As a retired New Yorker living abroad I have been using Remitly for some time. Problem is every other transaction I get flag and have to give a mile long background. I'm transferring money from my NY Citibank account to my DR account. I guess because my last name I'm discriminated. And the worst part is they do you wrong when you most need them. This is my latest transaction R52 954 040 614. Racists.
I sent money on the 31/08/2022, it's now the 8th of September and my recipient still hasn't received their money. I have been calling their customer service every single day non stop and like parrots just repeat saying the same thing. They won't refund money nor will they send to my recipient. My recipient company have also confirmed no payment was ever received by them. I'm loosing my mind with this company and don't know where else to go for a resolution.
This business has stolen 1300$ USD worth of my money. I tried sending the money to my home country to pay for my Dad's flight ticket. Accidently, I sent it twice. Remitly has been trying to cancel my transaction for the past two weeks. I cancelled it on March 6th, 2022. It is March 24,2022 today. As of this writing, the company has failed to give me a reason or say why this transaction is taking so long to just be cancelled. STAY AWAY. This company will run away with your money! This company needs to be SUED and should be stopped operating in the US

I wish I had read these reviews before attempting to send money; I only used them because I saw their ad that said they add $15 to a transfer of $100+ to Nigeria and the fees were cheap - I thought great! Not great at all. Interrogated and made to feel like a criminal. I told the CS rep what I thought of their terms of service. This is what American companies have become under the Trump administration - sending to countries that are not predominately white and you will wish you had not. Sticking with Western Union in the future.
They legit suck. They suspended my account after asking 100 verification questions. No regard for what a person is using their app for. No wonder if i'll ever receive a refund of the transaction. The lady over the phone refused to share the reason of suspension as well. I repeat never use it.

This company have changed can't deal with more than £400 transactions. I have been using them to transfer money to Kenya for long time via mobile but mother has been in hospital over four weeks. I was trying to send money to a Kenyan bank to clear her private hospital bills but the money never got there. Remitly showed the account in Kenya has been credited. When I called the customer service, they were asking my bank details and the receipt bank details. This went on for a whole week. Finally they said they couldn't deposit money to Kenya bank because it was wrong or dominant. So they knew the deposit was not made in the place. Please don't use these people my blood pressure is so high right now and my mental health have been affected so badly. They need to be investigated

Hi Guys. Never use Remitly app to send money... I lost lakhs of rupees which I requested a transaction for a medical emergency. Remitly took money and bever deposited. Called help desk many times. But no use. From last 4 days telling some silly reason. Getting email funds transferred but never deposited

At the start they're telling me it will be a immediate transaction if I pay with debit card but once I paid it says I need to wait for an hour, ok fine, I waited and then they asked me to call the next day, then it says suspicious activity, and my money is now frozen! Thank god it's not emergency!
If I didn't get angry and yelled at one of the 6 customer service representatives never had access to the Authorization Form that the receiver needed to fill out in order to authorize the transaction. My relative went to one of the Banks this company has as associate in Colombia. My father went to the Banco Popular and they did not have any idea of any form or transaction through Remitly. I followed the steps on their website, it's inaccurate, incomplete, and they failed offering "fast and easy way to send money" over the 24 hours! Nobody called me, I was the one to call 4 times.
Beware of this company, if something gets wrong you are screwed. The costumer service is horrible and unprofessional. Every time I call or text to know what happen to my bank deposit I get new story. Either they don't know what they are talking about or they are l just lying to me. Meanwhile, I'm still running to behind my money after a month for a transaction that supposed to take 3 days. I hope one day I get my money back. When you use the chat they just ignore you
It doesn't make sense why Remitly asking for a second verification. Even you've send so many transfers. Why not ask the first day or ask a passport not a freaking ID! I'm done using this app! Unprofessional, waste of my time.
I tried to send money to my friend through this joke of a company. I went through all the hoops they asked if me. They sent a message that it would be an hour for processing. The next day, I got a message saying the transaction was cancelled due to suspicious circumstances. I was also locked out of my account. When I called them they insisted they know more about the reason I wanted to send the money. Who is my recipient? What is our relationship? What is my purpose for sending the money? I said that I am sending money to a friend. Beyond that they have no right to know anything. It's an invasion of privacy. After spending an inordinate amount of time on hold and after speaking with a supervisor, who continued to insist on knowing about my and my friend's private life, he refused to do the one thing that this company does, making it a completely and utterly useless entity with no good reason to exist.
Do not use Remitly. Tried sending a transfer to Pakistan and my Remitly App shows the status as delivered but the recipient has not received any funds. Waste of time and effort. Been trying to contact Remitly and no one has helped yet. Hope to resolve this ASAP

Continuously delayed transactions; not meeting expectations. Inconsistent updates with variations of explanations. Horrible customer service; they offer no incentives for delayed transactions when I paid for a service that has yet to happen. What should take 5 mins is now 14 hours with no set time of resolution. This is unacceptable!
Terrible company. Suspended my account with no explanation! Sent 35.00 dollars to a loved one and transaction cancelled with no explanation. Used chat line and they refer me to their list of violation. Never violated their polices and was told sorry. Very insulted by their treatment. Do not waste your time.

The first few times I used Remitly I was really pleased with the ease and speed of transaction, so I accepted that the conversion rate was not the best. However today I tried to transfer $3500 USD. About an hour later I received an email asking for a copy of my passport photo page. When the money was not deposited in recipient account 6 hours later, I got on line with the 24 hour chat. The rep told me my document submission was received and money would arrive in 2-8 hours. I asked if she could confirm it would arrive in 8 hours. She "could not guarantee." Then I asked her to cancel,and she said she could "request" it but it would take 10 days "if approved." So of course now I'm stuck because I can't tie up the money for 10 days. Do not use this service!

Service is rubbish. Could not run a bath. Offered to send £1,000 to a company in South Africa and totally failed to do so. I am waiting for my money to be returned - I was told 7 - 10 days. Outrageous.

This company does not take responsibility for fraudulent transactions. A scammer had stolen my money from my bank account and transferred the money to a foreign bank. Remitly completed the transaction immediately without a review period where I could have time to challenge the transaction. They said their system generated approval code of which I was not being aware off. If I ever need to transfer any money, I would not be via Remitly. Too bad there is not a zero for this review.
May be a good company to do money transfer. Their attitude is what I do not like. Every time they ask to verify your identity and they want to go through your banking statement expect me to explain reason for certain transaction. This is too much" REMITLY".
Transferred an initial amount to Colombia and then the problems started. Received confirmation of a transaction that was subsequently cancelled. Calls to Customer Service are pointless and they say read the user Agreement, we can do what we like.
