I love Priceline, but lately it's a little slacking. As I noticed when you bid, you got to bid much more than just maybe 2 years ago. Big inflation on the prices. Pro: got some good deal before and easy to use. Con: cannot cancel and won't know the name til purchased if go through Express deals or bidding site. Hotels gotten progressively more expensive.
Thier ticket said free carry on bag...I had to pay 99.00 for a carryon bag...fought with price line for 2 months and many many hours of customer service...these people are liars telling me that a refund is in the mail several times. Do not trust these people!
I'm really surprised by all the negative experiences that are mostly being disclosed here. I have used priceline sparsely for about 10 years and I have never had any difficulties with their services not being as I expected. I have done flight, hotel and car rental with no problems. I have also never had to call customer service, so I can't speak to how that would be. The "biggest" thing I've done with priceline was earlier this year when 3 co-workers and I booked a hotel and flight package to Hawaii (conference!). It was fantastic and a good deal. From the experience I've had, I recommend this company.
I ended up paying a lot for a low end hotel, hotel charged my credit card too too much.
Been in equivalent situations with Hotels.com and Expedia, however, both Expedia & Hotels.com helped me get the money back that the hotel charged without a reason.
Not Priceline.
They basically did nothing.
So, if your money & holiday is important to you, don't book anything from Priceline, they have shady hotels and they shady.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Priceline if you don't want worries

I set up a reservation for a trip over a month in advance. I checked back with the hotel using the Priceline-provided hotel booking code and they had no reservation for me, no record of it. PriceLine did issue a refund to me but I don't trust them. I would have showed up at the hotel on the correct day with no place to stay. Unforgiveable, so no more business from me.
I used priceline to book my hotel for my birthday in Vegas. Decided to use expressed deals selected 4 star paid for my hotel then saw what hotel they pick. They picked a 3 star hotel located on a sketchy area of the strip. I tried to cancel and they refused. They even lied about a manager giving me a call back several times.
Tip for consumers:
That they can manipulate hotel rating if they want.

Although you can get great deals, they usually come with a catch like construction being done at the hotel etc.
The worst problems we've had is the higher rated hotels don't have amenities like free breakfast or internet, but the lower ones have a chance of not being the nicest.
I really wish they had amenity choices with the name your own price.
Read the fine print. The company's business practices should be illegal. I booked a week long car rental with them but was unable to pick up the car. Never mind, I was charged for the car for one week anyway. The company has no business ethics. Their motto is apparently to con customers if you can. I'd recommend trying another service. Priceline sucks!
Priceline was one of the first players in discount travel, and there is a reason it continues to be among the top players in the industry. The ability to "name your price" can save an enormous amount for those customers who have significant flexibility on flight times and airline selection. When finding the absolute lowest price for a ticket is paramount, Priceline delivers.
In the listing for hotel the add posted fee cancellation. I always look for this. We book upwards of 60 hotel stays per year. Once the reservation was confirmed the policy stated no cancellation on express deals. I had no idea it was "express deal". Stay away from Priceline. They will agree to cancel then claim you will receive a cancellation fee matching to cost of your booking
I would somewhat understand if I was attempting a last minute booking. However I was booking for a room 2 months in advance.
Bought a 3 night stay at Bellagio on Priceline because it was a little cheaper, spoke to an agent because I wanted to know if a non smoking room could be guaranteed. He had me hang on the line while he « talked to the hotel « and then came back and told me that he could guarantee me a non smoking room. The next day I see my trip is broken up into 2 different itineraries - the first for 1 night, the second for 2 nights. I call Bellagio and they confirm that they could indeed require me to check out after 1 night and move to a different room because of the way this $#*! set up the reservation. And a non smoking room was not even requested! ( and cannot be guaranteed at Bellagio anyway for that type of room)
Tip for consumers:
Just don’t

