I love Priceline, but lately it's a little slacking. As I noticed when you bid, you got to bid much more than just maybe 2 years ago. Big inflation on the prices. Pro: got some good deal before and easy to use. Con: cannot cancel and won't know the name til purchased if go through Express deals or bidding site. Hotels gotten progressively more expensive.
Thier ticket said free carry on bag...I had to pay 99.00 for a carryon bag...fought with price line for 2 months and many many hours of customer service...these people are liars telling me that a refund is in the mail several times. Do not trust these people!
Airline cancelled the return flight and told us to work with the agent Priceline to change the reservation. We can't get through to a service agent even after hours of waiting on phone. One agent we finally got mentioned he needs to transfer to a supervisor as he can not change the reservation. Put us on hold for an hour and call finally got hung up. Miserable customer service while we are stuck in a foreign country.

Customer service is bad

Never rent through Priceline. The car rental never got our reservations and we were stuck for 4 hours. Makes the reservation again and they still never got it. The place was full of people with the same issues. Finally just got an Uber. Bad start to a vacation. You have been warned. NEVER NEVER NEVER

Just don’t go through Priceline.
Kayak sent me to priceline. Often I book on the airline itself but I said "why not just do it on priceline." I found out why. Virgin Australia has various levels of tickets... saver light, saver, etc. Priceline did NOT distinguish or give me a choice, they just put one of my legs on saver light and one on saver. Thing is, the saver light has no baggage option (and carry on is a max of 15 pounds... I am traveling from the U.S. I need clothes, etc.). Neither priceline or the airline would do anything... well for a $80 x 2 fee they would. So instead of paying $10 for saver with baggage I am paying $35 x2 to be able to take luggage.
I purchased a plane ticket through Priceline's 'Name Your Price' and had great success. I found a plane ticket from Chicago to Philadelphia for 50% less than what was available on Orbitz and Travelocity at the time. Although you cannot choose your travel times, I ended up getting departure and return flights that didn't leave too early or return too late. I would suggest it to anyone with flexible departure times. Sooo thrilled!
We used priceline.com to book one of their "make a bid" hotels. We entered the dates and found out where we'd be staying. However, due to an emergency, we had to change our dates of travel, but priceline.com was not very helpful with this situation. We were allowed a one time only partial refund on our original booking, but this will never be allowed again, we were told. We were also charged a penalty fee which could be applied to a future booking. However, we will be using Hotels.com or a different booking site from now on. No more priceline.com for our family!
Priceline. False advertising. Claim all reservations are "fully paid and guaranteed". Customer pays for reservations. So yes, reservation is fully paid. But when an extenuating circumstance occurs they DO NOT fully guarantee the fully paid reservation.
Customer care does absolutely nothing for you. The service charge is a huge expense. You would expect some understanding some " customer care". However after booking you are flooded with " No refund" messages. The messages were a surprise to me. Maybe because in large print on the website they focus on " FULLY PAID is FULLY GUARANTEED "
Stay away. Call the hotel directly. Then you will get your " reservation fully guaranteed"

Hotel reservations.
I have always had a good experience with Priceline. I get the best deals and almost always get my hotel rooms for approximately 50% off. Easy to use and I like their site over other discount websites.
Never book with Priceline, you can't trust you're going to get what's shown on the website! I selected a room at the Radisson Blu 1919 from a list of hotels in Reykjavik Iceland. Everything on the website showed the Radisson Blu 1919 in the booking. I was able to select a room, choose dates and go through the entire process with the website showing the Radisson Blu 1919. Unfortunately, when I received receipt of purchase Priceline had booked with a different hotel.
Customer service said we had booked without being able to select a hotel, a completely false statement. Many discussions on the phone all we heard was No, No, No and that's not what our system shows. Never seen such a large company perform the Bait and Switch.
Priceline is very misleading, it said "oceanfront" in the room description but was not what I got, also, they say call Priceline for bed accommodations, but when I called they said they can't make any changes to, I have 5 people coming and they're only giving me one queen bed... really? Never again, I've spent too much money on Priceline in the past for them to have treated me unfairly, they've obviously forgotten who keeps the in business... just saying
One star is too high. I had to cancel a flight I made through Priceline. I cancelled the same day I made the reservation. The Flight was made over two months in advance, and according to United Airlines I could cancel within a day and get a full refund to my credit card. When the charge came on my credit care anyway, I made some calls. United Airlines tells me I needed to contact Priceline. Priceline is not letting the price of the flight become a credit on my credit card charges -- have to use the money as credit towards a future flight within a year. The person I talked to on the phone was flat out rude. It was not like my cancelled flight was leaving right away causing a problem for either United or Priceline. I am a senior citizen and most likely would not be making another flight within the next year. It seems to me that if either United Airlines or Priceline wanted my business again, they would be more accommodating and compassionate.
They will hide from you that hotels might charge additional fees. They will show a lower price than other sites and lure you in. I had a horrible experience when I booked a trip to New York, no where during the booking they mentioned I would be charged destination fee or that it wasn't included. Other websites on the other hand like Expedia explicitly states this to be fair and clear to customers. The agents are horribly ill-mannered to talk to. Do better and book somewhere else.
I bought 2 days rental of a car.
I returned the car a day earlier.
Priceline refused to give me a refund.
I use the car less than 24 hours.
Never again, renting w/ a company.
That only cares about them
1st things 1st I booked a trip for me and my mother to go to Hawaii as my mother is now getting up in years and I want to have a good experience for her. Both me and my mother suffer from diabetes and can't fit in the smaller coach seats purchased 1st class. Later we get a do this that are flights of changed and it looks like they've taken us from 1st coming back from Hawaii. Try to call them to fix it, they call you back and then hang up on me 8 times? No one has even reached out to fix the situation even when I asked for management..
I booked a room at a hotel, the first room had roaches, second room was ok but then when I woke up in the middle of the night I saw roaches around our bed and in our bathroom. We had to end up sleeping in our car. Paid almost $100 and all Priceline could do was offer a 15% coupon. Very disappointed in Priceline.

