I love Priceline, but lately it's a little slacking. As I noticed when you bid, you got to bid much more than just maybe 2 years ago. Big inflation on the prices. Pro: got some good deal before and easy to use. Con: cannot cancel and won't know the name til purchased if go through Express deals or bidding site. Hotels gotten progressively more expensive.
Thier ticket said free carry on bag...I had to pay 99.00 for a carryon bag...fought with price line for 2 months and many many hours of customer service...these people are liars telling me that a refund is in the mail several times. Do not trust these people!
I reserved a car with Priceline and arrived at the car rental company and they made me repay the price (base rate, drop-off fee, taxes). I paid $87 USD twice. The two companies are rejecting the fault on the other one (MEX rent a car). I can't get help from them.
They charge you a good penny for getting you the reservation I just stayed at Days Inn worst service I ever had they didn't even have towels for the duration of the stay and the hotel charged me $317, but through Priceline I was charged $393.40, so that remaining balance was for Priceline for them getting me the reservation had I ordered it from the hotel myself I would have saved myself about $75 dollars. I won't be booking my hotels through them again and I've been a member forever and just realized this. Plus the hotel itself charged me another $100 for deposit, so definitely not worth all that money for my experience. Not a good experience at all.
Like everyone one else, I've had more problems than success with priceline. This concerns the Resort Fees. If priceline would disclose them in the total charges page before your purchase the room those charges wouldn't be so deceptive. Now all they do is include a note I. The fine print about the Resort Fees. Dealing with customer service is like talking to a brick. But I think a brick might answer.
Priceline would not refund any portion of my money even though I canceled two weeks prior to rental date. Very rude woman on the phone. I will do my very best to steer as many people I can away from Priceline. I'll also leave negative reviews on every site I can find. 100% scam artists.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use Priceline, ever!

I bought a package for myself and my 2 kids to go to cancun, mexico, i entered everything, kids age and number, i paid for flight and hotel, when arrived at hotel, they said that my agent ( priceline) didn't send them any payments for none of my kids despite me buying a package for 3 people including flight and hotel, i paid $3500. 00. Ending up paying $500.00 more at hotel to cover the children when i've already paid before to price line-it's a scam.
Stay away! They are thieves. I booked a hotel room for $189.00 (no discount there!). Three days before my reservation I needed to switch to a different hotel. They would not allow any changes or cancellations. They kept the whole $189.00. Do not use this site. If you have to make any changes you are out of luck.
TERRIBLE return & exchange policies. It's basically all sales final when they don't explain fully how their site works. When you bid on an area, you get shafted when it's not what you want. For example hotels. They make the area just big enough to include shady hotels so when you name a low price, you get the shady piece of $#*! hotel instead. No exchanges. You're stuck going to that $#*!ty hotel.
I got charged $400 to change a 600 ticket, where the departure time was moved by a day.
Yes this was really the the airline hitting me, but I have come to expect better support from a travel agency than this, better negotiation.
Your better off contacting the airlines directly, I would have at least save $60 in pricline fees.
No savings with the site, no help, very costly mistake to use them.
Price line is running a commercial about how you can check to see if they are pet friendly hotel before you bid. Well dont waste your time cause i did. Customer service will spend 3 days sending you emails about how they dont know which hotel you mite get when you bid so it may be one that doesnt allow pets and you will waste your money on a reservation you cant use.
I chose the economy hotel for a one night stay for what I thought was a New Smyrna Beach and they booked a hotel in Palm Coast which is 45 minutes away. The website says that it will not tell you what the hotel is until after you pay but I didn't realize that it was going to book a hotel for cities away from where I requested. I called and talk to the manager and they would not change my hotel or refund the money. This was my first and last transaction with Priceline. Be careful what you do on this website because their customer service is zero.
Tip for consumers:
If you choose the economy hotel they will book it wherever they please and put you far away from your requested destination.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I had a vacation booked to Hawaii, I had to cancel and had paid for cancellation insurance. What a joke, they make it impossible to get a refund. Then we needed a revised itinerary for my wife. After a total of 4 hours on the phone, most of it on hold, I finally got a representative that could barely speak english, charged me another $250 to change my wifes itinerary, and still cannot get a copy of the revised itinerary, even though I have given them my email several times. Will definitely use a travel agent in the future. Stay away from Priceline.
Hotel prices in the headers were not the same once you clicked on them. "20% savings" became "18% savings" on the page it led to. When I tried to book an express deal, it was never available, and I tried 7-8 times over a 12 hour period to book a deal. I questioned three of their chat reps, they always said there was a lag time, directed me to book from the hotel listing rather than express deals. This would cost more, and I felt like it was not only misleading but false advertising. If a hotel deal is no longer available, then they should remove the deal from their website. They each blamed the hotel the deal belonged to, but it seems that it is a problem on Priceline's website.
Very slow to respond. The agent hang up on me without asking if any further questions.
I booked a hotel but due to covid19 symptom I didn't want to go. And yesterday from today Jan 19 another agent who helped me said I can cancel today with penalty of 1 day charge. I still have the chat and the screenshot. Today I talked to this agent named INEZ, this agent told me they can't do that and no refund due to policy when I point out the policy on the websites specifically saying I can cancel it with 1 day refund anytime. This agent just paste a reply no can do and hang up on me. What kind of service is this? And I have all evidences saying I can cancel the booking with 1 day penalty.