I am supposed to get a full refund since I cancelled well before check in date. Hopefully there will not be a problem with this.
Priceline is not trustworthy. I made a hotel reservation online, they ended up charging my visa card for 2 transaction instead of 1. The hotel picture they show you before the transaction is not the guarantee hotel after the transaction. Customer service is horrible, rude, and unfriendly. When I finally tried to talk to someone about double charging me, the answer I got is that the transactions are final and non-refundable. Somebody needs to institute a process in law with this company and their unsafe website. This company is robbing their customers.
Priceline sucks they're about to be as all they do is scam me at your money I've lost over $400 in the last year which is a lot to me cancel Priceline use another app it's not even worth your time or your trouble
Review every word on their policy. They will fight you tooth and nail in order to make sure they keep your money. They are not worth the head ache if you have any last minute changes and their operators are highly condescending. I will never use them again.
Do NOT book a vacation bundle unless you're 100% sure you won't need to make a change. Somehow, when they say free cancellation for 24 hours, if you're booking a bundle, they'll only allow cancellation of the flight and not the resort or hotel. I don't understand how booking a bundle can mean only half is cancellable, but that is what they do. So BEWARE. They don't blink an eye to just make you eat $1,200, even if you've been a loyal customer.
My daughter was a victim of crime. She needed to feel safe so I booked her a flight with insurance so that we would be able to switch it around if she needed to stay longer. She was having a very difficult time so we were going to extend her stay. Priceline would NOT work with me to extend her stay. They showed no compassion & refused to change her flight at all. My daughter was in terrible shape & I felt like Priceline added to her stress & despair. I will never forget how Priceline took our money with the promise that we could switch flights if needed but then... Victimized my daughter again. I urge each & every traveller to avoid using Priceline. Terrible things can happen & if they happen when you are traveling... You need a company that will Help you in your time of need. I want to warn others so that they do not feel further victimized like we did. There is far too much competition to deal with a company that lacks customer service & compassion.
Like so many other disappointed customers, I booked a hotel for 2 nights through the website only to find out that I could have saved myself $60 by booking directly with the hotel. It seems that priceline.com buys up hotel rooms and then sells them to unsuspecting clients for more. I thought priceline would get me a better deal than I could get myself. WRONG!
Priceline is rib off site. Never again to use them after steeling my money. They made the wrong reservation and still charge me. I had to pay for a room without using it. Rib off company, rib off business. Do not use and if have to be aware. There are no customer service. You are serving Priceline.
Some businesses pride themselves for providing valuable services. Others are opportunistic whenever a customer makes an honest mistake. Priceline makes a good percentage of its money from the mistakes of customers. Seems like they would value their customers and their reputation for service and trustworthiness, but alas, they seem to enjoy taking advantage of their customers mistakes. The website is designed to create confusion towards this end. I see many customer complaints online that describe the same scenario. A customer discovers a mistake in the date of their booking within minutes, immediately calls Priceline to get it corrected, only to find that they refuse to simply change a date for you, would rather keep your money, and forfeit customer relationships. It is obviously fruitful to them, but I cannot understand why they would rather keep as little as $59 of a customer's money, than keep the customer. Seems like bad business. It is certainly inhumane and scurrilous.
They don't even deserve the one star I was forces to give them. Priceline sucks! Allows you to book a room without telling you that you can't check in until a certain time and then refuses to help you find another room somewhere with a vacancy. Always used them for airline tickets will never use them again.
I usually bid on Priceline for hotel stays. I find that their star system for rating properties is not inflated like some hotel web sites. Booking is easy and if one does a bit of homework, sometimes you can figure out which hotel you might get when you bid. Information on the web site is clear and understandable. Have had very nice hotels throughout the time I have been bidding with Priceline.
Please don't ever use Priceline! They are completely fraudulent and we were defrauded by them. They advertised a low rate for a hotel on the dates we had specified, when we hit 'book' online the dates we had entered changed and we booked non-refundable hotel fares. We immediately realised and reached out to Priceline and were told that even though we booked through them, that we had to contact their sister company booking.com as the fare was really with them. We could not reach booking, com to explain what had happened and change our dates and we subsequently lost $320 USD with Priceline completely unwilling to help. This is a a mega scam, DO NOT use them (please).
Terrible customer service. They will keep you on hold forever. They will not call to confirm that the hotel has rooms available. They don't help their customers no matter how many thousands they spend on one trip. Sadly I will never recommend this company
If I could give a negative star rating... I would. I booked a flight for 2 to Maui. Paid for first and business class. Noe that we are traveling... wr have been placed in Economy. I don't mind driving a Honda as long as I don't pay Mercedes prices for it. They claim there was no price discrepancy between booking first class and economy (except it was $1500). And will not make this right.
I booked my room and after 10 hours of driving I get to my hotel to find out their system has been down all day and they won't be letting anyone check in today. I call Priceline tell them and they say all they can do is refund my money for the reservation after spending over a hour on the phone with them. I did a express deal which I can't cancel so why should they get to cancel? Find me another hotel instead of me driving out of my way to find out the hotel they booked has had its system down all day. To top it off I drive half a mile down the road and check into a hotel that is regularly priced 15 dollars cheaper then what Priceline has it listed. Worthless and a rude company.
I requested that Priceline cancel my rental car or match the going rate. They refused to do so and made me pay almost double the cost because I had reserved a rental car through them. Even though they claim to have the best prices available they charged my $387 for a 2 day rental. When I tried to change it to Avis because they were charging $205 they said no. They would not match the price either.
They should rename their company Price Gouger.
I had to go to Boston for two nights on family business and needed a handicap accessible
King deluxe room on short notice. I used Priceline and found the most perfect hotel!
Not only did it meet all my requirements, but it was across the street from the offices
That I had an appointment with! When I was checking in, the clerk told me I was getting
An unheard of deal- that he had rented my room for twice the price the night before.
