I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe. The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case. After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number. No support what so ever but we will keep pushing. After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
Terrible service from a money transfer company who promise the world and deliver a barren atoll. Subject to fraudulent scammers their systems are suspect and compromised. Don't ever ever use, bad follow up bad customer service. Just an absolute disaster to deal with.
Incredibly good experience with Remitly, support between June 7 and 11. I sent 800 euros to my wife in Saint Petersburg for surgery on June 11. A day later, after sending I received an email that the amount was on hold. It finally worked out that the bank requires middle name as I understand many not use this in Russia, anyway the Russian bank declined and ended up with stress money was blocked for some period. But Remitly US support was amazing, they did all to correct it and even confirmed they will change the process a bit for customer to avoid next time issues to validate you must give the middle name as well. Very impressed by how they convert the stress we got with the Russian receivers bank to handle all and used other bank and got our money paid out. Big thanks to the support for this. Absolute amazing.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a transfer a few months back that was never process by the the bank recipient. I called customer service and put in a request to get the transaction looked at and after the investigation was done, they concluded the transfer was never process which ended up in a refund. Fast forward to now and I'm trying to utilize the app again only to find out my account has been suspended and it is their final decision. I did not get any explanation/reasons for this decision as their customer service stated they did not have the authorization to disclose the information. Please don't waste your time and if you could avoid this app at all cost.

Someone hacked my remotely account and made fraudulent transaction; I opened a dispute with them; first they said yes, our investigation shows it is fraud later after two month they claim same money from my account and closed my account! Don't use this company they have 3rd class security analyst who don't know how to protect the customer profile. And everyone will tell you new story without knowledge total fraud and wastage of time company.

The payment by card works, but they offer a cheap in theory service called "quick bank transfer" thats they didn't mention that will likely fail on certain cases (Uk security, bank issues, account dups, etc)
If thats the case they still take your money but cancel your order and them you will need to start legal fights to recover your funds. (Hopefully)
They put the blame also on your bank but you can see the money take it by Remitly on your statement. Support will blame your bank

Remitly is not a good money transfer, trust me stay away. I sent a transfer and it was cancelled for the reason that it looks suspicious, if it looks suspicious contact me and ask me, just don't cancel. On another time I sent funds by mistake, it took 3 months for it to be returned. I'm closing my account with them.

I called Remitly on Saturday to tell them someone stole my information. They said they would not allow anymore transactions with my bank account information. On Monday I wake up to see another transaction has occurred for another $1200.00. I have called and it is the same scripted BS. I am filing a class-action suit against them. My primary concern is the call center representative doesn't have enough interest in my frustration and does nothing to alleviate the situation, neither psychologically nor monetarily.
My money transfer was on hold. I was emailed that it would be a few hours. The other bank had the money I was told...
If there is a reasonable expectation that the other party will refund the money in question (I asked for them to cancel it so I can use a different platform), then Remitly should refund me right away of their own accord.

The thing to be aware of is the cost of transfer and the length of time taken to transfer. There are services that do this for free, but it could take 3 or 4 days.
Remitly typically transfers within minutes, but this is the second time they have held my money due to another bank.

They respond to no one. Do not respond to emails. Have ripped people off on several occasions. If you get ripped off of which I have they do nothing. Put you on hold transfer to to someone else. This company and their team should be in jail and hopefully one day they all will be. Their reviews are terrible no matter where you look. This is a scam company.

No way to verify the account number of the sender was entered correctly. They only display the last 4 numbers. If you click on edit, you have to enter all the numbers again. The major problem with outsourcing development. They don't value a good project manager.

I only attempted one transaction through their system. The transaction failed (because my source bank thought remitly was a fraud site but I responded to their message that it was not, and my source bank is no longer blocking remitly). When I tried again, my transaction failed again and now, my entire remitly account was locked because they "noticed some suspicious activity and took some precautions".
I contacted their helpdesk but they had no clue why it failed and why account was locked. I escalated and asked them to delete my account, including my debit card details but their support and escalation staff are absolutely clueless and just keep giving canned messages. Instead of deleting my account, they unlocked it and asked me to try after 1 week. What a joke! I don't even want to use their service anymore. I just want them to delete my account and all my info. I don't recommend this service to anyone.

