I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe. The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case. After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number. No support what so ever but we will keep pushing. After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
Terrible service from a money transfer company who promise the world and deliver a barren atoll. Subject to fraudulent scammers their systems are suspect and compromised. Don't ever ever use, bad follow up bad customer service. Just an absolute disaster to deal with.

I was referred by a frnd to use this remitly, but I will tell u that they are the worst. They don't know what they are doing. Asked me to upload every docs for verification, I did, but couldn't verify statement of acct from bank, was reading it upside down, frustrated hell out of me. Their service is THE WORST I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE. NO SUPERVISOR TO HELP THE EMPLOYEES OUT. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE OR U WILL BE FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR SERVICE. I wished I had recorded call, u would have listened to it a see how staff were misinterpreting statement of account from a bank. I gave u 1 star because I did not see ZERO STAR!

They will put your funds on hold and request for your Bank statement (in my case, I have to send it twice). Customer service is below zero and interrogate you as if you committed crime by sending money to your love ones. They keep all your information and without any guarantee that it will be secure. DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF USING THEM. I wish I read the reviews about them first.

Remitly made a point of entering my account without my knowledge, charged me thousands without my consent, did not provide the service I paid for and after all that, refused to send back any money. There are actually 5 pages of charges, but I could only load one here. You are not aware of the massive amount you are actually being charged until its over.

ON MAY 1st, 2023, Remitly robbed me of $1,992.00 and some change. They charged me a fortune, never sent the money, never returned it to me, nor the excessive charges nor the fees. I sent the proof to banking regulators, the Federal Trade Commission, and The Attorney General's office.
Also, they deliberately break down the charges onto small clumps, because they know that it takes between $25.00 to $50.00 for each attempt at a CHARGEBACK. This us done deliberately to prevent you from making a CHARGEBACK against their company. They are shrewd and calculating. BEWARE OF REMITLY. Do not use this company. You WILL REGRET IT.

Remitly did not meet my expectations. Spent my day off arguing over text with multiple agents about the money I sent to the Philippines. It was 0800 when I sent the money. At 5 pm, the money was still not available for pick up. When I asked why, they had so many excuses. One of the excuse, system is down, your recipient's bank account is not valid... imagine texting someone all day. My 11 hours was wasted trying to cancel the transaction. Then it will take 10 days for my money to be refunded! This REMITLY COMPANY HAD CAUSED ME STRESSED FOR 11 hours! NEVER AGAIN! DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

I sent just over 200 pounds urgently to my mother-in-law on Friday 05/06/20 and was given an estimated time of around 5 minutes for transfer to go through. But then the funds went on hold, hence l called customer services which was equally a waste of time. I was informed they cannot do anything about it and that I have to give it about an hour. Fast forward to Saturday 06/06/20, I received a message from Remitly to say, they required further information from me before the transfer can go through. I was instructed to sign into my account to complete this. I logged into my account only to find a message saying, I should upload a screenshot of my bank account as security precaution. Now, my question is who requires your bank accounts for sending just over 200 pounds. Normal people ask for a passport or your driving license, not my full bank account details. This made me query the credibility of the company hence requested a refund. I received an email to say my refund will be in my accounts on the 06/06/20, but as I write this review today 07/06/20, the money has still not be refunded. Meaning a delay in re-transferring the money to my in-law. What a joke of a company. Stay away completely from them.

The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever. I've been using it for a year using it for many transactions. But recently when I had an issue (I chose Express service, supposed to be Within 4 hours as on their advertising, but turned out 5 days as the Economy service), I tried to called few times to find the answer, they Kept Putting me on Hold for more than 15mins, and when I tried to reach out to them, they just Ignored me so that I would hang up the phone myself. Tried to speak to a supervisor, no news

ZERO STAR for customer service. I requested to upgrade my limit for money transfer. After answered all requested questions from them and the last step was they required to make a phone call to verify but that number they provided didn't work. Then, I had an online chat with online support team but they were unhelpful at all. I emailed them about the situation and after waiting for few days I finally got the answer that they are unable to upgrade my limit without a reason.
Luckily my friend introduced me TRANSFER WISE that service is perfect and I didn't have to pay any fee for the 1st time transfer referred by friend. Highly Recommended TRANSFER WISE to everybody.

I am so mad at this company i am wasting my morning telling everyone. These people are into info gathering more than money transfers. They wanted prior address prior jobs close relatives info. And all to send 100 dollars to a young woman in clothes. They asked me so many questiins about her i thought the guy was wantingnto date her or something. Then they asked about our relationship. Then they wanted to know what she was buying with the money. Then theblittle Nazi tells me we dont approve of herbusing the money to buy sexy clothes. You have violated our policy transfer is cancelled and your banned for life. This after she is waiting in colombia fornover 4 hours. Trans # 188 171 652 34. Bizarre. Used xoom took 3 minutes and xoom didnt even need to know what color her panties where today they just sent the money. Kinda like a real money transfer service.

