Since being with MyVanilla I've had to get four replacement cards usually because costumer service not being able to put in the proper info to access the account and they end up suspending the card until your able to send the proof you are the card holder, then you have to wait for a replacement card. Next they don't send out term changes they say it's our responsibility to go on line to find out if there's been any changes. Now they've slipped in an extra $1 for ATM withdraws when they never actually never charged anything but they 50 cent transaction fee for all transactions at that time. Now it's 95 cents with an extra dollar to withdraw from an ATM. Bottomline they don't care about the customer all they care about is our money.

Scam card

Cannot believe retailers still sell this card. They should be liable for the scammed amounts. Was gifted a $500 vanilla gift card. The amount was depleted before I could use the card. Could not reach anyone at vanilla to get help. Don't buy this card!

Scam
April 28, 2020

I received a $100 gift card for my birthday and was never able to activate it.
I was on hold the first time for 30 minutes before I gave up. I tried again today and was on hold for almost two hours before I gave up again.
Seems like they just steal your money and ask for your social security online for whatever reason.
Wtf is wrong with you people

This company is the biggest piece of $#*! company I've ever dealt with. They should be boycotted and ran into bankruptcy and closed. The $#*! you have to do to get this card activated... copy in color of ID and ssn and a bill with your name on it... WTF!
Then wait they receive it and ok it to use a card you paid your money for. I'll never use this lowlife company again and hope to see them go under in the near future. Now they want a rating that offers no place to not give a star at all. One star is too good for this pile of $#*! company that's for sure.

So i have been using myvanilla debit cards since 2015 never one time have i had any issues or bad customer service until these last couple months( April- current) they deactivated my card without my knowledge or consent and now i have had to call them 5 times for a replacement card since mind u i have money in my acct. And here i am 2 whole months later and no card. (4 th card sent out again today,) once my replacement card finally arrives which by the way, they want to try and charge me $21.00 to get the shipping expedited, i will be removing all my money and closing out all 3 accounts i now have with this company and i will no longer use this company.

Thieves!

I bought this card and loaded $500 dollars onto it. I paid in CASH too! I walked across the street and tried to use it and it was declined, twice. When I called they told me that the card wasn't activated. I had to email a copy of the receipts and a copy of the front and back of the card. Along with a bunch of personal information. They said that it could take up to 45 to 90 days to resolve. I can't believe they're allowed to still operate. Avoid them like the plague!

DON'T PURCHASE THESE!

I received a $500 gift card from my employer December 2021. I went to register it and check the balance (I had NOT used it and it had been in my wallet the whole time) and it showed $10.27. There were 2 charges to Target. I've been calling them since then only to get the run-around. These people are crooks. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE CARDS! I would have given them ZERO stars if that was an option. I am still contacting them every 72 hours only to continue to get the same message: we apologize and call back in 48-72 hours. WHAT A SHAM!

You will not be reimbursed

They promised to reimburse me my funds if I was ever robbed or my card was ever stolen or used illegally. Well, I had my card stolen. And so I put in a complaint form followed by my police report and they still did not reimburseme me my money. I did it three times and they denied me on all accounts. They are frauds! Do not give them your money!

I purchased a $250 Vanilla Gift Card for my father for his 80th birthday. He was never able to use it, as someone had already spent it on GOOGLE play purchases of $5.00 each. I called on 4 separate occasions, filed a complaint as I was asked to do, with copies of the receipt, the card, etc. The card was purchased in August of 2021, it is now May of 2022 and there has NOT been a resolution. NEVER again!

Scam
July 26, 2020

While I generally use Walmart Gift cards, I was too busy today to go and get one so instead I went to a Dollar General a block away and put $300 onto one of these cards. Well, as it usually takes a few hours for the card to load the money and be able to register, I had waited 5 hours to try, just to receive a "KYC Failed" banner at the top of the page. Not only does the card not even work, but they now have my SSN, which I should have been more cautious about. I'm not sure what's happened with this company, since I've gotten a few years ago and they worked fine. Either way, don't waste your money- I work making $7.25/hr and basically used 2 weeks pay on this card which is incredibly frustrating.

