I love Priceline, but lately it's a little slacking. As I noticed when you bid, you got to bid much more than just maybe 2 years ago. Big inflation on the prices. Pro: got some good deal before and easy to use. Con: cannot cancel and won't know the name til purchased if go through Express deals or bidding site. Hotels gotten progressively more expensive.
Thier ticket said free carry on bag...I had to pay 99.00 for a carryon bag...fought with price line for 2 months and many many hours of customer service...these people are liars telling me that a refund is in the mail several times. Do not trust these people!
I booked a pricebreaker deal for a 4 star hotel. You basically pay one special price and they select one of 3 hotels for you. They give me a MOTEL with no housekeeping service. Their "spa" was a closet attached to the fitness center where they could do a massage. It was so sketchy. All furniture in room was from IKEA, and even the bathroom door had a 2 inch gap and wouldn't close! You can hear every single noise coming from everywhere. No water pressure at all in the shower. Original shower from the 60's. Popcorn ceiling...I can't make this up if I tried. Don't bother with customer service. It is outsourced and they will NOT help you under any circumstance. This was false advertising. I was in a 1 star motel, at best.
Booked a hotel through one of their affiliates, kentucky-hotels.org, which is just priceline. First, no better deal that just calling the hotel. Second, when I came down with a raging flu and couldn't keep the reservation, even though all hotels provide a 24-hour cancellation/grace period (and some 8 hours), Priceline charged me $25 to cancel. Further, an odd thing happened. The rep I was talking to first told me that if she could talk to my doctor, she could waive the $25 fee. I gave her my doctor's number, she put me on hold, came back, said she had called my doctor and verified my information, but then said she was going to charge me $25 anyway. Why do that to someone? Was this an identity theft attempt? I don't know, but I'll never use Priceline again.
Booked a room at Travelodge in Norman OK. Did not get the room I reserved. Sofa bed was broken. Bath faucet broken. Management was no help. Had my two and four year old with me and these people are not children friendly.
Contacted booking. Com and no help there either. The best they said was a refund but that changed to 15% back. On 2 night booking. Waiting still on a call back. 2 days now. Joke joke joke... I would not recommend either service to anyone. It was a total nightmare. Period.
To my wife... sorry it was a horrible birthday experience and we burry my uncle today. Can't wait to see this town and time fading in the rearview mirror.
I asked for assistance due to using Priceline for a hotel for work. I paid $230 and when I got the receipt for reimbursement for work it showed $211. So I was only reimbursed $211. I reached out to Priceline and here was their response (copied and pasted)
The hotel's front desk should not have given a receipt and shown you our rate. It is a specially negotiated rate with the hotel that is normally not available to the general public. We receive these rates because of the volume of rooms we sell on our site, and we still try to price them very competitively. The difference is our profit margin. This is normal with any travel companies that books high volume of rooms on their websites. This includes our travel partners, and our competitors. We do not want that to happen and sorry for the confusion this has been to you. We are not able to refund the difference in rates.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them

I was supposed to receive a refund, after I returned my car five days early and called Hertz, who said I should contact Priceline instead because the payment went via their organization. There is a case open, and Priceline was meant to refund me on August 24. I looked today, but I couldn't find any evidence of a Priceline booking; it appears to have been completely removed from their website.
The representative will refer your case to a customer relations specialist, who will communicate with hertz prior to the refund to confirm. I was meant to receive a status update via email, but I never did. Here is the reference number for your case: 1148-*******

Really annoyed. I was cancelling my flight before PRICELINE deadline at 11:29 PM to get full refund. I was trying since 11 PM to cancel my flight but website was not working. I Call customer and she told me that she had cancel the flight but when I went back to website, the booking still showing. Call customer service again and she told there is no cancellation? Really? I call again and this lady told that it would be hours before i get connected to Airline specialist department. Now, I am stuck. Seriously, I had so many options to book my flight from any other travel agency online. But, I choose Priceline over others. Thats was mistake i made in my life. I am already going other personal issues in my life and now this one more issue to deal.
Arrived to check in and told not registered... Red Roof Inn web site forwarded to by Priceline for "details" h told me I can cancel with 24 hrs notice. Did so to, I thought, make sure I wasn't charged. You guessed it: I found a charge on credit card when I got home!
I used Priceline twice. The first time, I had to change hotels because you get the worst hotels in the most run down areas. My second trip, I had to do the same. Also, I was told by Priceline I had to purchase my seats for Delta. Long story short, I didn't. When I asked for my $100 refund ( cost of four seats). They said, "NO". My $700 trip turned into $1100 for a 2 day stay for seats and another hotel. I will use other sites from now on. You get what you pay for. Lessons learned
I booked a hotel through Priceline, the quote says paid in full. Yet the hotel actually charges resort fee but Priceline did not notify/warn me anywhere. I told them the listing was misleading and the transaction was void. They told me they could cancel the reservation but I would have to pay the full amount still. Ridiculous! It's a good example of when a company grows to a certain stage, it no longer cares about the very foundamental of its success (if ever sustainable)-- the customers. I feel being fooled and ignored by the agents online. The direct agents were not given any power, and the supervisors are there to create hurdles...
I rented a car through them, had to cancel. Was informed that I would be able to receive a refund. Priceline denied it. Wouldn't discuss with me. Called them several times. When I finally got connected to someone "higher up" I was left on hold for over an hour with no conversation. This website is a joke and the people working there don't care about you. I didn't even pick up the car and I ordered it the same day. Ridiculous.

