I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D
Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.
I spent $100 on a prom dress that came with a broken zipper and a hole in the back. By the time I got the dress to my house, it was too late to return it. So I had to go and spend $125 to fix all of the problems with it. Im pissed off that PromGirl would even send me a dress with all of these problems, especially when I paid $100 for it.
For my Sorority formal, I ordered 2 dresses with intentions of keeping both and using one for formal and for another function later down the road if both dresses fit. However, I am a 98 lb girl that could not zip one of them because the off the shoulder band was too tight, yet the entire bodice was twice my size. Additionally, the dress looked nothing like the one that I ordered. Their return policy is complete crap. A 10% restock fee for a dress that isn't even customized is ridiculous. Additionally, I returned the dress on Feb 26 and it is now March 13 and they have yet to refund me. Every time I call, whomever I speak to says the exact same thing as if read from a book. Their customer service is terrible and I can assure you that it is not worth the hassle to order from this company.
My friend recommended this website to me for my senior prom dress. When I first ordered, my order failed, but the money was taken from my account regardless. I called to inform them, and the woman I talked to was extremely rude. After talking to someone different online, I was told it should take 2-6 days to put the money back in my account, well it actually took 2 weeks. My friend continued to encourage me to order it saying that it was probably something wrong with my PayPal account, claiming her dress had gotten to her super fast a week earlier. Well I ordered my dress, paying extra for 3 day shipping, hoping my dress would get here on time for my prom on may 2nd. It's been exactly one week, and I've yet to receive my dress.
Initially I never got an email confirming my order and instead had to contact the website to find out if my order actually went through. Once I got my cheaply made dress that didn't fit I wanted to return it. I requested to return and was never contacted, so I again contacted the website inquiring. They finally sent me an authorization code, but at that time I was not able to ship because I was not home. I informed the customer service person of this and let them know I had been waiting weeks to be contacted and they were very rude and told me promgirl would make no effort to assist me. S
All of the order information would be provided to the email address in the order. Please be sure to check the spam and junk mail folders if needed. According to your order the return authorization number was requested and sent to your email on 3/3. We were contacted again on 3/20 and provided the return authorization number to you at that time as well. Our return policy allows for 7 days for us to be contacted for a return authorization then an additional 5 days to have the item postmarked. We have made an exception and have responded to the email sent. We're sorry for any confusion!
The quality of the dress was great. The fit was even better. I knew it would be too long but the top and the waist fit perfectly. My daughter's measurements were between a size 6 and 8. We chatted with the online rep and she steered us toward the 6. The price was affordable for a one-time wear dress for a junior prom. Minimum alterations made it a better deal! Can't find any problems. Delivery was right on schedule too. Prom is Saturday night.
I had never ordered anything online, it being my prom and wanting the best dress, I decided to buy this beautiful red dress on prom girl, I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of not knowing how it would fit, sizing myself was extremely easy. Anyway i proceeded and bought the dress, It was delivered to my door yesterday, I just want to say that I've never been in love with a dress before in my life! I was so relieved to open the box and see the same exact dress I had ordered. The sizing was Perfect and I have never been so happy with a purchase! This will definitely not be the last time I order a dress from prom girl.
Ordered a dress for my daughter for prom. Read the reviews about sizing before ordering. The initial email told us the dress would be delivered a week before the prom but after reading reviews about delivery decided to risk it. Dress came within 2 weeks (long before the prom deadline) and it fit her perfectly... only going to need it shortened a little. Good quality, looked just like the pictures. Everyone who has seen it has thought it was beautiful.
I was a bit uneasy about ordering a dress online but PromGirl made it so simple. They tell you exactly what to measure according to the designers sizing chart and the dresses are the real deal. I was thrilled to find out that they accept returns for either a refund or store credit. I ended up finding a different dress after I had already ordered one from PromGirl. It was very simple to obtain a return number and send back the first dress. Im so happy with the service that I will be ordering the second dress from PromGirl with my store credit instead of going through my local prom store to try to arrange the right size to be sent to the store. PromGirl is a great site!
I returned the dress was big up top and to tight at waist didn't make sense cuz the measurements we marched. The dress itself is poorly made and some beading fell off upon putting dress on. Very disappointed. I would like to know when my money will be returned

In 5'9" and even with heels this dress is long enough. Love it. Material is stretchy and comfortable. If you're between sizes I would recommend sizing down. I ordered a medium and I had it taken in through the middle. Also the dress came in 2.5 business days with standard shipping.

