I competed in a pageant this past January with a dress I ordered from Promgirl. It came on time and my dress was great. I am short and so my mom had to fix it a little but that's not the company or website's fault. A lot of people loved my dress and while this was my first time ordering from there, I really do believe PromGirl is not a scam. Seconds after ordering, I got an email from google saying they would protect my purchase if anything happened. I felt safe the whole time. :D

Return policy is not clearly expressed prior to ordering. Refunds are not accepted and you are held captive to return business via store credit or lose your money outright. Shame on you Promgirl for taking advantage of the online buyer How is one supposed to know what an online dress will look like in person, but it doesn't matter because you already have my money. In this new world of online shopping, this practice is Absolutely wrong and deceitful.

After exchanging the dress to try a different size, still the dress didn't fit properly, had to invest extra $50 for a seamstress to fix it to be able to wear to the party. The company should at least offer free shipping on returns as well since their sizes are really off. Better off buying from a retailer like Macy's or JC Penney, at least returns and exchanges are guaranteed 100% refund.

We ordered my daughters dress 2 weeks before prom so decided to pay for 2 day shipping. We measured her using the prom girl website and went by their recommendation as to what size to order, even though my daughter NEVER wears that size in anything else. I was concerned but figured maybe the dress ran small. The dress arrived and was close to 2 sizes too big! The dress would have had to be completely reconstructed. So we had no choice but to order another, pay another 2 day shipping fee AND a $35 restocking fee for the other dress that was too big! Keep in mind that was the size that prom girl said to order. The smaller size came and still needed alterations but nothing like the recommended size would have needed. Really disappointed about paying a restocking fee for the dress and size that was recommended by the website itself.

All the dresses from the site are authentic and are the brand that they say that they are. I would suggest to anyone buying a brand name prom dress- try it on in store and then order it from this site. There is a return policy in place but I would try the dress on first in a store so that you don't have to deal with the restocking fee.
I was very pleased with my dress and it shipped to my house very fast and was identical to the one that I tried on in store. Prom Girl knows what they are doing! Very happy with my purchase and the professionalism of the service. Recommending everyone who is looking for a knockout prom dress!
Also the people who are having problems with the beading and quality of their dresses- you are buying the inexpensive dresses off of this site, it is not the fault of the site but of the manufacturer.

Tip for consumers:
Authentic dresses, but make sure you love it before you buy!!

I found this review site after I had ordered a dress from PromGirl so was feeling a bit worried after reading so many negative comments. But I have to say my experience has been a positive one. My order was dispatched straight away and arrived 6 days later. The dress was exactly as I was expecting and the sizing was right.

If you're from Canada I would definitely order from here. Ive ordered from here several times with 0 problems. The only reason why its not a 5 star is because the shipping is $50 to Canada or $75 for expedited shipping.

In April I ordered a dress that stated the ship date would be April 6 or 8 (I can't remember exactly) but after I ordered it, I was sent an email stating its not scheduled to ship until April 16. Which wouldn't work because it takes 5-9 business days and I also have to add cap sleeves to my dress so it wouldn't be done in time for the event.

I contacted customer service right away and they were extremely helpful. They had it ship way earlier and they upgraded my shipping to expedited. I was really satisfied with their service :) I totally recommend this place.

I ordered my dress for prom on May 5 and it was delivered on the may 7. It came faster than I predicted. If done correctly it will fit you. I inserted my sizes and am a size 0. It arrived EXACTLY how I ordered it-- red and size 0. It fit perfectly-- not too tight not too loose. Needed no alterations. If you want a good experience, I would suggest reading everything ( return policy, shipping time, etc) and enter YOUR correct measurements. Also, keep track of your dress. Try it! And if the site lets you down ship it back and get your money back. Don't let the negative reviews sway you. Some of them did not read before hand of the return policy, shipping time, etc. Im glad I went ahead and ordered instead of listening to the "warners" of purchasing online. I planned ahead just in case and read everything before I got the dress.

