This card is a tot scam and no one should ever buy this. I bought a $300 vanilla Visa debit gift card and the moment I got it I tried to activate it but the phone number given on the back of the gift card is disconnected! Then I tried to check balance online but it repeatedly says there's some kind of system error. The last draw was when I called the listed customer service number and the VANILLA VISA REPRESENTATIVE told me that I called the wrong number and the only information he could give me is to call the disconnected phone number on the back of the card!?!? WTF? I will NEVER purchase this card again, its a total scam and I'll Probably never get reimbursed for my $300 went up in smoke. Why are these cards still on the shelf in grocery stores? Oh and by the way, this card will get declined if you're trying to do any online shopping. So furious!

BIG TIME FRAUD!

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO REGISTER THIS STUPID MYVANILLA CARD FOR TWO DAYS WITH NO SUCCESS! CALLED THIS NUMBER *******513 OVER 10 TIMES, WAITED FOR A TOTAL OF 8 HOURS AND NO ONE HAS ANSWERED. I BOUGHT THIS CARD FROM WALMART AND DEPOSITED $300. WALMART DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO RETURN THIS RIDICULOUS CARD. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE WALMART!

SCAM!

I bought the card thinking its reloadable, tried to register online and would not go through, called 800# they claimed my information did not match their database, BEWARE because they get your personal information, so I'm stuck with an unregistered card no name on it but money on it, I can't reload

HORRIBLE

I ORDERED OVER $2000, WORTH OF CARDS AS A GIFT FOR MY EMPLOYEES, NONE OF THEM WORKED. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND FIGHTING WITH THEM FOR 3 MONTHS TO GET MY CARDS ACTIVATED. THEY PUT IN A CASE NUMBER SAYING THEY WERE WAITING FOR WALMART TO VERIFY. SO I DONE A THREE WAY CALL WITH WALMART AND VANILLA. THEY GAVE ME A NUMBER THAT WAS A REPORT FRAUD NUMBER! I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE TO ANYONE NOR WILL I EVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Worst card ever
June 30, 2018

After purchasing and card and loading 300 on it I left home for a couple days to find the card tampered with so I contacted my vanilla to report it and found out someone tried to use it. So I filed a dispute and sent them proof of receipt, card, and my id and still I sit in limbo waiting for 2 weeks now to get my money refunded. This is total B. S. DONT USE THIS CARD WORST SERVICE EVER

I was given this card with $500. I used it to buy KFC and the next day it was "not valid" customer service says they can't pull up any info on it and told me I'm out of $450. Idk who to contact at this point but DO NOT USE THEM!

My vanilla

This is the absolute worst prepaid card I've ever had, I have not been able to use the card almost every time I have tried and it has over 8k on it, absolutely embarrassing when Everytime you try to make a purchase it is declined for no apparent reason I will have all my money transferred to another account and will never have another my vanilla

They dont tell you that if you use the card to purchase sometime BEFORE registering it WE WONT BE ABLE TO RELOAD THE CARD! Even after I called to get help activating it I thought everything was find but NO WASTE OF $4.00 These $#*!ing people are SCAM ARTIST. WHY would they want us to buy ANOTHER card to reload when we just bought one! Once used without registering it the card is GARBAGE! UNREFILLABLE. They will NOT allow money to go in if the card has been used ONCE! If it was not registered first! Which should have been CAREFULLY EXPLAINED.

Worst card ever
November 11, 2020

I bought this card to be able to have one sent to my stepson in his name and so I could reload money onto it when he needed it, he lives 2800 miles from us and the while purpose of this card was denied because they couldn't verify him 2 times so it no longer became a reloadable card but a card with only the money value on it... What a waste of my money CAUTION..

This company took $85 from me! Everytime I call I get someone that doesn't speak English and wants to tell me your funds will be available 24 to 48 hours! Well it's been 3 weeks and my money still isn't on the card! I learned the hard way about using this card at the gas pump because I spent $25 for gas and they took $110 and of course the 95 cent per transaction fee! I called the card and listened to the transactions it didn't say anything about $85 but I didn't have that available on the card. When I call they just give me the same answer everytime I call! So BEWARE! DO NOT GET THIS CARD THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY! Plus I think it's only 2 people that answers the phones and it sounds like they're in the own home because I hear kids crying on the back ground! The 3rd time I'd called I started asking questions the man hung up on me. THIS CARD IS A SCAM!

They knew that pending balance is zero but they didn't let me buy anything on the gift card. I would not recommend this card for a gift to anyone. The policy and customer service is terrible.

This company is a SCAM

I purchased a "Vanilla Gift Card" weeks ago, and have yet to receive it. I have tried talking to the people who answer the phone there, and they are incompetent. They claimed I got the card and have been using it, but that is absolutly NOT TRUE. They are liars and this is a fraud. I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau, but since I don't think they even have a U.S. office, it probably won't do any good. It's not the $200 that bothers me as much as their complete disregard for their "customers" who are innocent victims of their fraud. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. You will be sorry.

