Fact deniers acting like Big Brother and would take the side of criminal activity. Very pathetic indeed.
Cant say anything but extremely frustrating signing up and finding a neighborhood. Poor experience. I'm unsubscribing immediately.
Next door allows elected officials to be leads & censor comments from citizens that do not ageee with their political agenda. Its a joke.
Shocking breach of data security. Map shows my house to everyone. Deleted app and closed account. Streetlife was amazing such a shame
It's handy for what's going on in the neighborhoods, referrals etc I should not have to type one hundred Characters
Great app to get info from neighbors and local businesses. Helpful informatio about events happening in my area.
This application helps communicate happenings around our neighborhoods. It is excellent and MUCH appreciated!
Nextdoor has been great for finding services, sales, free items & connexciting with my neighbors! I have recommended it too many people:-)
Nextdoor enlarges the area about which I have neighborly exchanges. My "back fence" goes much farther than it used to. Thanks.
Ms. Handi did an outstanding job handing our round mirror. I highly recommend her for your mounting task.
Very interesting and informative! People shouldn't take things said personally. Getting angry is not constructive. Just state the facts.
My account was deactivated after I copied information with a link from the CDC website. It is extremely political.
Nextdoor is fraught with problems. We had one woman using it in her 80s who, due to eyesight, typed in all caps. Virtually no one on Nextdoor would accept her handicap and accused her of shouting. She didn't understand browser or display zoom to use lower case. Despite that she was active for awhile and contributed. Her contributions were worthwhile and insightful. Eventually she was stalked online by someone in the neighborhood who took the time, at 2 AM, to sequentially flag all of her posts. It was very upsetting and stressful for her. Nextdoor offered zero support in identifying the stalker and deactivating their account. All of this information was clearly in their log files. This was escalated all the way to the CEO who did nothing. The woman dropped off Nextdoor. About 6 months later, after all the damage was done, Nextdoor identified the perp who had already moved out of the neighborhood.
Nextdoor is also increasingly political, and following a national trend of social media, highly left-leaning. If you're a member of Antifa you'll fit right in. I've seen some very hostile posts by know-it-all bullies attacking simple benign suggestions or comments. I've also begun to see a pattern of progressive social justice warriors now using Nextdoor as a platform. Moderation is non-existent. The email notifications you will receive - bombarded with is more descriptive - will contain the rants, ravings and unwanted opinion of everyone unemployed, mentally-ill or home-bound and bored person in your neighborhood.
My advice to everyone is to consider Nextdoor just as toxic as Facebook, Twitter and most television. Very little has been accomplished in improving our neighborhood using Nextdoor. Get a dog instead.
I tried for years to help build this site into one that was usable by normal human beings. I used to think this site, with its incredible assets in groups and topics,
Would go beyond the bulletin-board quality of the Newsfeed. My reward for this has been to get banned for life--my offense was attempting to get them to fix a glitch that was chasing away Users left and right. It came at just about the perfect time--thanks to Mr. Musk's Twitter wars, I realize that most of their "members" and "viewers" are robots spying on your posts and doing their best to steal your information.
Confirmed this to my own satisfaction by posting to several of their "Groups" with any number of tidbits that should have provoked extensive chatter. Nada. There seem to be no people on any group except for a very few regular contributors.
ND gives you Post Insights which suggest you have tens of thousands of people seeing your post to their Newsfeed. What you have is a few people checking in again and again plus the aforementioned robots looking at it THOUSANDS of times.
My regret with this site, which now seems to have extremely sparsely utilized neighborhoods, is that when it inevitably goes dark there is no competition save in a few select neighborhoods--naturally those are the very ones that least need such a service for their disenfranchised and their shut-ins.
Experience in two different 'hoods tell me otherwise. Also, from the comments
In ND reviews, neighborhoods become defacto right or left, and exorcise any in-betweeners.
So it's not really a fit place to discuss anything BUT your lost or found pet. "Moderators" in
Some cases are overly zealous, in others, absent in the face of any controversy.
As for use in emergencies, if there's a 3.0 earthquake(I write from California), you get twenty posts that ask, Did You Feel That? Of course these quakes are almost always too small to be WORTH talking about anywhere.
In short, ND offers nothing to see here, At least nothing of value.
(This is a replacement of earlier, more positive reviews which I now regret.)

John lol. Let's look at your guy Trump. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-shared-psychosis-of-donald-trump-and-his-loyalists/?amp=true
They have commented on Trump's alleged paranoid, sadistic, and psychopathic tendencies; diagnosed him with narcissistic personality disorder; and suggested he might suffer from neurological conditions like dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Naturally, many have questioned his fitness to serve as the President of the United States. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/finding-new-home/*******/diagnosing-trump-mental-illness?amp
But you know Trump is sooo much better right?
