Got one for my granddaughters birthday. Put 200.00 on it for her. When she went to use it, some scammer was ready and used up the entire balance amount the second she made a small purchased. Because the scammer purchased games on google for over 180.00 dollars and the money was cleared before anyone knew it was being used, Visa would not refund any of the money and after weeks of requests, and repeated claims, we have heard nothing from Visa.
All I need to do is reset my pin. You can't do it online. You have to call customer service. I tried yesterday to get in and was on hold for over 2 hours gave up. I've been on hold today for 1 hour today so far. I will never forget my pin again and will probably change to a better card when I'm done with this one.
Bought a myvanilla card and put money on at the register. When i received my "permanent" card 2 1/2 weeks later and activated it no money. I have called and they refuse to do anything except tell me put more money on the card. These people suck and will never help you. Better off going through someone else.
Tried to call into customer service to resolve a problem. Waited on hold for over an hour. Customer service rep finally comes on the line, "Hello, Hello, caller I cannot hear you I am disconnecting the call now" Click. Checked my phone. Not on mute. Made phone calls to 2 other people. They could both hear me fine.
Very difficult to register the card and requires personal information. Rude customer service. I opted to withdraw my $130 and bring the card to 0 for close out. That was declined insufficient because of fees. I then withdrew $120. They have even charged $. 75 because of the decline in addition to the ATM fees. Now I have lost $10 plus the initial cost of the card. Also, I'm concerned my personal info is not safe. Never buy this card!
Have tried calling them several times and have spent hours on hold. If they won't let me have access to my $300, they will end up paying me nicely.

You can't use for online purchases unless you have 4-5 hours of sustained patience on phone. Here it is... if you see vanilla on any sort of debit card or gift card, Do not buy. This 3 word sentence/suggestion will be my most beneficial contribution to mankind. Do Not Buy. Go ahead and buy it if you must... have fun with that.
I am so angry I could scream! I just loaded $190 on "My Vanilla" debit card and for whatever reason im unable to use the money for 55 min. Thats bull$#*!. I have basically given the company an hour loan of my money. I am stuck out in the heat needing that money. I cant believe this.

Bought 2 cards at Walgreens. Tried to use them and they showed inactivated. Returned to Walgreens and they said there was nothing the can do. Been on hold with vanilla gift for an hour. Website said the system took an error. Worst customer experience ever!
Ordered a gift card online to be delivered electronically to an email, should be pretty simple and quick. It isn't. Still haven't received the gift card and they have charged my card 6 hours ago. Called them and customer service was no help. Stay away!
Do not use this card if you are expecting to receive a major refund they put in the fine print that you are only able to receive less than 10,000. If you are expecting to receive a major refund, please split it up or use a different bank. This company is associated with Bank Corp and I will not be using any more prepaid cards from this company at all. My funds were rejected and have now been sent back to the irs so I will have to probably wait until 20-30 business days to receive my money.
Do not use this card unless you like unreasonable fees, stupid policies and all around horse crap. Their customer service doesnt service customers. Best bet is to use green dot instead. Seriously dont know how that company exists.

These people are thieves. They charge you ridiculous amounts of money to even make a transaction I mean up to $4 I got charged for a stupid transaction took over $100 of my money that I had deposited in there and did nothing cared nothing to reimburse any of those fees. They are the rudest people I've ever dealt with and I hope if they are legal they go belly up real quick and I would advise anyone if this was the last card on the face of the Earth do not buy it you will lose your $#*!.
Horrible business. I received a $20 vanilla gift card at the hair salon i work at as a TIP. She went out of her way to get the card for me since she didnt have cash and we dont accept card tips. I ordered food for a coworker who was hungry and then the next day, the remaining balance of almost $15 was gone. Sent to a paypal account, I do NOT use paypal. $15 is a lot of money to me, I worked hard for that money. Im seeing a lot of other people experiencing the same exact thing, and what's being done about it? Nothing. I tried calling customer service, waited 11 minutes and nobody picked up. This company will never hear from hundreds of customers again.
They declined a purchase at the register of a gas station. The horrible customer service person informed me that gas station purchases require a $100 hold and it would take 7-10 days for reimbursement. I repeatedly asked why? I could have been trying to buy $30 worth of snacks. It wasn't swiped at the has pump. I requested to speak to a manager. The manager was obviously working from home with dogs barking in the background because that is professional. No one would answer my question just repeat the script.
Do not purchase these gift cards. I never used mine it was still in the package and when I went to use it they said it was already used. I never even took out of the package. When dealing with customer service they give you a run around for months and will not help you.
I got a vanilla debit card, they "could not verify " who I was, wanted my social security card and drivers license faxed to them. I refused. Called and called... No one would even attempt to help me. Could never use the card and now it is expired. NEVER again!
It's cliche but it's true if I could give zero I would put 250 on the card and the and day it was stolen by online shopping in a Walmart in a whole nother state. Then needed 7 days to process the illegal transaction before you can do anything it's been a month still no money so I got robbed would have done better putting my money in the stock market rn even while it's crashing
