I used carla to rent a ca however I ended up not getting my rental due to close branch. They closed early so didn't get my car. But carla clean the mess of supplier and refunded my amount and gave me 50 usd credits for free. I get very pleasant experience so far. I will use my credits in future
I tried to rent a car through them. I showed up at the rental company at the airport They refused my voucher. I then had to figure out a way to get my daughter and I to my mom's house. She was in hospice care. Because I didn't honor my first voucher I was supposed to pick up a second rental in 3 days. I decided to cancel it Well beyond the 48 hour notice needed. They refuse to refund my money. Since they used Affirm, They had already been paid so they had no incentive to satisfy this customer. I never received a rental from them and I am still being chased by collection agency for $800. I tried to appeal through their non-existent customer service multiple times They kept closing my case because they said it had been a month since it had been opened and it had done nothing. I reopened diligently for almost a year. I escalated. No response.
The request was canceled in minutes and they refuse to give me a refund. I have been reaching since October to get this situation fixed. All I get is someone emailing that I got Carla cash that can be used any time. I never got Carla Cash. I don't want Carla Cash I want a refund. I think it's sad that my money was basically stolen and there's is no one to talk too.
If i could rate this in the negitives i would. I tried to rent a car through here and i placed the exact amount of money on my card. When i clicked book my account declined it due to scam activites and when i went into the app to accept and approve of the charge it turns out it declined because they tried to charge me 4 TIMES for the same amount. Thank HOD i dont put more then i need to in my card cause i would have lost about $1400. When i tried the customer service they pulled some crap saying when it declined they automatically tried again but thats not what my bank says. They pulled the same amount 4 times at the same time!
I spent my last on a rental through these guys and the company didn't accept Chime and couldn't give me a refund because I made the purchase thru an third party. I stressed this to Carla, they ask me to wait 10 business days. Almost a month passed and still no one has got back in touch with me. I explain to them that I put my last on the rental and was supposed to make it up doing Doordash. I told them that i have kids n it was an emergency and that didn't matter at all to them. They offered credits but We can't eat nothing with that so I declined. I wouldn't recommend using this app at all. Horrible customer service. Str8 Scam

They sent me a message and state that anythime i can cancel reservation with full refund if i paid 29€.
I paid this amount and later i cancelled the reservation.

Let me just say. I should have trusted the reviews. Not only did it take them almost a month tk get back to me about my refund then they proceeded to tell me that I was rejected from getting my refund. Even though I never even actually picked up the reserved vehicle. Not to mention the fact that I was told per the actual car rental place that I'd be getting a refund back. Need less to they hook people in with their low prices but buyers beware because it's just a way to scam you out of your hard earned money. Customer service is an even bigger joke simply for the fact that they Make it such a drawn out process to even get the refund by telling you you'll get a response in ten days. Then they don't even bother to follow their own terms and conditions by responding back to me in those ten days. I have to reach back out to them through email in order to get my rejected response. Yet they want to stress to me about terms and conditions yet you don't even follow them yourselves. Poor customer service. Worse communication. Overall horrible experience. Steer clear if you value your money.

Went to pick up my car at the scheduled reservation time at the airport. They said they could see my reservation but since it was booked at 5pm the night before and it wasn't 24 hrs after booking which is the airport car rentals rules they wouldn't honor the reservation and carla would not refund me.

After being told that I was eligible through their company even with poor credit to rent a vehicle,I pre-paid. Got to my out of state location and was denied and none of my money was returned. The customer service rep exclaimed to me we have over 150 rental car dealers,and reassured me that they could help. Nothing but 470$ down the DAMN drain. I HATE THESE PEOPLE WITH A PASSION.
Found Carla on Affirm app and I figured I'd give it a try considering they are on a site I trust. Well I was wrong! I reserved what I thought was a great deal, arrived at airport and told customer agent I had a reservation through Carla. Things did not seem right from the start, as she didn't even acknowledge the company. She said I was entitled to a free upgrade and asked about paying ahead for the fuel. I acknowledged since the rate she offered was cheaper even with fuel. This was for a 2 week rental. I was surprised to see the entire rental charged to my card. I assumed I would only pay a deposit at the counter and settle up with Carla at the end for actual pricing plus commission. This is not how it works folks. Thrifty charged me $375 for rental, apart for what Carla was charging me. I found this out when I called Thrifty to ask about the charges on my credit card. I was assuming deposit which would come off, but it was actually for upgrade price, taxes, and agreed upon fuel. Although I was able to get most money back for the "free upgrade", I was still out over $40 for taxes and fees that should have been included or accounted for through Carla pricing. It isn't, and now I have to pay Carla $618, when I paid $375 at rental agency. There is no value in that folks. I see the poor ratings on here and I completely understand why they are so bad. Don't trust this site! Probably best for you to rent at the airport, as you'll find better deals there.

If it were possible to give negative stars, that is how I would rate this company. They are a scam and have nothing but negative reviews. I did not take the time to research them as I should have before getting myself involved with them. I thought since they worked with Affirm, they were a reputable company like Amazon. Turned out they are nowhere near. I needed to get a rental car for a weekend out of town trip, so I found Carla's car rental online and saw that they accepted Affirm pay later plan. However, I had to cancel my plans due to a needed medical procedure and contacted Carla's car rental. There is no phone number so I sent an email to them. After going round and round with them and the website not cooperating, I was finally able to cancel the reservation on the app, after repeated inquiries to be contacted via phone as I needed to speak to someone in person. To sum it up, the cancellation was done in a timely manner (days after the reservation was made). These scammers charged me 50% cancellation fee BUT only wanted me to receive the other 50% in what they call the "Carla Bucks" or credit to use towards them in the future. I would not use this company if they were the only ones on earth. Read all the other reviews from their unsatisfied customers. They are a joke and I would not do business with them EVER! I had to learn my lesson the hard way, but I hope this will help the next person considering to use this company. DON'T DO IT.

