My account was disabled. I have no idea why. I didn't post anything controversial, political, racist, or anything that would offend anyone. Good riddance! Only 2 actually neighbors are on it. A whole lot of advertising!
While Nextdoor is a useful platform in theory, its system for reporting allegedly "inappropriate" comments is laughably biased toward the far left. Anything other than wholehearted support for the BLM "movement" gets you kicked off the site, while viciously anti-police and anti-white commentary is left untouched. Entirely factual posts regarding national and local crime statistics are also pushed down the memory hole when they conflict with the desired narrative of saintly minority victims and brutal, oppressive law enforcement.
Very useful for keeping up on neighborhood goings-on and helping-out. A good way to build community when we are all so busy that actual gatherings are hard to do. Many wonderful resources amoung neighbors. Thanks, Nextdoor staff!
Adult Facebook. A lot of options. I thought this was going to be helpful information shared, instead it's high school. The lack of respect for individuals if they disagree with you or have different beliefs. Grow up, do better!
I was a member of the review team and still got suspended for confronting someone politely about their racist comments. Way too many sensitive little snowflakes lurking about on this site. There are times it can be helpful but for the most part it's a lot of whiners and complainers with nothing worthwhile to contribute. The guidelines are also a joke as they try to control speech rather than allow for free and open debate. Restrictions on national topics are restricted to "groups" that members can start but the exposure is limited and a LOT of people complain if there are political topics even when the topic is local.
Another suggestion is if you need something done i.e. Yard work, house repairs etc. you'd be better off looking for a contractor yourself as too many recommendations are presented if you ask for any. Plus, you can't tell if the contractor will be as receptive as the person who recommended them said they are. Every experience is different.
Nextdoor? Don't waste your time.
Completely unnecessary, annoying and useless "feature". If my login and password are not sufficient for "security" then they should fix their platform. This isn't a bank or brokerage where 2 step authentication makes sense. If they keep this "requirement" I'll just stop checking the site. I've got better things to do with my time.

I love the concept of Nextdoor, but on numerous occasions I've seen active threads abruptly removed with no explanation. It would feel less like censorship if the threads were left intact, perhaps with a cautionary note for statements that can't be verified.
I've had people curse at me and troll my posts claiming everything I am saying is false but when I respond with actual facts I'm the one that is banned for days on end without anyone being able to cite the rule I broke. Stay away.
You can post something that in no way violates Nextdoor rules and get blocked. I posted factual public information after another user accused me of unethical conduct at my job and I got blocked for merely replying with facts to clear up the issue. I think all the complaints must be sent to somebody's three year old child. And there's no oversight of the Leads, so don't expect any help from them. We should all find a better app for sharing with our neighbors.
I used a pen name because this site is really nothing more than neighbors complaining about each other.
Account disabled for not using "real name"
Sorry, stupid site. If I have to live next door to some of these jerks you don't get my real name.
Just a budding version of East German Stasi ruled by left wing liberals that ban anyone with a opposing view. Unfortunately it brings out the insularity of your neighbors in some cases. The Leads act as judge and jury, truly not a democratic process organization.
Useless group of Kyle and Karen constantly complaining and hypocritical by their own statements. If you call them out on it or their misinformation and lies they get butt hurt & report you so your account gets disabled. Really shows how terrible many neighbors are.
Signed on after finding an invite in my mail box. Wished I done some research first! Posted a comment, not critical but just adding to a conversation. The next day it was gone! Keep getting emails asking if I know someone and can approve them, but I can't because this is a rural area and many neighbors are the "wave as we drive by" kind. So I tried to contact them, no info on their sites about email or phone numbers. Googled and found both number and email. Tried to call (their recommendation) and got response "can't connect me right now". Tried twice, in case I had a number wrong. So I sent an email, and guess what? It was returned,"*******@nextdoor" could not be found. What a joke. Hope I can remove myself, before the abuse starts!
I was trying to promote my CBD business through Nextdoor and a "neighbor" flagged me as selling illegal product. CBD is legal in all 50 states! Doesn't matter. Banned. What a joke. I thought only social media bans at will.
I wish I could give this app zero stars. My family have been victimized and terrorized by trolls who claim to be neighbors. They hide behind lead badges taking pictures of your home, children, etc. You feel afraid to have police present at your home for any reason bc the neighbors find a way to use it against you. Starting far fetched rumors and racial profiling. It's disgusting
Bunch of nosey busy bodies with not much else to do. Disagree and you're in jail with no explanation as to why, and cannot defend yourself whatsoever. One-sided liberal bias run. If you have an account delete it NOW!
Nextdoor unites neighbors by creating a forum where advice can be found about any local interests or needs. Free or 'for-sale' items can be listed, contractor and service providers reviewed, and hints for dealing with everything from parking tickets to roof repairs. The ability to post questions publicly and then continue via direct private messages makes it a safe space for sharing important information.
Most likely the moderators are community members, when they see negative comments affecting their "image", your posts or comments are removed immediately without any real justification. If you thought Facebook or any other social media site has biased or silencing "fact-checkers", sign up for this one. You'll be really impressed.
I am not a frequent user but my wife is. This is how we were able to stay in touch with neighbors during the Santa Rosa fires. It was fantastic to get local instant updates after our neighborhood was evacuated.
Have you noticed how the formal invitation was sent to each individual home in each subdivision in every county in the United STates? Who would fund such a promotion for a free site? Come on people, wake up! The governments in all these areas are directly involved with censoring you. They have especially targeted certain areas of middle and lower class status to see and hear directly what complaints to pinpoint using key words such as those listed@ "www.forbes. Com/.../department-of-homeland-security-forced-to-release-list-of-keywords As well as common words associated with illicit activity, racism and hate crimes. Terrorism is real and Homeland Security takes action in every way possible to fight it. At the same time this is costing the public.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
