I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D
Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.
Have never left a review before, but after my experience with PromGirl and one of their supervisors, Brandon, I was left with no other choice. HORRIFIC customer service and even worse shopping experience with a company that clearly prides itself on hidden fees and very little transparency. Avoid this site at all costs.
I live in Europe and taxes for a $299 dress is 155. UPS will call you telling you that so they can deliver the package. Well, you give up the buying and UPS tells you that will return the package to the sender. Are you refund? NO! Promgirl just tells you that you had abandoned your order so they can authorize a return of a package that wasn't deliver.
Never thought this could happen in a US website. Shame on you!

I ordered a dress and it came a few days later. The color was much darker, and even a different shade, than how it was pictured online. The fit was very awkward and the material was kind of cheap. I went to return it and there is a bunch of hidden fees and I ended up losing almost $24 just to return a dress I didn't like. Wouldn't recommend using this site.

I ordered a dress for the first time from PrimGirl from Egypt to be shipped to a friend in Washington DC. The security related to the online purchase was excellent and the whole process very smooth. The customer service rep I got was very professional and friendly. The dress is gorgeous, only too long but were having it shortened.
I ordered a dress on here fof my boyfriend's military ball last fall. Wonderful quality, exactly as described. I love the free shipping and no tax. They have the best deals by far and they are 100% genuine about describing their dresses. Customer service was great, had one small issue (wasn'tevena huge deal, happened in processing) and they refunded me 50%. Wonderful. I won't shop anywhere else!
I ordered a navy blue dress for my 11 year old daughter for a middle school formal. She is very petitte and I ordered xs. While it did need to be altered to fit her (which we were expecting), the dress itself was very well made, very true to the picture on the website, and the shipping was outstanding! We received the dress 2 days after ordering. I was very pleased with the quality.
Tip for consumers:
One of the reasons we went with a Prom Girl dress was because we could see the front and back of the dresses on the website. A lot of other sites only showed the front of the dresses and a description of the back. Being a middle school formal, we wanted a dress with the back fully covered and we were able to find it here.
I originally wrote a raving review about the price and how quickly I received the dress. It wasn't until last night when I actually had to wear the dress that I discovered that this was a poorly made dress. First, the zipper got stuck in the material and it was extremely hard to get it out. However, after getting the zipper up, when I pulled the dress up under each arm, the right side ripped. This was a destination wedding and it happened 5 minutes before the shuttle arrived at our hotel to pick us up. I tried to make due with the dress for the rest of the night--however, I was extremely disappointed.
I purchased two dresses for my two daughters. Folllowed the sizes on the website. The tags are attached in such a way that thy cannot be zipped without breaking the plastic and having the tag fall off. Neither dress fit and both were extremely cheap looking. The zipper on one will not zip
I immediately called customer service. Told the rep the story. They had just been delivered so no possible way they were work to an event. Rep told me too bad - not returnable.
Will never purchase another item from Prom Girl and have told everyone I know not to as well

I will never do business with this company again. I have worked with other online businesses before but their return policy sucks. ALL the tags and dress was placed back in the bag that it was sent to us. My daughter just tried it on and it was too big for her and of course I missed the 7 day return policy. They told me to take pictures and send it and still denied me my return. LESSON LEARNED! PromGirl SUCKS

Marissa has been great. I still don't like the return policy but Marissa is probably the only one that truely responded to my problem.
Due to the seasonal nature of our merchandise, we do ask that customers contact us within 7 days to receive the return authorization number. We try to make exceptions when possible but we are not able to accept every late item. Don't believe all the negative reviews! We ordered a JVN by Jovani dress that my daughter had fallen in love with at a boutique store in a nearby city. Unfortunately, she needed a size 2 and the store only had a 4 and wouldn't be able to get another one until January. Her Fall Formal is November 15. We ordered on Sunday evening from Promgirl.com and the dress was on our porch Wednesday afternoon, just 3 days later, regular ground shipping. It is exactly as described, exactly the same dress as in the store(even $20 cheaper and no tax!). We will order from them again and will post a picture after the event.