It's important to keep in mind that Nextdoor websites are designed to bring neighbors together in a meaningful and helpful way. Our intentions are to help neighbors build stronger, more close-knit communities. Always being respectful and civil is essential to the health of a Nextdoor neighborhood.
Your account will remain disabled until at least 5/30/22. At that time, you can log into your account and access your Nextdoor neighborhood after checking a box stating that you agree to following the Guidelines.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

I was a member of my local NextDoor for a number of years both without issue AND with an appreciation of how it allowed neighbors who are rarely SEEN to actually get to know each other and communicate regarding relevant issues. I actually preferred over Facebook for local events and sale items. However, last November, just prior to the state election, I posted (just to my subdivision only) that my mailbox had been tampered with and posted a picture of what had been put in it. Within eight hours, the thread took on a life of its own with neighbors sniping at each other regarding their political beliefs on MY post without any other input from me! When I saw all this, I immediately asked people to STOP, reiterated that it was a crime to tamper with a federally owned mailbox and was going to close the discussion (and probably just delete the whole thing). Minutes later I started getting personal attacks in my Inbox for closing the comments section! I then took pictures of the entire thread and the comments I received for before deleting the Original post. The next day, I went to get on Next Door and found I could not open the app at all. A few days later, I received a response from NextDoor corporate stating that my account had been suspended for violating their Community Standards regarding Political Discussions! I then sent them the snaps of the thread and only got a response asking if I was "willing to promise not to ever violate Community Standards again" and if I did, I would have my account reactivated. Needless to say, I was OVER being a member of NextDoor and the Orwellian/Gestapo-like feel that now goes with it. Such a sad way to run a website that had so many positive possibilities.
Nextdoor is a place where neighbors come together - to be jerks to each other and to report "suspicious" people. If anybody has a disagreement, they get to be harassed by people who know their name and address. Also, there are definitely the racists mentioned by others who exist in every Nextdoor neighborhood and who just talk about suspicious people who turn out to be people of different ethnicities that they don't like seeing walk through "their neighborhood". It is vile.
The site admins are ill-equipped to handle anything, and they let bully neighbors abuse the reporting policy to get people banned. Not a problem for me and many others because we were smart enough to see that and all the other issues happening and deactivated our accounts (also, you have to request that your Facebook data is removed manually by Nextdoor if you've connected your accounts, just FYI and again didn't apply to me but may to you).
It is also great for criminals to use, to get really good information (including name and address) on people in a neighborhood (and yes, you can get access to information outside your neighborhood and even an account in another neighborhood pretty easily) to use to commit crimes. Any criminal who can gather basic data right in front of their face already has enough to do very well using Nextdoor but a criminal who adds good social engineering skills could (and probably does) clean up in multiple neighborhoods!... as long as the criminal isn't an ethnicity that gets reported by the racists in all of these Nextdoor "neighborhoods". It isn't building community it is dividing and dangerous. Avoid this "service" like the plague.
There is no way I can recommend this absolutely horrible app in good faith to my fellow man.
This site is so corrupt and biased, and ran so poorly. It's shameful and embarrassing for this corporation.
It's a shame, because the site could have a good premise. But unfortunately, the corporation, CEO, and minions Destroyed this site- for Possibly being a decent helpful neighborly site.
The moderators, leads, and customer support team are completely juvenile, and vindictive, Along with not following the company guidelines.
When you are active on the site, everybody tattles on everybody for trigger words and comments. It's Extremely childish.
The moderators and leads do not adhere to the company policy guidelines, but intern they pick and choose what they feel is incorrect lingo by their feelings; Not by the company guidelines!
When you write the company to report an issue, such as a poor moderators and a vindictive leads. You will either be ignored, Receive an incompetent representative, who Clearly does not read your complaint, nor cares, and just writes back with a bunch of misinformation, or they will deactivate your account for being difficult Because you wish to accuse a fellow team member. Hence the word, vindictive.
This company prides itself on being neighborly, kind, nondiscriminatory, non-bulling, and racist. But yet they are all the above.
Who wants to be on a site that behaves like teenagers? I sure don't.
Do yourself a favor before you join this app.
Do your own research.
Start with the Better Business Bureau. 99% one star reviews with the same complaint I am writing above. There are also other review sites that are exactly the same.
If that is not enough evidence for you not to join this toxic site, then I don't know what to tell you.
And to end; The site does nothing regarding assisting the fellow neighbor, other than the occasional lost dog or lost cat. It really is a waste of time.
Another great tax perp session with Madan Arora. I highly recommend him! Be sure to see him this tax season.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
