Scammed me.
June 19, 2022

I just bought a $50 dollar vanilla visa gift card at family dollar. When I got home, I checked the balance and it said $50 dollars and the card was active. I also remember it saying that it may take 24 hours until usable. I checked the balance on their website every hour because I couldn't wait to use it. I check later and find out someone spent 49 dollars at 6 pm and I bought it at 11 am. It hasn't even been 24 hours. I wasn't even able to use because I tried when I first got home. So how come it worked for the other person. I only have 2 cent left. I bet they gonna take that too.

Horrible company, horrible customer service, ride supervisors specifically harmony. Avoid at all costs, you hear chickens crowing in the background when you call customer service. Theybgave me the run around about location of lost payroll until uncalled the bank that backs them and filed a report with the BBB

I received a 350.00 egift card as a wedding gift only to have it hacked within two days. They bought online video games and left a $1.00 credit for me, the bride. I filed a claim but they said that I won't hear back for 90 days. Not very comforting…maybe Vanilla gift cards should protect our PII better with a password. Thanks to allowing hackers to steal my wedding gift! A 350.00 gift is now $1.00. Will never purchase a Vanilla card since I know that they don't protect your money!

I dont recommend this card some one bought me one of this fir my birthday and after 2 mounth ai still cant use it beacouse i didnt work so they have send me already new cards 2 times such a waste of time i just hope no body else bay these cards

Fraud Card

I received a Vanilla gift card. And it had been used by someone else. They declined my dispute and then continued to say that they did not receive my dispute even though I had an email confirming that they did in fact receive it. Weird. Weird, weird company. Do not get this gift card.

My vanilla took my granddaughters Christmas money we moved i tried an tried to change the address but one excuse after another on why they couldn't change it but figured oh i could still use it to purchase something to be sent no they locked the card up with the money even after answering my security questions correctly they said still could be stolen they are legal crooks protected by the system

Cannot activate
April 26, 2020

I bought this card at the beginning of the month. About a month later, still can't activate it. I tried their website, and even called the number on the back of the card
With no luck. My suggestion is go with green dot card. I had no problem with that card

Do not purchase

I received a gift cardfrom secret Santa.
This card didn't have but 12 numbers for card number so I could not activate. Dec 17 sent proof but yet to have a working card. This is ridiculous.

Absolutely useless, and absolutely garbage customer service. The check balance doesn't work. Expect to wait hours to talk to a real life person after you spend hours getting the right customer service number. And then a 90 day dispute process to even get a refund. GARBAGE.

Biggest Scam Ever
December 13, 2017

I bought a MyVanilla Debit Visa card from CVS and loaded $35 on it. I registered it online but couldn't get it to work with online and in-store purchases. Called their customer service department and they said it wasnt registered, then they said it was registered under someone else's name! They refused to help me and I threw the card in the trash. Thank god I didn't have a higher balance on it, just wasted $35.

They don't tell you - use in a restaurant. AUTOMATICALLY puts 20% of balance 'on hold' with some assumption you want to tip that amount. My dinner for my friends over 100.00. Told waiter put 75.00(full value) on this crap card and the rest on AX. Waiter came back and said will only take 50.00! WTF. AND when I called days later, an illusive hold of $10.00 is still on this card I haven't used! AND - if you want to purchase something MORE than card, pay with other form of payment first OR it will reject. WTF. This card is CRAP. I'm embarrassed but will tell my very kind friend of the issue so she hopefully NEVER uses it as gift to others.

I bought a card and loaded 20 dollars and i don't remember the cents well with covid 19 they where not answering phones so today i called after the country is back to work and the lady said i could not activate my card unless i knew the exact amount i added i said tht is crazy its been two months you havent answered your phones and it is my job to know the exact amount... then she said i could activate it online... well the website doesn't work and i told her that.
If you use this company only use the silver one time cards anything else you will lose your money they have one star for a very good reason... trash company from the top down

Why is it that the computer ask for information and the operator asked me more questions then the computer yet the computer gave me more answers send the operator seems very backwards to me I don't understand how a computer can give me more access to my account then a customer service representative unbelievable very disappointed will no longer use this card again who no longer use your brand again will no longer use your service again and if anyone ask me I'll tell them don't don't trouble yourself it's not worth it

I didn't request this and I got a card in the mail with my name on it. Sure it's not activated but if still if it fell into the wrong hands I'd be up the creek. Plain and simple you should not send me a card with my name on it without my consent. No way no thank you not now not ever

I bought to my Vanilla prepaid Visa cards more than three weeks ago. I have not been able to use them, because I cannot activate them. I have called and have waited for more then 2 hours on hold and nothing, yes 2 hours! I have tired to register online. I now have more then 100$ that i can not use. Being home because we have stay-at-home orders and not being able to order what we need is bull $#*!. Never again. Worst card ever worst prepaid card ever.

Don't use this card.

I have a MyVanilla card that I purchased and registered over a year ago. Yesterday, I decided to pull it out, call MyVanilla to that it was still active and useable (which they confirmed that it was) so that I could load it up and pay some minor bills. So I put $47 on it to pay 2 bills, plus I paid the $3.95 My Vanilla load fee. Yesterday, I successfully paid one bill.
Today, I attempted to pay the second bill and My Vanilla keeps "declining" the transaction. I called to inquire why and they took me through an account verification process, "lied" and said I failed the account verification process, and froze my account. Then they had the nerve to tell me I would have to pay $9.95 to close the account, that they would subtract from the $37 I put on the card yesterday to pay a bill, and that they would send the remaining balance via a check in 30 days to an address I have not been at in over 1 year.

Capitalism at it's finest...

My mom purchased gift cards for my kids for Christmas and when I went to use the card that was never used or opened before it was declined. I called to hear recent transactions and there were numerous charges for google. I then called customer service and they verify the same google fraudulent charges. It's been 3 months and I hadn't heard anything and the other day received a $10 gift card which was the original amount left on the card after the scammers so basically nothing was resolved. My mom is out the money she spent on this cards and one of my kids is out a Christmas gift from their grandma. Don't waste your money buy a different card or use Venmo or Zelle

Right now it's set up to protect the criminals! There needs to be better security. The thieves are hacking the online site! There needs to be two factor authentication to get your account online! Too many people are being victimized! The crooks take off with your money, laugh, have fun, and you are waiting paitently for a dispute claim for 44 to 90 days! You have no money! You the honest paying customer are out of luck! "O" money! The person who received your kind gift is also out of money for 44 to 90 days! This is just not right!
People work hard! They get a nice gift! They get all excited and go to a merchant. It's declined! Someone stole their money off the card! Horrible! There needs to be a better security system and a better way! Because right now it looks like crooks are being favored!

This company's employees are so rude. I waited 30 mins for them to say they can't tell me no information even though this is my fathers card and I know ALL of his information. The girl didn't even say sorry for the wait or nothing, all I heard on the background was laughing and chatter couldn't even hear the lady. They are so rude! After the girl told me she can't do nothing did even say sorry or nothing pretty much just ingored me. I will definitely not be using their service anymore.

Not trust worthy

Don't use vanilla gift card on ebay or Amazon, these cards are not trust worthy. Only use Amazon gift card or ebay gift cards. Personally don't trust any vanilla gift card, there a dishonest card company and not trust worthy