I went here to order my dream dress. I checked the sizing chart 119 times and I was so thrilled that the dress came in a double zero. It seemed finally I would be able to have a homecoming dress that fit! Alas it was not meant to be. I dropped $230 on a dress because the sizing chart made it look like it was going to fit. I measured, remeasured, it should have been perfect. Instead I got a 00 dress that looked like it was made for someone with DD boobs. 31.5 inch bust? No way. I'm never going to buy from this store again. I'm literally heart broken. When you save your hard earned money to make the first big purchase of your life, you don't expect to be cheated by a faulty size guide. These dresses are to expensive to be making errors like that. This site proves once and for all that you should stick to dress shopping in store only.

They contacted me a day after I placed my order to tell me that they no longer had it in my size, which is annoying because I think that kind of thing should be constantly updated. But they canceled my order and gave me a $20 off coupon, so I instead bought the same dress in a size up. It arrived on time and was in perfect shape. My only complaint really is that they don't update dresses on their website until someone orders it.

Purchased the dress from the sale dresses which was still a bit pricey but the dress is gorgeous so I'd say we are satisfied. It was slightly big from the measurement chart but not sure if its because of the cut of the dress. If I would have time I would have returned for a smaller size. FAST and FREE shipping on my order! Overall satisfied.

This site is a scam. I ordered a dress large size, and they in turn sent the medium size. When I tried to return the dress I was told it was my problem and nothing to help me they can do, because the return is possible only for five days. They simply rid of that horrible warehouse sending to anybody. My worst experience of online shopping. Do not advise anyone.

Promgirl never even answered my email about returning two out of three dresses purchased. Did not even open box within 7 days because I was away, and never dreamed they would have such a restrictive policy. It is most certainly still prom season-two months or more to go-and I am sure they could still sell the dress. All other stores of this nature have much more liberal and fair return policies. I was aware of the exorbitant restocking fee, which in itself is robbery, but not being able to return the dresses at all is ridiculous. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! I just threw away $300 for two poorly made dresses that no one will ever be able to wear. I will report them to the Better Business Bureau for their unfair policies and lack of customer service.

Ordered prom dress for my daughter that was out of stock at other sites. I was leery at first since one of the only local stores that sold that designer told me that the dress would not be recut until June 2011 which would have been too late. I am aware of the "limited" return policy, but majority of Online stores have the same policy. It helps to try on the a similar dress first before placing the order to make sure you are ordering the correct size. My daughter was sure of the size and now has the dress of her dreams. Not only did I chat online "to get their response in writing", but also ordered the dress over the phone. I wanted to be sure the dress would arrive in time by placing an overnight delivery. The dress was waiting for us at the door on the very next day! My daughter is happy and that is all that matters.

We ordered a prom dress. Due to issues etc (hospitalization) I messed up in returning dress on time. Plus the bodice does not match quality of dress and would have to be modified (at our cost) For 30 minutes I pleaded with a "Customer Service Agent" who would not listen etc. But recite their rules. DO NOT PURCHASE from this company if you need service or understanding. I understand now why their ratings are below 4 stars now.

Love the dress. And super fast shipping! The dress fits good and looks even better in person. Prom is not till the 19 but just have to alter the straps a little because they are loose but other wise a good purchase so far.

Great dress! I ordered a size 11 and it fits great. Looks exactly like the picture and turned out exactly how I expected. Shipping was on time which was great. Overall loved it, have no complaints, and would order from this website again :)

We ordered 2 dresses for an event that is taking place tomorrow evening. We knew we would keep one and send one back. My daughter picked one and I mailed one back. When she finally tried it on for me (after I sent the one back) I did not like it at all. Either the hook or the eye was missing. She did take the tags off of the dress however, it would pass inspection on never being worn as it was never worn. Now I am out $150 on top of the cost of the dress we did buy, from a local dress shop, that she will wear to prom tomorrow. I would never recommend this company to anyone and it appears that most of the reviews in this site are one star. Let it be a red flag.

