Thank you for being a neighborhood outlet that reunited a lost puppy with her family. Because of this forum a neighbor was able to see the ad spot the dog and make a call. 100x over - this was a Wonderful blessed experience
The "leads" lead you to believe that they are fair and unbiased. And Nextdoor leads you to believe that your privacy is paramount. When a neighbor joins, the request gets sent to a "lead" to verify if that person is really in the neighborhood. The leads are picked arbitrarily. If you are not part of that lead's clique on Nextdoor, your posts are all flagged as inappropriate and they gang up on you. Besides the rest of the bigoted and racists posts (all of this coming from people who consider themselves part of an extremely left leaning neighborhood of "tolerance"), everything else is nothing but drama. If I wanted to read drama, I'd just log onto TMZ or Facebook. At least that's entertaining
This site clearly says no politics in their terms but this does not apply to Trump supporters. I noticed someone was promoting a Trump rally in my community. I tried to flag the post because I thought nextdoor.com was not the proper platform to do this. I was told it did not meet the requirements but here's where it gets weird when I tried to leave a comment and voice my opinion nextdoor.com disabled my right to leave a comment on that post.
Just disgusting. I get it your Trump supporters but the entire community should have the same rights regardless of their race, color or their political party. My opinion matters just as much as someone else's. Shame on you for political segregation and violating the rights of everyone who is not a Trump supporter.
One of our neighborhood leads posted a warning about a "nazi" meeting in our neighborhood, and warned everyone to stay away. It turns out is was a "get out the vote" rally put on by a local conservative group. After alerting Nextdoor of the issue, I was told that post was not in violation of any of their policies. This disgusting, ANTIFA behavior has no place on a neighborhood website. Steer clear of NextDoor.com.
The app could be more user friendly and better organized. However, in this day of automation... where neighbors aren't meeting each other face to face (not like the used to)... this is a great way to share neighborhood information. In my area we've shared; mail issues and contacts to resolve the issue // window washing recommendations // crime information and prevention // job information... etc.
I have recommended this app to family and friends to get connected.
Next Door is very valuable to me & the neighborhood where I live. It has helped me with safety/crime alerts in the city or near by. It is very helpful in finding names of trusted individuals or companies that provide handyman, plumbing, home repair, landscaping/mowing/trimming, snow plowing. Also alerts of lost & found animals in the area. Our alderman is great at keeping us all up to date & announcing neighborhood meetings & ordinances.
Just a site designed to receive revenue from businesses from their dismal referral and advertising program. The site itself seems to be a bunch of bitter Karens brow beating the world if you do not tow their false narratives and of course it is also a neighborhood gossip and $#*! about everything site. Not recommended!
This website is definitely a harbor of right wing rage at everyone that isn't white, or upper middle class. Calling people out for literally calling for the rounding up of poor people to be shipped out of their area just got my account deactivated.
Most people in Nextdoor are there to cause trouble, Harass and to just be total Morons in every sense of the word. I am Friendly Hills West. Colorado. Nothing Friendly about these people.
This is Social Media at it's worst. For every problem the mention of Call The Police is their solution.
Someone should call the Police and get these idiots off the Computer and Back to Real society.
If I could give a Negative 5 rating, that would be to Nice.
I Know my Neighbors personally, And these people would be Run Out Of this neighborhood.
Especially if they lived Nextdoor To Me!
The most dangerous invader of personal safety and privacy on the web! If you are a young person or a vulnerable single woman, especially, DO NOT go near this site with a barge pole. I am a six foot male and I will not sign up and put my security and my family at risk. Burglars, computer hackers, ID fraudsters, there is no limit to how this site leaves you wide open. Suppose you are police officer, suppose you are an actor with a stage name, an author with a pen name, suppose you famous or wealthy at risk from kidnappers and nutters. This is an explosive DANGEROUS website, their motives for wanting your home address must be vulture like commercial, they probably want to junk mail to death, and know the value of your house.
I posted about a cat I moved off the road that had been killed by a car. They deleted it but the owner saw my message before it was deleted and got to bury her beloved animal. I deleted my account after that. What asininos!
All of the time there is a problem with commenting on and reacting to people's posts and when you try and get in touch with them to find out why, there basically is no way to communicate with Nextdoor. Such a shame, when this app started I thought this was a step in the right direction connecting people locally and democratically and helping people share notes and ideas for a better more fair future. This seems like mobocracy all over again; sad that some people have such a hard time playing fair but it certainly does help explain the state of the world...
Just recently rewrote their rules to do a CYA for themselves.
They royally left me to be racially raped due to their insistence on their then rules but changed to protect themselves.
Since having the local sheriff out to see the damage to my property, and requesting that I be allowed, can you image, to be provided two way connection to NextDoor, they have done nothing.
I would to just get reconnected but they are making it even harder to communicate.

Nothing has caused more hard feelings between neighbors in my community than Nextdoor. Our lead, or moderator, is a control freak who deletes all posts that disagree with her own opinion and is abusive to neighbors in her own posts. Nextdoor apparently has no way to control the quality of their leads (or doesnt care) and is completely unresponsive to complaints. Stay away unless you love misery.
Having enjoyed using Streetlife for about two years, I was hoping to find something similar in NextDoor, but it comes as a disappointment. The division of the former area into small neighbourhoods seems unnecessary and can be frustrating. In particular, I have so far found it impossible to send a post to several neighbourhoods simultaneously. I also find it difficult to see a record of my posts.
Overall, Nextdoor proves its value by allowing neighbors to exchange ideas, find lost pets, share relevant local information, reviewing businesses and linking neighbors with like interests. While I agree with censorship when it comes to profanity, harassment and other bad behaviors, ND does tend to censor/ remove posts if you have a conservative POV without violating the behaviors listed. Many folks have commented on this.
Now they are banning people for reporting the pLandemic conspiracy theorists and others spreading dangerous misinformation, even though they have a link for such a purpose! Asking for a review of their decisions in these matters fall on deaf ears.
Nextdoor will only allow comments that they like and will not allow any controversy. They have censored people from putting up salaries of certain individuals in our area because it might be a safety issue?! They will not allow anyone to say negative regarding POA issues. Not worth being on Nextdoor if you can not constructively voice opinion yet if you are with the POA they can bad mouth and make snide remarks! Shame on you Nextdoor Team of Hippocrits!
I totally agree with other critical reviews. I was on this for a few months. These people were nothing but mean and cruel to each other. My "Neighbors" went so far as to hope I get Covid and die from it. These people vote. No wonder our country is going downhill with these bullies. I deleted my account and the app. HORRIBLE.
People don't waste your time with Nextdoor, it's nothing but racist white Trumptards spewing hate and conspiracy. Omg and whining bitter nosy Karen's. The funny thing is when you call them on their bull "S they pout and cry and report you. If you like to be bombarded with emails with people constantly whining about everything then next-door app is for you.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