These individuals that are on the line does not care about anything other than capturing the sale I tried to book airline reservations through them. I am so disappointed that my employer which is a Fortune 100 company has decided to have any affiliations with such a company. They passed me around from unknowledgeable agent to even more unknowledgeable agent. My advice, just book with the airline directly!
I booked a hotel through pricelines name your own price deal and was thoroughly disappointed. The hotel we bid on was 3.5 stars, with the only amenity included being a pool. However when we arrived at the hotel we were advised that there was an additional $10 mandatory resort fee which covered the cost of the pool. The unhelpful representative at Priceline, Louis, confirmed that per their terms and conditions, the hotel may charge an additional resort fee which we are required to pay and would not comment on how the pool was a guaranteed amenity in the price we had already paid. He emailed me the terms and conditions and directed me to read them for any questions. As a first time Priceline user, I feel tremendously taken advantage of and will no longer use this service. Beware of any purchases and know that any guaranteed amenities may come at an additional cost.
Dont use Priceline they have spiders that see what your looking for and then do a bait and switch. Most all these hotel and travel site do the same thing. Better is to use there prices and go direct to the hotels and use discount codes or the best is AAA membership. Sign up for hotel membership and you will beat priceline by 6-10%
Booked at 2200 package only to find out my airline was 2hours away from my vacation destination. MY bank account was immediately charged I tried to contact priceline to have flight changed after untied airline just charged my card 1500. 00 im supposed to be leaving tomorrow and they now tell me they cant assist me with changing my flight to cancel my reservation and funds will not be available for multiple days. I will never be booking again with priceline they offer no help or customer service after spending 2200. 00..
You think you're getting a good deal on accomodation then you get stung for fees and taxes. Later when it comes on your credit card there's the transaction fee!
When you book with other sites the you are given the total cost it isn't slipped in later like this crooked site. BUYER BEWARE!
I typically book directly with a preferred company, but it was Thanksgiving weekend and prices were out of control. I checked Priceline and decided to give it a try. I used Priceline to book a car rental with National and found a great deal that was half the price I found with National directly. I had zero issues. After paying through Priceline and reading the fine print about No Changes/No Cancels/No Refunds, I checked my booking on the National site and all my info was there. When I arrived at my destination, check-in was fine. After returning the car a few days later, I got a receipt from National and an email from Priceline. All good!
I would use Priceline again.
Tip for consumers:
Read all of the fine print and don't assume they'll make exceptions for you.

I had rented a minivan for an upcoming trip to Alaska months in advance, and then decided to instead rent a 12 passenger van. Instead of letting me change/upgrade the reservation, they required I cancel the first reservation. Which should have been free to cancel, but I was charged a $29 cancellation fee. It's ridiculous I had to pay that fee when I was really only trying to upgrade the vehicle. Customer service was horrible. Never using Priceline again.
Name your price is very exciting and can be a great deal. I just don't like that you have to change TWO categories when your offer is rejected. Otherwise you have to switch devices to keep in same city but up price and lower stars. I NEED to stay in certain areas sometimes.
We went on a group vacation first hotel was very nice we did the name your own price and it bit us in the butt when we got to the second roach motel. I was really disgusted and it was located in a questionable part of town. Found that out the hard way.
The car rental rate is always confusing. They pre-charge you full amount. And they won't refund back even if I got a lower rate when picking up the car from the counter. The counter has no idea why Priceline gives a higher rate. And if you check back with Priceline, their customer service has the worst whatsoever attitude. They are repeating. We negotiate the best price... like totally nonsense
Luckily I only got ripped off by a little and didn't have major issues like I've read about here! They tacked on fees for booking a hotel. I specifically asked about fees and was told it was taxes, but turns out it was fees. Have never had this problem with other booking agencies.
I booked a room in Bali as Priceline price was lower. But when my confirmation email turned up the room type was different. As you can guess a very basic room. When I contacted them they said they can't access my booking! As it was with Agoda. And when I contacted Agoda they denied any responsibility. So beware, Priceline is just a scam, don't fall for their low prices.