I paid for two day shipping as my daughter would need the dress altered to a much smaller size. The customer service agent was snarky, non helpful and rude.
She offered NO solutions and I felt that she took pleasure in cutting the conversation to a halt.
All of the positives of this company and experience are countered when the dress doesnt arrive when expected and customer service is rude and non-helpful.
I hope that this was a one time experience that ended with me.
I ordered a dress and it turned out to be 3 sizes too big. I requested a return shipping label the day the dress came in and never received one. I called customer service at 4pm on a Tuesday and the machine said they were closed. Before telling me they were closed, it said they're open 8am-11pm.My prom is soon and I don't have any more time to wait on them.

I ordered my prom dress from this site and had zero problems receiving it on time and the quality was good. I ordered a second dress for my sorority formal the following spring and the quality was pretty poor, but then again I only paid $40 for it so I guess you get what you pay for. I have yet to have a negative experience here, but it appears there are some out there. Bottom line, be cautious but don't be afraid to order a dress from here.
All my daugter's high school dance dresses have been from PromGirl with great fit and good quality. Recent pirchase was a Beautiful dress but it wasn't the right color on my daughter. Great customer service and paid shipping for the return! I would order again knowing that if we make a mistake the return is easy and Prom Girl provided the prepaid shipping label.
My dress wasn't as nice as it was supposed to be, nor did it fit according to the size chart. I was (supposedly) in between an 8 and 10, and I went down even though you're supposed to go up, and it was still huge. Never again ordering a dress offline.
We're sorry to hear the designer dress didn't fit! In regards to size, you will need to compare your measurements to the size chart provided from the designer for each dress. You must consider your body type and the style of the dress. The chart will recommend a size to accommodate the largest measurement but ultimately the sizing is up to you! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I spent a ton of time on the phone and online with customer service reps. They assured me that i could purchase a smaller dress and return the original bigger one once it arrived. It arrived over Labor Day, not the original date that is was supposed to arrive. I was away with my family. I guess I had only one day to call and get the return going. Now i have 2 dresses one in size XS and one in size S. They did not honor what they said they were going to do.

I bought a dress from Promgirl for my wedding. I measured myself and purchased the dress with the same measurements. It was waaaaaayyyy too big. I figured it wouldn't be perfect, and planned to have it tailored but the material was so cheap that I was too embarrassed to take it to a tailor. I returned it to promgirl stating that the measurements were incorrect. I received only a partial refund to cover a "restocking fee." Apparently it is my fault they don't know how to measure a dress. I will never buy from them again and strongly discourage anyone from making the same mistake as I did. I ended up getting a beautiful dress that fits perfectly for half the price at Macy's.
The dress was great quality and form fitting. I Recieved many complements. Only dislike is how lose the netting is other thank that loved the dress. In my opinion the dress runs bigger than actual size.
Ordered a. 2x for my daughters prom it is about 8" off the dress is not even a 16... then they want 10% restocking fee... found the. Same dress in her size for $85... they charged me $99... RIPOFF ARTIST... never again... BBB... needs to investigate... class action suit
For the first time ordering a dress I wasn't sure what I'd get. I loved the quality of the dress and the bead work on the dress was beautiful. I would order from you again. With very little alterations the dress will be great. My daughter is 5'10" and the dress was long enough! Finally!
I was very nervous about ordering online. However, I used the size chart and decided to take the risk because of how in love I was with the dress. The dress came in about four days and I was more than pleased with the product. The negative reviews also sort of scared me, however, most of them are about the return policy. I did not have to deal with returning the dress, so this was not an issue for me. I had a very positive expirience with promgirl! I love my dress and the fit. The dress was exactly as shown and fits perfect on me without alterations. I ordered a small and am a 510 140 lb 32dd and it is perfect. Only complaint is that there is no padding in the front so lets hope prom isnt cold :) thanks for the amazing dress!
One thing that I was a little disappointed was a couple of the beading came off as my daughter was trying it on but they are easily fixed just wish it didnt happen. Love the dress and it fits like a glove and very ture to size.
I returned the dress that i bought, unworn, and with correct labels and all, and i never heard back from you. If my dress didn't qualify then I at least want an email saying that it didn't. Also if it didn't qualify, what am I supposed to do about the nearly $200 I just lost since you have the dress now it's not like I gained anything from it.