I made a transfer on 10.08.2021 and it was promised to deliver on 10.08 2021 at 11:02am.
As i am writting it is 11.08.2021 at 10:05am money has not been deposited, i have contacted Remitly with phone, chats and facebook, they do not have an idea where is the money and when it will be deposited since yesterday, they are asking me to wait 24-48hours from 11.08.2021, and mind it was express transfer made on 10.08.2021 morning.
They freezed my account so that i can not chat with them, i can not edit the transfer, its a total scam. When i called after i mentioned my details they hanged the phone.
I am heading to police to report and get help.
Do not use this service, they are scammers, after seing you are sending money that is thr time your money will not be deposited.

After verifying 8 times via SSN, Bank statements, bank account number(s), several questions about funds justifications, and an entire week of phone calls, decided not to use this services and go back to the Western Union. The process is painful even when they have ALL of MY information. This company caused a severe delay on a time sensitive family event. DO NOT RECOMMEND REMITLY - Stick to the market major companies out there.

Me and my mom used Remitly now to send money to my friend in Costa Rica. We did it yesterday and thought that the money was sent! But no, my mom wakes up today to an email from Remitly asking her to verify that it's actually her. So she answers the email, but ends up getting another email telling her that she needs to call them. So she calls and they ask her all kinds of personal questions about herself and the person we are sending money to. My mom got really scared and she had to wait several minutes just to get asked to wait another hour until they would call her again. When they eventually calls they asked more questions and then asked her to wait an hour more. Then she gets an email saying the money is ready for pick up. This was a really bad experience, and I don't even know if my friend in Costa Rica is going to be able to receive the money because they said in the last email that she has to have a photo ID, and she doesn't have a passport. Almost no one does in Costa Rica because of the high cost of getting one. Next time I'm going to use another company that doesn't complicate things this much, and doesn't interrogate my poor mother on the phone 2 times! She said she felt like they thought she was a terrorist. NOT HAPPY AT ALL with Remitly's way of doing business

In a way I'm kinda happy to see it wasn't just me. But Remitly's way of doing business is just overall horrible. I don't think they have a company policy or focus, it's almost like everyday they flip coins to see what their actions will be.
So on to the reason I won't do business with them again. I sent money to someone in another country, everything went well. It was pretty quick and I had no issues whatsoever. The next time I tried to send the same amount, nothing different about me or the recipient, they had to review my transaction "for my security". [Sidebar -- It's 2021, everything arbitrary will be done under the "keeping you safe" umbrella. You guys asked for this]
Anyway, they cancelled the transfer. No reason, but I'm guessing when they flipped coins this morning it made transactions identical to prior transactions cancelled. Will try one of their competitors.
But everyone needs to understand crypto. You don't need to buy bitcoin, you can buy the crypto version of a dollar which is worth a dollar. Then you can send that dollar to your friend from your phone. Cutting out every single person at Remitly and all the other middlemen worthless positions. Those in power hate crypto because it puts a lot of their banker friends out of work. Which is why you should look into it :)

I tried sending US $1010. 00 to a bank overseas on February 17,2022. Remitly confirmed using their bogus auto emails to me that the proceeds were delivered to my beneficiary's account but the bank never received the amount. This international bank management and officials are known to me. The bank performed an internal inquiry and initiated a trace for the missing funds and transacted amount, and confirmed to me that nothing from Remitly hit their bank accounts. I complained to Remitly customer service which itself is a big fraud. They customer care specialists cannot even speak English. They will be give you false promises and nothing will happen. I wish the USA's Federal exchange regulation shut this financial fraudsters down from other consumer complaints. Don't even try to do business with this scammers. My matter is now being taken up by the Maryland Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation and another complaint pending at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to have this fraudsters blacklisted and litigated for wire fraud.

They don't actually transfer amounts above $1050.
Here is their game. After completing a transaction, they hold your money claiming it is pending. When you get in touch with the so called customer service which is located in India and useless because the customer service itself doesn't have any contact with REMITLY meaning they cant help out in anything. They will ask you to cancel the transaction, here you are getting into the game. The moment you cancel, you will never receive your money on your account. What is claimed on the website about refund policy is all lies. When you get back to the so called scam customer service, they will guarantee you that the money was transferred back to your account the day you cancelled and that, you should call your bank. I did call my bank just to hear that, they hear much about these guys, they are not honest, their bank account for Europe is in Belgium, my bank in the Netherlands. EU transactions take maximum 1 day or even seconds after transfer.
The information from my bank further proves that, these guys are just a scam. They will use your money until they make enough profit from it then return it to you. In my case they haven't got enough profit from it so I haven't received my money back.
My sad moment is the money was meant for an urgent medical intervention. The person passed away due to REMITLY negligence.
Avoid them at all cost!