Just book with someone else do not waste your money trust me.

I book a room for 1 week job related & in 1 hr I had make a major change to move to another location. They couldn't help with the change and refused to cancel my reservation nit to mention no refund $465.00 gone down the drain without any service. They are not willing to make changes even if you just booked it 10 minutes later. Be careful with Priceline their not true to their word.
In October 2015 used an Express Deal through Priceline for a 2 1/2 star hotel. This was the highest ratings for hotels for this area. On their website they had 4 hotels with a 2 1/2 star rating(Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc.). Well, the hotel we were given was not even listed on their website. When I contacted them was informed the this hotel was part of their "partner" hotels and that I was unable to change or cancel the reservation. In addition was told I should have read the fine print on the offer screen.
So arrived at the hotel. Can only say I have no way of understanding how this hotel could be rated a 2 1/2 star hotel similar to Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc. You could see light around the door leading to the room.
Needless to say, I will never use the Priceline Express deals again.
Never again will I book through Priceline. We made our reservations well in advance and I was aware of of the cancellation policies. However, due to the coronavirus our cruise was cancelled. You would think they would change their rules for a global pandemic but NO Not these greedy B*******s. The whole world is upside down and they wont budge. We have lost over $600 with them. I will never again book though this site.
I made a reservation through them today thinking I was buying insurance through the rental company. Instead I get to the counter and find out I bought some third party insurance which would be a complete nightmare if I had a claim. Nothing said clearly on the site when you are hurriedly making a reservation that this is a third party insurance, that also costs more than at the rental desk. Deceptive!
I wish i can give them a zero rating. I have never been played in my life like the way Priceline agent play. They must have been trained on how to push customers around for nothing. I regret ever dealing with you Priceline. Highly disappointed with the poor service from Supervisor and fraudster's agent working with the company, they tell you what you want to hear to push you off the calls.
This is my second time booking with these guys and my first time having to make a change. I started this ordeal at 9:30 in the morning and its now 1:17 in the afternoon. I have called repeatedly and I have been given the run around, people did not know how to help me and finally a few minutes ago I was told to call the airline directly. This is beyond ridiculous.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use these jokers. This has been a terrible experience only to have them tell me to call the airline. Their staff is poorly trained and I was hung up on a couple of times while on hold. I was pleasant and did not raise my voice or anything stupid like that I was pleasant and calm. Save yourself time and frustration and just book with someone else

I used their airline ticket booking service.
I booked 2 rooms in Fort Worth but had car trouble and just needed to change my reservation to Midland but was told that Priceline is firm with their policy and they could not help me. I will gladly pay more in the future and never use Priceline again.
2 Months since my flight has been canceled and still no idea when I may be getting a refund or if I am getting one?!?! This is outrageous as it was a 1500 dollar flight. I will never user Priceline again. Trying to save me 20 bucks has cost me 20+ hours on hold with them. Never again.
1st time trying this company. BAD BAD BAD. I ended up doing the 3.5 star hotel random choice and I got a $#*!TY hotel that is so ugly for 5 dollars less than google has listed. It is straight false advertising. No options for cancellation or refunds. I am stuck with this place and my terrible decision to trust Priceline. Knowing you will be in a place to your liking is better than the 20 bucks you might save. VERY UNHAPPY.
I visit this site a lot when i book rental cars. It always shows me good deals, but booking with the rental place directly is even cheaper most of the times. Anywho, it does provide a good overview over prices and the rental places there are at my chosen location. I always check which rentals are present first and then check directly with them.
The car place didn't have the car. Canceled reservation. Site said refund in three days or less. Seven days pass, nothing. Had to call customer service. Rep barely spoke English. Took 20 minutes and then they had to "verify" that I didn't get the car! Now I have to wait three more days. Horrible experience. Will never use again. I felt like they were calling me a liar. No apologies, nothing but wait for an email. Use them at your own risk.
