I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D
Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.
Extremely disappointed, I havent gotten my package since UPS lost it. I know its not promgirls fault but honestly I dont know what to do now. Prom is in 2 weeks.
Ordered my dress April 11th, and it was set to ship the 27th and when I never received a confirmation email I reach out to the company. It was then that they informed me that the dress I had ordered nearly 2 weeks ago was sold out. Why had it taken 2 weeks for them to tell me they sold out? I had to pick out new dress options and all of them were sold out except one that $100 more than my orginal dress and still wouldnt $#*! till May 6th and my prom is on the 14th. We asked if they could give us courtsey overnight shipping since this screw up wasn't our fault and so we would have enough time to get it tailored but they told us that was not possible due to their policy. So in the end we had to spend another $30 on shipping for a dress that may or may not ship. Overall I can honestly say I have never experienced such a horrible service and I do not recommend Prom Girl to anyone unless you are looking extra added stress.

I ordered a prom dress for about $450 in advance to be sure the dress was ready for prom. When my daughter put on her dress for prom night, the cheap nylon zipper got stuck and it would not move up or down. Finally, we got the zipper to zip to the top but then the cheap nylon zipper split apart. We had to drive to a friend's house and have my daughter sewn into the dress, putting her at least an hour behind schedule the night of the prom. I contacted Promgirl several times, and they have not given us a refund, a credit, a partial refund, a partial credit, an offer to repair the zipper, an apology or anything. They have not even responded at all to my most recent email. They have terrible customer service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN.
The worst website ever. I had to pay shipping plus 40% the dress was originally priced at the door when it was delivered because they didn't consider international shipping chargers. When I tried to put the dress on the smallest size xs was way too big. I had to get it altered in time for my prom but then it turns out the stupid cheap zipper keeps getting jammed. Finally once I had the dress on for over an hour and things were finally looking up, I ended up with lots of scratched from the rough material under my armpits because it was a strapless dress. Not to mention the material felt really tough and cheap.
To wrap things up when I tried to contact them and leave my review on the page the dress was sold the didn't put it up. So all those reviews they have on the site are forged. I paid triple the amount I was expected to pay due to additional shipping fees and alterations.
At the end of the day all I got out of the stupid dress was one night of scratching and discomfort.
All in all. I had the worst experience of my lifetime with this company.
Watch out and do not order from this website. They ended up charging me $104 and I ended up with no dress. As usual with all the websites that I have purchased dresses I got 3 dresses to make sure they fit me well before buying them for my friend's wedding. All together they were around $1000 and I was hoping that at least one of them fit me well and then I could return 2 back. First of all dresses were nothing like the ones that they posted online. They looked and fit terrible and when I returned them the next day they told me that there is a 10% restocking fee. I have never had this experience plus they should write this in bold somewhere when the customer is trying to buy the dress. The only way people can buy online dresses is to try them in multiple sizes and forms. So this is the way they make money basically even if you end up taking one of the dresses you are still paying restocking fees for the sizes and the ones that you tried out. Also when the box came to my door it was all torn and I took a picture of it. The box was almost destroyed. So even their shipping and handling is terrible. I also had to pay $30 for express shipping as I wanted the dresses to arrive before the weekend. So $100 + $30 express shipping and they also charged $8 for shipping them back the return. It was horrible. All around it was the worst online shopping experience. They basically took a cost of a nice dress from me without giving me a dress.

Horrible quality, overpriced, save your money and time everyone. For the price I paid and shipping to Australia, my dress ripped during the first time wearing it.
This dress fit me very well, despite being a tad long. But, the straps are adjustable, and it is very comfortable and flattering, especially for the price!
The quality of the dress was disguisting - about as thin as a paper towel. On top of that, they only give 7 days to return the item. I will never shop from this company again!

I appreciate your automated response that still did not address my issue. The fact that you do not sell this dress anymore is not my problem. The fact that it states I can get in store credit on the website and was on a card in the box with the dress, is my issue. I wanted in store credit for a future dress. The fact that you said "we try to make exceptions" shows it's not based on policy but based on who answers the phone. I didn't buy a $50 shirt, it's a $200 dress! I could complain about the fit like others did but my issue far out weighs that.

The dress we ordered was exactly as pictured! We used the measuring guide to get the right size and it fit perfectly! It arrived in 2 days! I would purchase again.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SITE. Not only did the dress we ordered look nothing like the website showed, but there were missing gems all over the top. When I tried to return the dress, I took pictures of the malfunctions and sent the dress back for a "full refund". Once the dress returned to the company, they found that there were NO MISSING GEMS?! They are obvioulsy blind? Therefore; I had to pay a 10% restocking fee. I will NEVER use this site again. Hopefully they get shut down soon.
I have contacted them on Facebook, Instagram, emailed, and called them about my dress exchange, and they still haven't responded. They are ignoring me and not helping me with my dress.

