I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe. The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case. After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number. No support what so ever but we will keep pushing. After calling and mailing them and waiting 1,5weeks we got the money back!
Terrible service from a money transfer company who promise the world and deliver a barren atoll. Subject to fraudulent scammers their systems are suspect and compromised. Don't ever ever use, bad follow up bad customer service. Just an absolute disaster to deal with.
Disgusting company. Withdraws money but doesn't deliver it. Every time you contact them they lie that it will be resolved but it won't be. Won't connect to a supervisor. Barely speak English. Disgusting attitude. I'll be contacting my bank to dispute the charge! Stay away from these idiots.

No email support, no chat service and there is no other way to track your money. It will show you your money has been sent and will be given a fancy receipt number which is just a camouflage. It is obvious that an app/service allows you only to send but when it comes to tracking progress or you need to talk to them, they are well beyond your reach. What does that mean?
If the money receiver's details are wrong the amount bounces back, but how do you know if you are not allowed to communicate?

Incredibly slow. And the customer service which I contact almost every month doesn't seem to understand anything. I deposit my money within the hour but it takes very long to reflect on their account. So it ends up getting canceled. Then their customer service just really s*cks. I have been a remitly customer for nearly 3 years. This is my last straw. I'm so happy transferwise finally added the bank that i send to back home. They're faster and have better exchange rates. I'm deleting remitly forever as soon as I get my refund.
To remitly: please train your staff well with the most basic issues. Don't just teach them to apologise. It's so annoying

After numerous logistic problems years ago trying to setup (and I mean glitches mail, sending passport copy, still incompetent company)... seemed finally got to use. So, I continued. I been using their service for three years now. Every month. The, just yesterday, said account closed. I contacted. Best I can figure was, if you use the "free fee'" service (which isn't. Compare what you send vs. another service. Will be lower even with same exchange rate). But guess wasn't paying enough Fee services. So... they will drop your account, no reason, even if been using for couple of years. Just drop it one day (and when need to send to a family).

That they change policy to get you to pay more later. Intentional/unintentional negligence.

Absolutely obnoxious conversation with so-called Customer Service after waiting on hold several minutes to respond to their request for more information. The questions were intrusive -- why am I sending the money, what is my relationship with the recipient, how long have I known him, etc. When I reached the point where I declined to provide any more information, the agent canceled the transaction "at my request" since I didn't want to describe the relationship. I was trying to help a friend in Nepal who has been unable to work throughout the Covid epidemic because his job relies on tourism. No company has the right to ask such personal questions. I will never patronize them.
Tip for consumers:
Use a different service to send funds unless you'd like to donate several minutes of your time answering personal questions posed by someone gathering marketing information.

I'm a remitly customer for over 2 years. They unceremoniously cancelled my account with no other information. Their privacy issues abound from asking for bank statements (which I had to anonymize myself), to their staff not knowing what they're doing in regards to financial transactions. I've also encountered rude staff. I mainly used them because of the rates - the speed and ease I could do business, and that I generally didn't have to interact with anyone. But nevermind putting up with them - they'll 'audit' your transactions and question you about them. The second audit, was the last one - they closed my account with no explanation - this is after spending thousands in fees to them over the years - sending to actual bank accounts.

Why the hell do they need recipient's ID?
Then I asked them to cancel my transfer. Well then I was told I would have my money within the day and now they're saying I need to contact my bank and ask them to process it lol what?

During this pandemic, we tried to help many people in the Philippines by sending money for their food. Remitly canceled our account saying there is a suspicious activity, despite us providing all documents they need for the source of fund. We asked to speak to someone in corporate and the representative said they will have them call us. Guess what? No one called. I will keep writing reviews in all possible sites until I receive a call from their corporate office who seems to be hiding and avoiding direct contact to customers.

