I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe. The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case. After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number. No support what so ever but we will keep pushing. After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
Terrible service from a money transfer company who promise the world and deliver a barren atoll. Subject to fraudulent scammers their systems are suspect and compromised. Don't ever ever use, bad follow up bad customer service. Just an absolute disaster to deal with.

I tried to use Remitly to send some money home. I opened an account and gave all the information required. 20 mins later they call me, they need more info and my bank statement. I provided that. 4 hours later my transfer is cancelled, my account suspended and no reason given at all. Only that I violated their User Agreement. I look at that and could not find why or what I did. I called them and they cannot give me a reason, only offer to appeal, without any assurances of success and they will call me.
As a law abiding person, this is very upsetting.

Their employees do not explain their policies very well. When I first called them, I asked specifically if there was any issue with sending money to someone if I can get a refund. They told me yes that's possible. But once the issue arise when the person I send money to did not send me my product, I asked him the same thing and he told me a different story. It's very frustrating. In fact if you're sending money overseas to a company using this payment method, you risk so much. You're better off using something like Pay Pal when you can easily request your money back if there's an issue. For some reason with them it's so difficult. I'm so angry right now.

If you’re buying a product from a supplier or vendor do not use this just in case you run into issues with the supplier is not able to provide your product on time. Remitly makes it very difficult to ask for a refund.

Remitely will allow you to open the account. Take the funds of the transfer and then cancel your account without explanation of how to retrieve the funds you just entered.
Total RIP-OFF. STAY AWAY! Money will be lost.

Very bad transfer. Cancel my transactions twice with the legitimate bank account ATM card without any reason, except to say "there is suspicious transactions" The customer service stinks, people at the other end in India do not know how to solve any problems

If I could give 0 I would. Worst company I used. I sent money to a family member who was at the hospital on Friday with express option (10 minutes to deliver the money). We are Monday and the money still not sent to the person. I called Remitly 7 times, talked to their supervisor who promised that my money will be send In 2 hours, after it went to 24 hours, 4 hours more as promised. We are now Monday and they refused to cancel the transaction even they cannot deliver your money. DOT NOT USE THEM, time consuming, energy.
I have been so patient and polite. Now I will dispute the transaction through my bank. Hopefully I get money back. Be careful with those scammer.

When I tried to log in, I noticed my acct was suspended for 'suspicious activity'. And they only have an idiot bot to chat (no humans)... not much help. Western Union is a much better choice.

They charged more for immediate transfer and deposit, but that doesn't happen, plus customer service is horrible, please don't use this service, i never had problems with Xoom, made a mistake using Remitly, never again

These people practice bait and switch. They say you are locked into an exchange rate, but when it comes time to pay it's a different story. They also change rates in midstream, and the process is lengthy and aggravating.

Remitly promises fast delivery, which actually doesn't happen. Sending money is taking 4 days now when it originally said within one hour, and it still says in progress, with no further updates on even an expected delivery date. I have contacted customer service 2 times and they promise to help or provide updates, which doesn't happen either. Don't use Remitly if you want to avoid headaches as they are not serious.

Family can't get money Remitly have no idea whats holding up the transfer... and we talking couple of thousands AUD$... NEVER again. Try it and its useless. Seems going back to Western Union... and to be totally honest. WU has just as good rates.!

Very similar bad experience to the other recent reviewers. We made our first transfer 3 months ago without problems. We tried to make a second transfer 2 days ago and it's been a nightmare. First two attempts with credit card were cancelled without explanation, third attempt from bank account went through but then they kept asking for ID documents (which we sent them) and to call a number. The number was constantly engaged for 24 hours so we tried to access them via the chat. We got into the phone queue, waited there for an hour and a half and were then told that our payment reason was invalid so they were going to cancel the account. I just made the transfer with TransferWise without problem and it was cheaper and better rates than Remitly. Don't use Remitly, their customer service is really bad.

Yes they review your account you send them all the information they ask then delay transfer 2 to 4 hours. Is based in Philippines so at times hard to understand and they refer you to their compliance person who reads from a script. No real answers

Remit at one time gave discounts for transfers to people suffering from storms in the Phillipines. It did not specify that people receiving assistance had to be a family member. They allowed all transfers which seem to go against their agreement that only family members could be rewarded. Remit support has no answers and do not have knowledge to inform anyone why an account is suspended and pass the buck. My advice to users switch to PayPal which transfers fees are less.

That their support staff are as clueless as to what actions are taken and why. Their response is always “Read the agreement!” Worthless in giving answers or assistance.