When I got to the Hertz counter in Albuquerque, not only were they rude to me because I had gone through priceline, but Priceline had not given them all my information (number of drivers, number of tires) I ended up paying double what Price line quoted me online.
My $307 rental went up my $325. Even taking off tax, that's $300 difference.
Rented car in Salt Lake City. One month before I travelled I had to change the reservation. Nope. Nada. No way will they let you cancel. So... I'm going to go to the rental counter and demand my car. After all I paid for it. Why should Priceline get to pocket the money without paying rental car agency. Let's sre how this goes.
Booked a "non-refundable" rental car through them, and had to cancel the whole trip four days in advance. They said they could not give my any refund, but it's a lie! The car rental company advised me that they still could refund, minus a small early cancellation fee. Total scam!
After entering all the pertinent inf on the website it leads you to the price.
When we swiped back to look at others it accepted it and charged the full amount to our credit card. We called them instantly to report the error.
Many calls to this bogus group with no assistance and they kept 358$
We called numerous times, they gave us a customer support email that responded with a pre set blow you off msg.
What a bunch of crooks. STAY OFF THIS SITE!

No customer service after the sale. Once they had my money they refused to give me an itemized receipt for reimbursement from the research hospital handling the cancer treatment. They just said tough luck while we lost money we could use in paying for treatment.
I'll never use them again.
We booked hotel in Aruba using Priceline. Weeks later, they send us an email with the link saying click on the link to add rent a car to your hotel stay. We did it using the link provided jn their email. We get to Aruba and they can't find our reservation in Aruba and they say it was reserved in Florida. I call priceline, text message customer service, talk to 5 different people and they hang up on me. Horrible service, the company made a huge mistake and refused to cancel charges
You can be sick have a situation going on and they don't return your money back very upset with their service I recommend that nobody should booked true them you lost your money if you cant be able to use your reservation they should be more human but they are the worst booking company in the world don't use it
Tip for consumers:
Don't use they are very unhelpful you have to cancel the reservation because a situation and they don't return back
Booked an express deal. What was supposed to be a 31/2 star condo stay turned out to be a scam. Checked into this so-called 31/2 star resort to find out it is a timeshare high pressure sales pitch. West Lake Resorts is nothing short of a seedy scam, and at absolute best a 2 star. Very disappointed in the way Priceline presented my purchase and the way they have handled my complaints. Sadly this longtime customers met will be using other sites when booking future trips.
Priceline is a terrible company. They bamboozled me into using them when I thought I was using kayak by the way they made the internet search for kayak come up "kayak vs priceline" but making it look like I was using kayak. I knew priceline was terrible from past experience and didn't realize I was using that site until I had booked my car. My trip ended up getting cancelled due to severe weather and I tried to cancel the car but they refused to refund any money, saying that they were the cheapest place when they were in fact $20 more expensive than kayak. They are a seedy and shabby company and I will continue to try and be bamboozled by them again, if I can.
Contracts with terrible, absolutely awful companies such as rent a fox. Rent a fox is a rental car service that is super cheap with many hidden fees ($400 hold fee,$75 dirty car fee), flat tires, check engine lights, 4 hour wait time. Absolutely horrendous experience. I called for a refund because I didn't not want to even check in. Morcana the price line rep, employee number ******* refuses to do a refund saying it's a "Non refundable purchase". Awful
I think the whole Priceline.com experience is a joke.
And no matter which airline flight you purchase through them, or whether or not you buy travel insurance or not, they will NOT refund your money when your trip gets cancelled.
And if you get a voucher for another flight you lose almost all of your money regardless with all of their fees. I lost $330 dollars on a $430 flight!
It's ridiculous and I guarantee I will never use their service again. I fully intend to spread the word about their poor service.
Oh, and their customer service is a absolute ridiculous joke. I've talked with them 5 times and nobody can help, or wants to help. They just pass you around from agent to agent until you get disconnected.
I Hate them.
Discussting, girl shooting up in the hallway, vomit in elevator, cockroach on the bed, room smelled like marijuana. Gross and had to leave and book another room at a different hotel and Priceline would not refund or give me any assistance what so ever! Poor customer service, would not recommend using them!
I can't say anything bad about priceline they answered our questions when we were delayed twice and didn't get to denver until 1 or 2 in the morning. We had just rotten luck on our trip nothing on their end tho just really good service. Even gave us a refund when we couldn't get our rental car. I will be using it again when we decided to go back to colorado.
My priceline experience was horrible... I do not feel as if the representative took time or ownership in my issue. I have dealt with 3 different reps since I made my first purchase with Priceline yesterday and have not been pleased with any of them. I will not recommend this site to anyone nor will I use it again. I have also advised priceline that I will be posting negative reviews anywhere I can. I am very displeased with the service I received. I lost money because of a mistake on the sites end and have yet to receive a portion of my funds back into my account. If a potion of my first purchase was not kept as a 'cancellation fee' then I would not have used this site at all to purchase my airline tickets. Horrible service
According to trip advisor, Courtside Inn Niagara falls rated 1.2 star. Completely broken rooms, mould in rooms etc. please check the majority reviews and then decide before you book. Once you book without knowing through priceline or booking.com. Priceline Agent told complete Lie. They say it is good hotel. My advise is to read the reviews and book online. There is no refunds or transfers. All your hard earned money is in water. Do not call and book with Priceline or booking.com. Where as most of the hotels you can cancel before you check in. Please read the reviews and book. I have lost 245 CAD by booking through Priceline. All the best guys.
