Buyer beware. Try to avoid at all cost. Gmail is free and is 100 times easier to use when it comes to printing out email chains to use in court.
The only advantage would be that the emails are stamped when they are sent and opened. Even that is ruined by the horrible printing options of the the email chains.
Again, just use Gmail! You will be just as happy and save yourself $100 per parent per year.
It makes all the basics much for difficult.
No calendar integration (you can't overlay your work calendar for example with the children's calendar).
No method of performing bulk updates from existing calendars (such as kids sports team calendars).
No method of forwarding emails into the message board (for things like kids camp emails).
The app isnt even half baked.
Thanks for your comments! I understand how being able to overlay your work calendar on your OFW calendar and adding items via bulk updates would help you to more quickly update the calendar and stay on top of your schedule. You do have the ability to export events from your OFW calendar and import those into any outside calendar you use like on Outlook or iCal. Messaging on OFW is a closed system, so while you cannot forward emails into your OFW Message Board, you can upload emails as files into the MyFiles section of your Info Bank. You can also attach files to messages you send in the OFW Message Board if you wish to include a copy of an email from an outside source. If you have additional feedback or any technical questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer support team. They can be reached seven days a week by email at info@ourfamilywizard.com or by phone at toll-free (866) 755-9991.
Beware! The information you put on OFW that you don't make private is not confidential! This includes the medical tab where you upload info on your children's medical information. I contacted customer service tonight for a different questions and was told that ANYTHING uploaded that you don't make private, is the same as uploading to Facebook for all your friends to see. Just keep in mind when you're using the site!
This App is useful for communication with an abusive personality type when you are required by court order to "co-parent" with someone that abuses you and your children. It is especially useful if the other parent uses coercive control, gas-lighting and psychological rather than physical abuse as the primary tools in their abuser tool kit. At first our abuser was really enthusiastic about using this App as he saw it as another platform to manipulate and there is nothing he loves more than to have a new venue in which to abuse. Now that he has come to see that OFW can't be manipulated and everything is recorded he no longer cares for it. He really cut back on the number of abusive, denigrating and accusatory messages that he sends me. The problem of adult survivors and their children being forced to maintain a relationship and communication with their abuser is rooted in a broken Family Court/Uneducated or Corrupt Judges problem. Other reviewers have a valid point that OFW financially benefits from the lucrative, niche divorce industry but it didn't create the industry. Family Court and our government system is the chicken and OFW is the egg. Our abuser now rants to our kids how much he hates OFW, he reads our messages to them out-loud and tells them it's all your Mother's fault for bad communication but he has blamed and denigrated me to the children for anything and everything for going on 2 decades so nothing new there. The judge tells him to stop involving the children but does absolutely nothing about it when he admits what he does, the children tell the judge he involves them and I repeatedly provide proof that he still puts them in the middle. The family court system is broken in California. Survivors should not be forced to communicate with our abuser. We should be allowed to "just leave" as everyone tells us to do and praises us for. No one seems to know about post separation abuse and how abuser's use the family court system to weaponize the children.
Hi, Mazy - Thanks for your review. We're glad to hear that our platform has helped you maintain an accurate record of communication with your co-parent. We strive to offer divorced or separated parents effective tools for productive communication about co-parenting matters, so we hope the features in our app have been useful to you!
Tried this app, was a nuisance. Using texting and email was far easier and could do off my hands free. This app forced me to pull over continually log in, select the messaging program and message. Further the messaging interface is inferior to apple texting or android. You can not take pics out of the app and it is confusing the way the threads are set up.
Big pass unless you want to further complicate your life.
My ex husband and I were ordered by the court to pay to be on Family Wizard! He paid to get on this, then refused to use it for a month. If you dont have to get this avoid it at all costs! Customer service sucks big time and only care about your money.
Hi Victoria, thanks for your comment. Our goal to provide the best possible tools for shared parenting communication. We offer scholarship accounts to low-income parents, and we offer a discount for military families. We strive to provide the best customer service and help you to get the most out of the OFW toolset. Our team is always glad to walk you through any technical questions you might have, and we also offer a section of FAQs that explain how different tools work on the website and mobile apps. You’ll find that link here: https://www.ourfamilywizard.com/help
Going through a divorce and was encouraged to use this tool. Onboarding of the tool was a disaster making my already non-cooperating more uncooperative. By the time I asked for a refund they told me to pound sand. Quality folks. Yes that is sarcasm.
Our Family Wizard has horrible reviews for a reason. The app doesn't work on newer model devices. Our Family Wizard corporate deleted my account by accident and it caused me to lose my domestic violence case against my abusive ex.
I have had no issues with the app or the updated version and it is easy to use and hassle free. I have an abusive ex and this way things are recorded and knowing they have read the messages making them accountable if they chose to ignore. I agree with a previous post that all the negative reviews are from disgruntled ex's that don't like the idea of this system being so imperative that they can't lie or say they never got the message simply a lie
Thanks for your comment! We’re glad to hear that you find the tools on the app beneficial for co-parenting! If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team by email at info@ourfamilywizard.com or by phone at (866) 755-9991.
Answer: You can add Tonemeter to your subscription anytime by logging into the website from a computer or your smartphones interent browser, then go to My Account and click the green button to enable Tonemeter. You can also add Tonemeter to your subscription each time you renew your account. When using Tonemeter, red bars will appear at the bottom corner of the New Message window to alert you of any emotionally-charged phrase that it has detected. Click those red bars (or the orange box next to those bars when using the website on your computer), and you will see Tonemeters analysis of the phrases in question. If you see no red bars, then Tonemeter has not detected any concerning sentences in your message.
Answer: Hi, Jennifer - From the OFW Calendar, you can export events to a. Ics file and import those into your outside calendaring systems, like iCal. Here is a link to more instructions on how to do so: https://www.ourfamilywizard.com/knowledge-center/tips-tricks/parents-website/export-calendar
Answer: Hi, Katelynn - If your co-parent kept their notifications active, they'll continue to receive them even after their account has expired. As for being able to read a new message you sent, each user is granted two grace logins that will allow them to access their account after it has expired. After those two grace logins have been used, the subscription must be reactivated if they want to access their account and any new activity waiting to be viewed.
Answer: Hello - Yes, you will be able to access all of the messages and other entries in your existing account by renewing your subscription. You can renew your subscription yourself online by logging into your account via the website. If you need assistance in accessing your account or renewing your subscription, please contact our support team by email at info@ourfamilywizard.com or by phone at (866) 755-9991. Thanks for your comment, Gregory. The OFW message board does time stamp each message when it is sent as well as first viewed by your co-parent, which is a history that remains indefinitely with these messages. No message can be edited or deleted once sent. It also offers a unique feature called Tonemeter that analyzes the tone of any message you compose and flags emotionally-charged phrases which you have the option to edit before sending.
Using the OFW message board and other tools helps to assure that your communication is focus on co-parenting matters and is not confused among unrelated correspondence. Also, the other tools of OFW (calendar, expense log, information bank) help you to share information in an concise and organized manner without having to send lengthy messages. These features also have their own reporting tools for downloads and printouts of your information. If you have suggestions for how we might improve our message printouts or anything else, we’d like to hear your thoughts. You can reach out to our customer support team by email at info@ourfamilywizard.com or toll-free (866) 755-9991. They are available 7 days a week.
