I ordered some items that were to be shipped free of charge. The next day I get an email that says I have to unload the truck myself or pay a hefty fee to have the drivers do their job. Felt like a bait and switch scheme to me. I canceled my order and will never buy from them again. I don't like being scammed!

I recently ordered a mission style trunk cocktail from homefurniture2go.com. I received it in quickly and was excited to open the box and put it together. What I got out of the box was awful. I have NEVER seen so much damage on one piece of furniture. Now, this furniture is no different from IKEA in that the way it is built and meant to be put together is the same. This thing was scratched, gouged, rubbed raw, and even PAINTED over in places where it shouldn't have been.
Here's the real clincher. I am in a wheelchair and it is not easy for me to get to the post office with a box that weights 75 lbs. To say the least. I took pictures of the product and have emailed them. No response. I tried again. No response. Now I am resorting to this, as well as contacting the better business bureau, in hopes of getting some type of feedback...
Wish me luck...
Kind of a scam.
This review is for an experience with one of their affiliated sites: http :// officefurniture2g…. The item I ordered also appears on their main site. They have numerous sites with names that appear as ====2go.com but it's all the same company.
Bad experience. I ordered an item. It says "in stock" and the order goes through. A few days later they call me to tell me that they do not have the item but think they can get one from the manufacturer by the end of the month ( today is the 6th). I tell them I don't want it in that case and they need to cancel the order. I just now looked at the website and the item is still listed "in stock" and can be added to the cart even though they are clearly aware they do not have the item. If they attempt to finalize my charge I am going to stop payment. In any even it's at least a hassle because now I have to wait for the pending charge to go away so I can order from somewhere else. I am also dubious about whether a company that advertises and sells items they do not actually have is going to bungle canceling and refunding this order and they have ignored my e-mail reminding them of the cancellation. Not sure if it is a bait and switch operation (ie. We don't have the chair you ordered but perhaps you'd like this other one that costs more) or just a shady middleman with no physical location or merchandise in stock.
(Several days after writing my review they did indeed submit the credit card charge for an item they do not have, will not have for a month and an order they know is cancelled).
Right now I am stuck with only a hutch in a box even though I ordered a dining buffet with hutch and the website clearly promised white glove delivery. The delivery guy doesn't know anything about why I am only delivered the hutch. I called the company and a lady there named Molly tell me she don't know why I am only delivered a hutch and offered no solution. I found the way she treated me to be infuriating as she essentially brushed me off.
UPDATE: I called the company again the next day, and i made sure that the second rep who talked with me knew that I was very serious and I needed answers or else I am calling the credit card company at the end of the day. He promised to be persistent with contacting the manufacturer and actually followed through. Ultimately, I got my buffet. The delivery company messed up majorly by not checking their order and loaded the truck partially. The found the hutch, but did not bother to call me about it -- they ended up just showing up at the door the next day. Luckily, my husband was at home because he decided to take a day off for Easter holiday.
Ultimately, the good thing about this company is that at least they have a phone with real people behind it who are not located in India. However, I have learned that they have very little control over these kinds of problems since the manufacturer holds all the cards. Even if you call the manufacturer directly (which I did), the manufacturer will say that they can't do anything without being called by the store. And if the store didn't reach the one person at the manufacturer who can solve this problem, then the solution may take a while.
It took a while but I finally got my furniture. It ended up missing a small part, but this time around, the store was much better and told me that they can order it.