Got Scamed
October 5, 2022

I made a purchase with the vanilla visa card back in July never received product as of August 20th so put in a dispute with the card company it is now October spoke to customer service today about my dispute they said they closed the case no dispute on there end after there review so basically I'm screwed out of 100.00 so I basically told them they can take there card and shove it. Dont use this company there a BIG SCAM

Rip off artist

These people want to hold my money for 2 months. This is unacceptable. I tried to get a ride from uber and the driver never showed. I canceled the trip. I can't get anyone from uber to release the funds and my vanilla card refuses to release the funds. They have lost my business.

Fraudulent waists of money Don't buy one

So I purchased a card at dollar General and put $180 on the card got home and tried to order a phone off straight talk website my card was declined then I went online to my account and all but. 20 cent was gone was drained of all of my money and didn't purchase nothing so I went back to dollar General and they won't do nothing then I called the card and all I get is foreign people who can't even speak English who I can't understand and the card shows I haven't purchased nothing but then shows a 179.80 transaction pending to "pingpong.com" $#*!ing fraudulent scammers I doubt I'll get my money it's a complete waisted of time

Purchaced $100.00 card and had the worst time when my daughter needed to use it. It took a lot to register it and ONLY $40.00 was able to use of the $100.00, the balance this company took it and will NOT give us the money back!

Bought 100.00 card at Walmart, to use that day. First Purchase was gas. Paid at pump, 30.00... checked balance later same day when card was declined, they put a hold of 75.00 on the gas purchase. Called and told me it would not release for 72 hours!... 75.00 for 30.00 of gas, left me with 25.00 for the day when I had other items to pay for that I didnt want to use my personal credit card for ( ie online purchase ect) NEVER AGAIN. Called 2x asking them to release funds, refused! Said I had to wait. NEVER EVER AGAIN

A list of more thing that i cannot do with the card versus what i can do. Which confusing and deceptive. I just want my money back and I'm not sure im getting it back ever.(i purchased a vanilla card at at a retailer i proceded to reload the card at the counter at the time of purchase but when i tried to activate the card the system was having difficulties registering the card for 6 days of trying to activate the card when i finally got to talk to a live operator i was notified that due to many attempts of try to register the card or activate the card i can no longer activate the card to withdraw my money($370.00) at the atm or any where that it can be done this is the worst of the worst prepaid cards services.do not attempt to do any business with my vanilla card..

The card was used in a store and the item was returned and money refunded - I called customer service and they said 7-8 days before the transaction would be seen. I kept monitoring the card and the money never went back on- they blamed the store and I went back there. The store manager was kind enough to do another refund and I saw it online through the vanilla site, then when it said "pending refund" the entire card was deactivated by Vanilla. I then called again, and they said they had to "open a case" -- I still do not have the $50 that was refunded to me, yet, I have spent a great deal of my time dealing with the card and their "run-around" service. I would NEVER recommend purchasing this brand.

Unreliable thieves

Their loss prevention is a joke. I informed them that money was stolen from my card, found the website that had been hacked and proved that the computer program subscription that was purchased with my card was NOT on any of my devices. The company that they contact to Incomm quickly reimbursed the stolen funds and I thought we were done.
A month later I get an email saying they are taking the money from my account because they don't believe it was fraudulently used. I asked it's subscription to a computer program through a well-known company. Why wasn't the subscription canceled? Now I have to pay them back doubling the amount that I have now lost. Useless is too kind a word for this. I have been a customer for years and never once had to file a claim and when I did I did most of the work them. It would have been better if they didn't reimburse the money as now again I am being stolen from twice. I wish I could give negative stars. They deserve -

Attempted to use a prepaid Vanilla Visa card, after the transaction failed multiple times I logged into my balance account. Everything appeared to be fine so I attempted again. I was then unable to log back into my balance account because of "System error". I tried calling support and was told my card wasn't activated and I couldn't purchase items because the card doesn't have my name on it... The support member told me he had activated my card, yet I still cannot log on because of "system error". Very unhappy