My daughter is tall and slender. We have been so fortunate with finding dresses true to size and appropriate length. Between my two daughters we have purchased 10 dresses through PromGirl and only one needed exchanged for size. Pleased with ordering process and timeliness of delivery.
The dress arrived quickly, when it wasn't what I wanted I sent it back and they returned my full amount (less return shipping as stated in policy) quickly to my original credit card. I will definitely use them again. They were true to their word related to their return and refund policy. Very easy to deal with and reasonable shipping rates (didn't gouge you on the return like some companies do).
After reading all the reviews i was kinda hesitant cuz its online and most reviews are kinda bad but i wanted to give it a try i ordered the dress on a sunday night and it got shipped monday morning, i chose the 3 day delivery but it got delivered tuesday, basically sooner than i expected, i dont know if its because i live in Maryland and its closer, basically the delivery went smoothly with no problems but thats not the only thing, the dress was breathtaking! It was EXACTLY like the picture! Everything was amazing in it i fell in love with the first time saw it! Will be ordering from here again soon!
Idk I guess I was lucky with this site? I didn't check reviews beforehand or anything, but I ordered from them for last year's prom and my dress came out exactly the way it was pictured. I did have to get alterations but I was expecting that. I don't believe I had to contact customer service or anything, so I don't know how they are in terms of that. I was happy with my dress, though! It didn't seem lacking anywhere, pretty exact.
The discrepancy is exactly why I'm not entitled to return it, and i did all the weirdo steps you demanded like have a textile expert look at it and confirm that it was not at all the material or color i ordered, and yes, my card did side with me given all this.

I ordered a dark red-maroon satin dress as pictured on their site, and they sent me a bright purple dress in a rough/matte finish (not satin). They refuse to refund me although the item is totally different than I ordered because it was marked as 'final sale,' and they refuse to acknowledge the law that even if an item is marked 'final sale,' it still has to be the actual same item advertised and ordered, which is it is not! I never got the item I ordered yet they refuse to refund me.
They also broke the timely delivery law yet refuse to refund me on these grounds either. The shipment was delayed past arriving 30 days from the order being placed and then they said it would be shipped by 2/25, but it actually wasn't shipped until 3/1 and they did not provide me a second update on the late shipping that I could approve or deny, but they also refuse to refund me on these grounds.
I've been going back and forth with them for weeks now on what should be a simple matter since it's the basic law in the US.
Tip for consumers:
dispute it with your card and file claims with NJ AG, your state's AG, FTC, FBI online sales crimes, because they won't follow the basic law and refund you.

My dress was true to size, arrived when promised and fit perfectly! You need to know rhat i havent bought a formal gown in 25 years! So to say i was skeptical was an understatement. But i am so pleased with my purchase ive given this website to 20 people and i hope they choose to experience the same quality i received...
Be sure to request RMA within 7 days or you are completely out of luck. Customer Service is not at all understanding or helpful. I offered to pay restocking fee or store credit and they said flat NO. Even the Director of Customer Service didn't care.
Dress ARE NOT standard sizes. My daughter is a standard size 8. One dress was way too small and the other was small in waist and big in bust (and she has a bust).

RMA must be requested in 7 days or there is no way to return goods.

Return policy is horrible! Don't shop here please. I ordered a dress and followed the size chart accordingly. The dress still didn't fit! I wanted to change the size but it was a sale item so I couldn't even do that. I asked them for an exception because the sizing chart was off, but they said no. I'm never shopping here again.
I searched the website for a significant amount of time trying to find a button that would allow me to change the price to Canadian dollars. After an unsuccessful search for this button I assumed that it was in Canadian dollars as the shipping details states Canada before changing it. On top of the ridiculous $50 shipping fee I received a bill of $330 to my account rather than the stated $250. When the dress arrived I was very upset to see that the important details in this dress including a clasp to ensure it stays up was not given as stated it would. In addition to these problems, I was promised a Sephora $10 e-gift card however I did not receive this either. The customer support stated that they would address this problem and get back to me however this was several days ago and I had originally ordered the dress about two weeks ago. I will be attending another prom next year and I can promise that it will not be from this website.
We are thrilled that the dress we ordered for our daughters bat mitzvah is perfect for Saturday services. Quality material, same color as displayed online, and it arrived in a timely fashion. We do have to get the dress altered. Its a gorgeous dress that we are very happy with!
We will use this prom girl again.
I bought my dress from promgirl.com before reading the reviews & i can honestly say i was worried because 90% of the comments were not pleasant. I was scared but thank god my dress came in 2 days. It was BEAUTIFUL! Perfect size & it wasnt crappy material like half the girls said it was on here. I love my dress!
I have purchased several dresses from prom girl and have been very pleased with the quality and service BUT the best part is the dresses usually arrive within a few days of ordering! I have only had to return one dress and promgirl was very accommodating. Only online dress store i shop for formal / semi formal dresses!
This dress fit perfectly throughout the hips. I did need to have the straps altered which was an easy fix, but other than that the dress was stunning. I have used PromGirl for 6 years of pageants and have yet to be disappointed!