Worst money transfer service ever. Tried to send money for a deposit on a tour in Madagascar. Completed all the data and submitted for transfer. Some time later I receive a notice that my transfer has been cancelled and my account closed. Talked with customer service and they are unwilling to do anything and won't tell me why they wouldn't complete the transfer. What a scam! Don't waste your time.

I've already sent millions of documents, I call every day to find out where my money is and it's been a month since they say they're going to return it and they don't.

This service was suggested by someone who blackmailed us and he literally knew the questions remitly is going to ask to make a transfer. Unless someone who is blackmailing you sending bad videos on FB and ask you to use their services you know the two teams are tied.

I wanted to make a transfer to the Dominican Republic from my bank account. After having placed the transfer, they wrote to me that they needed my attention. When I check, they ask me to send a copy of my bank statement and call them. I sent my bank statement and when I called, Dilan answered and told me that the transaction could not be carried out and that my account would be suspended and I would never be able to use Remitly again. They blocked me as if I was doing fraud. I checked the transfer details and all my bank details were correct. I asked Dilan to explain why and he couldn't tell me. I asked him to contact a supervisor to explain me why I had been 'removed' from Remitly and he didn't want to. It was a horrible experience, feeling like I was being treated like a criminal who wanted to commit fraud! Then I used Western Union and I didn't have any problems and it was very economical. Remitly is a new app that definitely lacks the Western Union experience

Don't waste your time with this service. Nothing could be worse that than this poor excuse for a legitiamate enterprise. I have an excellent credit rating. I have used bank transfers and the Wise service on other transactions. Here is their response to my inquiry after my transaction was refused:
As mentioned in our last email, our team identified potential discrepancies between your account and the activities allowed under our User Agreement. Because of this, we deactivated your Remitly account. Please know that we will not be able to process future transactions on your behalf.
While we do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, we are not able to provide any additional insight into this matter or reconsider the decision.

Simply they are telling we are not responsible we sent the money but if received or no, they cannot confirm and they cannot take any action

The first time that you make a transfer they will process it relatively smoothly, specially if it is a small amount. The second time they will get you. They disappear with your money and you will be dragged into a nightmare, dealing with customer services agents that are totally incompetent, barely speak English, and are trained to repeat the same thing over and over with the only intend to tire you out, and make you give up. Even if you send them written formal requests for an explanation, they will never respond. You will have to take them to court, which most people can't afford to to, or most likely, you will just give up. End result: Remitly wins, you lose!

The money transfer business is very competitive and there are lots of options out there. Stay away from this Remitly. Save your money and your sanity.

For a first time customer, Remitly offered the same rate for express sending as economy. Believing this, I did a money transfer overseas using the express option. However, while sending the money Remitly changed the sending speed to economy without any notification. Also they have a very small sending limit and totally useless rules that make it so inconvenient for people sending money for urgent and dire needs.

I created my account (providing all information requested) and then started to make transfer. I got message that I can't do transfer until I provide ID! I already created account and provided all required! For ID this time they requested a video of my self while talking! When I asked why it was not requested while I was creating my account - no answer. When I asked to provide me with the a legal document stating this requirement - no answer. Do not get me wrong, I got a lot of talking, but no answers. You also can't delete your account or remove some of your personal information. It is also not clear (I got conflicting answers from different people) if your personal info permanently deleted from there data or stays there after THEY delete your account at your request. I am waiting on confirmation that they deleted my account and my personal info...

I have sent $500 to my family. Remitly sent me email confirmation that money been deposited to bank account. But my recipient told me it wasn't deposited. I have contacted Remitly several time, every time they said within 3 days they will fix it. But it's been almost 2 months and didn't get my money back. I tried to increase my tier level to be able to give support to people in Nepal. I put charity /aid as it is aid that I am giving. Not to a charity.
They suspended my account and said I needed to call in. 7 hours calling from Nepal and they then would not get a manager on to speak with me, as they said it is their policy not to allow to send to charities. I said it is support. Could I change my answer as it is more support than charity and they refused. So I asked to speak to a manager. No manager came in the line after 5 minutes I hung up. They asked me why I wanted to transfer money. I told them to buy food. They told me I had to send the receipts for the food purchases first.
Have they ever read "Catch 22"? Send receipts for spending money I have not yet received?