I normally review websites I'm not familiar with before I purchase anything from them, but my daughter absolutely fell in love with a dress on this site and wanted it for her Senior Prom. I measured her exactly as shown in the video and inputted her measurements into the chart on the website. I ordered the size as they indicated. I also paid for 2 day shipping because it was a month out and in case something was wrong I wanted plenty of time to handle it. The dress arrived in the proper time, but when my daughter tried it on it was extremely too big... I mean 4 or 5 sizes too big. I immediately got online and contacted them about a refund. I was not about to risk a store credit only to receive another dress that was the wrong size. I also did not feel I should pay a restocking fee when obviously their sizing is way off. The CS rep said I could send it back and they would either give me a full refund, if it was found to not be the right size as indicated or would deduct the $8 shipping, but would waive the restocking fee regardless. Of course they didn't give me a full refund and charged me the $8 for shipping, but they also didn't refund the $22 I paid for 2 day shipping to begin with. They took the $8 off the price of the dress not the full price I paid. Do not buy from this company... you won't be happy!

You must consider her body type and the style of the dress. The size chart will highlight where each measurement falls on the chart but it is merely a guide to assist you in selecting the size that is best for you. Unfortunately the customer would be responsible for the return shipping if the dress is not found to be incorrectly sized but we were able to waive the restocking fee as a courtesy. The shipping cost on the original order would have been provided to UPS for the shipment and could not be refunded if it arrived on time and was not defective. We apologize for any inconvenience!
We waited last minute to get a dress. Unlucky for us it did not fit. But the dress was beautiful. And we will order for next dance. Just earlier. A prompt refund was given.
My daughter loves her dress! We live in remote central BC Canada and it shipped to us in less than 2 weeks. The dress is as stunning in real life as the photo in the ad. Thank you prom girl.
We placed an order almost a full month prior to our event date of a dress that was "In stock" and with a ship date 2 days later than our order date. We checked the status of the order each day of the week and it says "Processing". After a week of it still saying "Processing", we contacted the company, only to find out that the dress never was in stock to start with. In fact, you can still purchase the dress on their website in almost every size! Even size 2 still shows it is in stock (the size we ordered), but it is not. So, my daughter is now 3 weeks out from her dance and most dresses online and in stores in her size are sold out and/or we will have less time to have a dress altered. PromGirl DID call me back when I sent an email (to tell me that the dress was not in stock and they would helpfully cancel the order). So, just beware if you are short on time, that "in stock" does not mean "in stock" and their ship dates are not real. They don't have a real time inventory tracking system, nor do they update the order status accurately.

After my previous review, I must give another review to this business for eventually allowing me to make a return after I had missed the deadline. They did this after I sent this review and one on their own site. My complaint was that the person I spoke with was very rude and unhelpful... telling me he made exceptions but this wouldn't be one of them... seriously? I was honest from the beginning saying it was totally my fault (missed it by 2 weeks) but was there any recourse? Store credit? Anything? And he was just rude. I am extremely appreciative however, that another customer service person who contacted me after my review finally allowed me to make the return (after agreeing to terms that I will not be allowed to return past the deadline in the future). I will say that 7 days is not a lot of time to work with and I will probably not risk that by ordering from them again. I will not trust myself to make that deadline, therefore, will order elsewhere. I think they have cute dresses (and I am sure that there are those few who are cheating them by wearing then returning who ruin it for the rest of us) but the company should really consider a longer time period in their return policy. They already have a 10% restocking fee and customer pays for shipping... so its a tough return from the beginning.

We were a bit iffy on ordering a dress online at all because of the sizing. Prom girl made it very simple with the how to measure tips, and we couldnt be happier with the dress and prompt shipping!
I ordered my prom dress on April 18th. I paid $17.00 for 3 day shipping and it was supposed to be here today, April 22nd. I called and gave them the tracking number and they JUST told me they ran out of stock and it'll be expected to ship on May 9th. Well, my junior prom is May 14th, so that won't work! I canceled my order and am waiting for the canceling process to go through so I get my $80.00 back. I'm going elsewhere; I'm never shopping there again. What a waste of time and money. And the worker on the phone was $#*!ty about it and wasn't even sincere or apologetic.

THIS SITE IS AMAZING! I ordered a dress for a semi-formal dinner, the dress looked okay online, but when i got it in person it was soooo pretty! I am very pleased with this site, and i only paid $120 for my dress. The only problem i had was the small was a bit big in the bust, but i got it taken in, and it was fab.
Please do not order from Prom Girl! They told me that I had an extension past the 7 day return policy and when I called to get the return authorization they told me that they had no record of the extension being given and they refused to accept the return. This is the 2nd time that I have had a problem with trying to return a dress that did not fit my daughter and was never worn. The 1st time they finally issued a refund, but only after I had to fight for it, but this time they were arrogant, obstinate and implied that I was lying about being given the extension. They clearly had a "too bad, so sad" attitude! What really has happened is that they have either "accidentally" or purposefully deleted the recorded call where I was given the extension and are now saying that since they do not have a recording of the call that they will not issue the refund. I was also told on 2 different days that a supervisor would call me back regarding this issue and to this day no one has ever called me back and it has been about 2 months now since I was told that. This business is unbelievable in their treatment of their customers and their customer service is horrible and please do not ever order from them. If you look at other reviews for PromGirl you will see that there are many people whom have had return issues and/or were refused their refund that was due to them.