I ordered some dresses for my daughter - about 8 of them - I understood that there would be a restocking fee of 10% but I chose to make the purchase anyway. One of the dresses appeared in my cart as "final sale - no returns", so I deleted that dress, as I wasn't sure it would be a keeper anyway. The dresses arrive at my house, she tries them on and (no surprise) some dresses didn't suit her, so I went to return them, only to find out that most of them were now listed as "final sale - no return" so we're stuck with them. This is an underhanded business practice. Also, for the dresses I could return, they sent me a bogus UPS label! Shady business.

Tip for consumers:
Go order from amazon.com or go to Target - you'll find better clothes there...

Before you order anything, check to see if you can actually speak to a person. The phone was disconnected last time I checked. The dress that we ordered is the worst quality that I have ever seen. We are now frantically trying to find a dress because my daughter cannot wear the dress that was sent.The product is from China.

I ordered from this company based on the fact that they blast "free returns" all over thier website. Thinking I could just return the dress if it didn't fit. The dress didn't end up fitting and when I returned it they charged me a hefty 10% restocking fee for something that was brand spanking new. For a dress that's $240, that's a $44 restocking fee. Absolutely ridiculous! And they actually deduct shipping from you too. Don't buy from this company. They r just getting rich off restocking fees and bad business practice.

Also, they don't keep track of inventory... I ordered a dress from them & they called me back to tell me it wasn't in stock. They take money without it even being in stock.

The standard return policy for special occasion dresses is "no returns," but we want to ensure you have your special dress for your event so we accept returns for a refund less the 10% restocking fee or for a full store credit as long as it does not state "Final Sale- No Returns." The restocking fee on a dress that is $240 would be $24. Please note the option for store credit would not have a restocking fee deducted. In regards to our stock, we keep the site as up to date as possible. We are an online based business so many orders can be placed at the same time. After you place your order, your credit card company will place a hold on the funds for the amount of the order to validate your credit card. Normally your account is not charged until the order ships, however if the item you ordered is a special order item your credit card may be charged within 3 days of placing the order depending on the ship date the manufacture provides. In the event that the item you ordered becomes unavailable, you will receive a refund in full for the unavailable product or all the funds would be released back to you if they are still only on hold. If a store credit was used to make your purchase your store credit will be reinstated. We apologize for any confusion!

The dress was what I expected as far as design & material. However, my boobs are heavy and the straps on this dress are very thin. Everything fits but Im hesitant on bending over to much because the straps may tear.

My dress strap snapped during my pictures before I even made it to prom, and it was the first Ive worn it. The strap was hanging on by TWO threads and seconds later snapped. The dress is too big for me, so its not like it was being pulled on. Will NOT be buying from this company again.

Terrible experience. On the hook for over $500, ordering from Canada. Return policy is the worst I've seen for online shopping, and the quality of the dress is less than half that is claimed by Promgirl. Sty away from this site.

Bought a $300 homecoming dress for my daughter. I've never spent that much money on a prom dress, let alone a homecoming dress! However, the picture on the website was very cute, so I made an exception. It is still a very cute dress, but for $300, we expected much more. The material is cotton and has a waffle-like pattern to it, making it seem casual. That doesn't show in the picture at all. We expected a fabric that would present in a more formal way. Also, for $300, I feel like the company should have faster shipping without having to pay extra. I paid for standard shipping and it took 9 days to arrive. Over all, I feel like I paid about $150-200 more than what this dress is actually worth.

This is the worst site i have ever tried to order from. I got my dress that I ordered and it was a completely different color than what was shown in the picture and the sequins were literally coming off of the dress! The stitching was pulling out the instant I tried it on for the first time. When I called customer service they were rude and would not work with me in any way possible. I wouldnt advise anyone to ever order from here!

I spent $100 on a prom dress that came with a broken zipper and a hole in the back. By the time I got the dress to my house, it was too late to return it. So I had to go and spend $125 to fix all of the problems with it. Im pissed off that PromGirl would even send me a dress with all of these problems, especially when I paid $100 for it.
