the resume together went well but trying to recover and print was not so easy. Spent time with a customer service person who was able to help but took awhile to adjust what was printing on my end. Would have been much easier to have received an email with the finished product and adjust proportions accordingly.