Vanilla visa rip off

Stay away it is amazing visa still allows this company put their name on it.
Got a card back in July and it had only 12 numbers on it, filed my first case with them on July 29th 2021 and it is now January 28th I have Been fighting them for 6 months now, and now they just hang up on me. They just take the money and run.
Visa should be ashamed to have their name on these cards.
(STAY CLEAR OF ANY VANILLA CARD) unless you just want to give your money away to this rip off company.

QUICK UPDATE... AFTER IT TOOK PULLING AN ARM AND LEG TO GET ACCESS TO MY OWN MONEY THAT WAS DEPOSITED TO THE PREPAID CARD, FOUND OUT THEY ALSO CHARGE YOU. 50 CENTS EVERY TIME YOU USE THE CARD. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT IT IS, JUST BUYING GROCERIES, PAYING BILLS, ETC., YOU GET CHARGED THE 50 CENTS EACH TIME YOU USE YOUR OWN MONEY!

OH, ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT DRAFTS TO PAY BILLS, THEY REJECT THEM! I WENT BACK TO NETSPEND PREPAID CARD WHICH I NEVER EVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS MY VANILLA BS AGAIN!

I got the Prepaid Debit Card for the very first time and had my whole payroll check direct deposited! I got a deposit on Monday, tried to use the card on Tuesday and did not work. I called customer service and found out that they put a Restriction on my card. I would have NEVER even know if I had not called in to customer service. They said I needed to send in identity verification and don't you think that I somehow should have been notified of that information. I emailed the requested information to email address they provided and did receive an automated email response that the information was received! Called back today and they act like they have no idea what I am talking about, and that they did not receive the information and would have to resend it! I AM TOTALLY BEYOND PISSED! I submitted drafts for mortgage and car payments that now probably did not even go through because I did not know card was restricted, and cannot even buy groceries for my kids when my account shows over $3000 from my Payroll was deposited! WHO CAN WE CALL TO REPORT THEM, THE GEORGIA CONGRESS MAN, BBB?

Do not get this loadable prepaid card. It's a scam and I'm not sure how they're still in business. Putting in legal complaint with their bank, Bancorps. If you charge something and the merchant declines because they don't accept myvanilla as payment, myvanilla will automatically put your funds on hold for 7 days minimum. Even though it was declined. Even if you have the merchant fax them a letter of no intent to accept payment. This is criminal. Plus they charge you 95 cents every time you use it and charge 3.98 to put money on your own card. Imagine walking in a store and using your card to buy something only to find its declined even though you have sufficient funds, and your funds become put on hold. They steal your money to gain interest off. They say it shows as pending even if declined. The whole thing is poor business practice and legalized theft. I'm considering taking full legal action. Do not get this card. You'll regret it. Plus they don't tell you when you buy the card and activate it and add funds that you have to register it. You add money and think you have funds then through a bunch of nonsense and have to send them a receipt while they put your money on hold. It's one giant scam.

First of all I wanted to buy one because I can't get my own card yet and i hate using cash. I put $80 on and when i went to pay for my dinner This $#*! literally said pending THIRTY TWO CENTS! Scammed my money buy something else and last time the same thing happened.

Terrible!

I bought the MyVanilla debit card and was unable to "verify that I was real." I'm pretty sure that I'm real and I've lived in my residence long enough to verify that. I even sent in the required paperwork to verify myself and still was unable to. So after lots of long calls I finally got to the point where I had to get a refund, for which I was charged a ten dollar fee, which I don't think is fair because it's not my fault that it was flawed. It has also taken me about a month to get my money back from them, and I was extremely worried whether or not I was actually going to get my money back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Scam of a company
August 12, 2019

I bought a Visa Vanilla prepaid gift this afternoon and activated it at 1:12 pm. I loaded $265 onto the car to spend on bills; however, after activating my card I sat down and paid a bill for $9.99 and then another for $61.91 in one setting which left $193.10 on the card. Within the next couple of hours 21 TWENTY ONE online purchases were made for a company called Nitro Discord, which is apparently some sort of Australia based website to buy online video games, totalling $140 leaving $53 left on the card. I have never once heard of this company not did I know anything about it until I looked it up. There is no number or customer support to get ahold of on their website to file any sort of complaint. I called the number on the back of Vanilla gift card and was told to file a dispute that will take 45-90 days before I even hear anything about the issue. Meanwhile, the card was deactivated along with the $53 that was still on the card and now I won't have access to that balance until the 45-90 dispute period is up. I bought the card in it's cardboard box from a CVS, went straight home and opened it, then tucked it away in my purse and that's where it stayed until I pulled it back out to pay the rest of the bills I had intended it for. Long story short, this company is garbage, customer service is zero help, and they scammed me for $193 within a matter of hours.

Attached is just SOME of the 21 unauthorized transactions that were made today.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CARD! In addition to what everyone else wrote on here, there are hidden fees for not even activating it right after purchase! And to register the card to activate, you must provide your SSN & other personal info (which is unknown at time of purchase) and you cannot return it (at Walmart).

DO NOT Waste your time and money! Protect your Personal Information!