I made a money transfer that took more than 5 days to complete, then I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and tried again and it turned out that it took another 4 days and nothing to complete the transfer, Be very careful with this company if you need to send money with urgency to someone outside the USA, Remitly is not at all reliable in completing transfers on time and the excuses are even worse than the poor service they offer their clients, SHAME ON THEM

They took money out of my bank and suddenly closed my account saying there is suspicious activity. I tried to contact the customer service and it takes long time to reach them so I contacted using live chat and they just keep repeating same answers like a robot. Now I am very scared that I might not get my money back that they took out from my bank account.

"WORST COMPANY" 05/25/2020
My initial experience was good but as soon as I got confident I started to send out money for our business lawyer.
$2999, $2999. As soon as we complete the 1st transaction we got our receipt, then the 2nd one. 11 days later they keep up asking for more papers to submit. Passport, ID, reason to send money, bank statements, pay stub. These people are a complete scam! Be warned! Don't use them. There is no cancellation button and no one to talk to.

I attempted to send money to my niece for her birthday. They want to know everything about both sender and receiver. After a lengthy on line application I had to call the company, where I was interrogated by a person with a very thick foreign accent, who wanted every last detail about who I was sending to, why, did I plan to send more, how many times I have sent, how long I knew this person, then that still wasn't enough. He actually wanted me to send a copy of my bank statement.

I have a verified account Tier 3. Transferred USD 2000 to my India account - they asked me to upload documents and call them again for verification. Obviously it is a technique to hold onto funds for longer time. Fraudulent company could not tell that they needed verification before submitting transfer request.

Do not do business with remitly unless you want to be frustrated. They locked my account almost immediately after opening it for no reason. Customer service is TERRIBLE. They will not help you, will not explain anything to you, and are rude. Please save yourself the grief and take your business elsewhere.

I signed up with this company to have a transfer done on March 30, one week later and the money is no where to be cashed or even found. They charge you premium fees to transfer and they will stall you with all sorts of stupid justifications that their customer service isntrained to tell. One of the worst companies I dealt with. Trying to get your transfer cancelled and your money back is like pulling teeth with these clowns. They should be banned from doing business and fined. I am suing them for waste of my time and my recipient's time.

I sent 3 transactions in a matter of three days but the company did poorly by all standard. They were easily withdrew money from my account, in minutes in fact, but took days to reach to reach to recepient. Their handling of business during covid19 was a disaster, no phone, no email, only chat (average wait was 2 hr) Pathetic response and no back up whatsoever.

Don't use this service to transfer money unless you are willing to wait for quite awhile. They want to verify the source of who is sending the money which is fine, but not in the time they tell you it will occur. I verified my identity and was told 1-2 hours for review. Here we are 8 hours later and the party I sent the money to is still waiting for it. Luckily, not an emergency, but next time I will use PayPal.

I have been using Remitly for 3 years. Out of the blue my account was locked. They said supious activity. I thought maybe someone tried to hack the account. No they said I was violating their rules. They would.not say how. All k ever do is Sen money to family. The customer support person hung up on me. There is no recourse. They just shut up down and flip you the middle finger.

Have been using Remitly for a couple of years now. Sending money to Philippines. Money transfers have been quick and without complication.
My gripe with Remitly is that they think they have the right to request months of bank statements. When you question them they state it is in their terms and conditions which you agreed to. And that it is their policy (as if their policies cannot be questioned by a mere customer). If you don't provide the statements they will suspend your account. A letter from the bank validating me as the account holder is not good enough - they want to examine all of my personal transactions...
I have my policies too Remitly and they are inconsistent with yours

Basically they implied that I am using it to pay for prostitution when I called to ask them why. Apparently sending a little money to struggling musicians in other countries that I know through actually playing the genre of Latin music that I am fond of and know by way of attending the academies there is a big no no. By the way gifting people in a pandemic is suspicious behavior. They said I can't even appeal. Like if I was in that country soliciting wouldn't I just give these people cash. Way to go Remitly!