I paid $136 deposit and when I went to pick up the car, I was informed of an LA Local policy (this was never disclosed during my reservation on Carla) where I would be required to make an additional $1k deposit and I could not drive out of the state. Since these were not disclosed at the time of reservation, I was not prepared to make such a high deposit, and I needed to drive the car out of state - that was the whole basis of renting the car. I was also told I needed to provide my full personal insurance policy, which was not disclosed in their "documents required" section.
As none of these terms were made clear, I was not able to pick up the car and fulfill the reservation. This is 100% the fault of Carla for not providing the customer with the accurate terms of the rental.
They have refused to refund me the deposit, and have been dismissive in their communications. I will never use their services again and I urge any who are considering it to book with another company who will be responsible for proper disclosure of terms and customer service.
They make it seem like the price of rentals are great up to the part where you have to pay part of the cost(say $60), then the balance(say $60) at the desk are stated clearly. So up to this point the debited $60 plus $19 for some other charge, summing up to about $139. Only after the debit or credit card payment is done a little app chat assistant indicates what you need to pick up vehicle. Its only then they tell you about $500 deposit and if you cancel because you don't have it as it was never mentioned at the beginning they don't refund you your money. Instead of refunding you your hard earn money back the send it to the CARLA CASH app as indicated in the photo below. The photo i uploaded shows my money ($86.52) but I can only use it on to rent from Carla rental only which would require a deposit. They refused to refund me my cash up to now. In comparison the Turo app is similar to this Carla app, but the difference is you require no deposit, so if Turo show you the price as $139 upon card payment, that's all you got to pay. Next day just pick up ur car, no form filling or other hidden payments.

We rented a vehicle in Tampa FL through Carla. We received a quote for the rental and confirmed. We paid the deposit. The following day, another charge was made by Carla that we did not authorize. We contacted the rental car company directly. They confirmed that they received our rental confirmation but had not received any money from Carla. They confirmed the same total STILL BEING DUE, even though Carla had now charged us over $220! We immediately tried to cancel. Keep in mind, you cannot call Carla. Email only and wait 3 days or more for a response. The options to cancel are to get a full refund in CREDIT for another rental or get "1/2" of your money back. In our case, half of $224 was $84! How is that half?! We have been emailing for a month and keep getting the run around. We have not received our money back! They legitimately are scamming people, stealing your money, not sending the money to the rental company and then are refusing to repay it. They need to be held accountable and reported in every way. I wish I had read reviews prior to dealing with them. I will continue to report them until they're out of business. Run! Do not give them your money!

I rented in miami for $27 for day. I changed time 3 times and I had no issues. Customer team was helpful and drop-off was smooth. Definitely will use again when needed.

2 weeks ago i used the carla app to rent a car for a trip they confirmed everything with me and the company i was renting the car from everything was confirmed i was supposed to pick the car up at 6pm i get there at 5:35 and the gate is closed but unlocked so i went in the gate and they were already closed after confirming my 6pm pick up so i get in contact with carla they have made me wait 2 weeks to find out im not even getting a refund for THEIR MESS UP this app is a joke first time ever using it and they messed up but want to offer me carla cash but cant even offer me my $$ back what kind of joke is that
I booked a rental through Carla Car Rental. On the day for my pick at AVIS Car Rental they could not find the booking information with the confirmation code they provided me to show at the counter. This resulted for me to make a new reservation at AVIS for a new booking, I had to pay tons of money to get a rental that day. I contacted Carla for a refund despite adding the "Peace of Mind" that promised me to get my money back they did not do so. They will take your money and act dumb later so PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT BOOK WITH CARLA! I had to credit dispute this charge and that was the only way to get my money back after I provided tons of evidence to support my claim.

I rented a car through Carla Car Rental yesterday 6/13/23. I found out it was through Budget. They sent me all the information including a voucher I was supposed to use at the counter. When I wasted time, energy, effort, and gas to get to Budget. I was immediately stopped from moving forward at the counter because I was renting with my debit card. Airport policy is to rent with a credit card. I explained this to Alex the chat bot they have at the Carla zen desk to answer emails. I asked for a refund for the money they debited. He told me they sent me a voucher that's all he constantly says. I can't speak to a chat bot energy. I need a human with thought process, character, and integrity who understands not to steal from customers. Carla rental car knows I couldn't rent the car, so refund my monies for services not rendered. Don't rent from these rip off companies like Carla rental car. They will rob you of your money knowing they're wrong and owe you your money back. These less than piss-poor business practices has to cease.

I rented a car for pick up at 1am in the morning. Carla closed early at 8pm and the car rental was thrifty at 1am witch I had no clue that thrifty closes at 1am. Why would they let me rent a car at the time of closing. Then my flight was delayed so I couldn't get my car. I called thrifty and Carla as soon as I found out my flight was delayed. Got ahold of thrifty but still up to this day I can't get ahold of carla customer service only messages. They refuse to give me a refund even though that it wasn't my fault. I will never ever rent from them again. I've never had a problem renting a car. Company like those need to let people know there hours of operation or find a way to let people know what time the rental company closes. Like this was the worst service I've ever had. I booked a Grand Jeep Cherokee through Carla and paid $182 in full,. When I landed in West Palm Beach I was told it would be a 2 hour wait (my car was reserved for 11am and I got there at 11:15am), I was here for a baby shower and could not wait so I rented a car from another company and have been calling and emailing Carla Customer Service for 4 days and no one responds.
