“Up to 50% off on a meal, once a month per restaurant. Read the rules.”

So you see all these bad reviews of Restaurant.com. I took advantage of a great deal. 100 - $50 cards for $500 from Citi Easy Deals. That $4500 of free food Just avoid these assumptions: 1) It's not off any restaurant. Get a Visa Gift Card if you want that. Enjoy your fees. 2) It's not a free meal. It's up to half off the total bill. You can use the remainder elsewhere. 3) It's one use per restaurant per month. Not getting 1/2 price sushi every weekend. Goto a different restaurant tomorrow. 4) You have to log into the app to find the card to redeem. Yes it shows your name. Got to log in anyway. That bugs me! Lose one Star. 5) Let the server tap the screen to redeem. You will hit one of these the first time through. After that it's discount city. Got my food budget in line through some hard times.

“A scam”

richard t.

The entire experience was a scam in conjunction with a travel service. Was promised $100 in Restaurant coupons for attending sales presentation. Spent hours on the phone, with email, and online trying to obtain four $25 restaurant certificates. Never received any certificates and gave up.

Tried it few years ago, just like other said "Don't waste your money". There are not many restaurants accept that coupon. I tried one accepted the coupon, but they charged me a price higher than the regular menu price, at the end I only enjoyed about 20% discount on the bill. Want to say that if the restaurants participate to that program they should accept the restaurant.com coupon as a money. Not a gimmicky to get you go to that restaurants but not willing to accept the coupon.

I see most of the bad reviews are from people who don't understand the concept. You DO NOT get to spend $5 on a $10 off coupon and then only spend $10, it doubles. Today I used a FREE $10 voucher and got a $10 off $20 coupon. Our meal came to $24 something so the bill came to $14 with tip it cost $20 total, Otherwise with tip it would have cost us $30, so we saved $10. Easy!

I have used Restaurant.com for a few years now and I have 'never' had a problem redeeming their certificates! A lot of the negative reviews listed on this site I believe, falls on the restaurant being visited and not on restaurant.com. How RC be held responsible for restaurants pulling out of the program or making up changes to how or when they will accept the certs? Some of the other complaints seem to be about RC not making updates quick enough, yet it's hard to tell who is telling the truth. As someone else suggested, call the restaurant to verify they accept the certs before buying them. If you still have a problem log back into RC and redeem them for another participating restaurant. I just did that today for certs I originally purchased back in 2010 with no problem. I think it is a great program for us consumers. I don't know how it works for restaurants.

Very deceiving, If it is your first time. You will feel frustrated also. Gift certificate of $100.00 you will pay only $40.00 and you need to purchase a minimum of $100.00 So I went to the restaurant and purchase a minimum of $100.00, I was surprised with my bill of $56.00, the cashier told me that I'm not the only one complained about this. The website is not very clear with their promotion. What I paid from restaurant.com, $40.00 is only to avail for a discount from the restaurant which is 50%. Instead of saving money, I ended up spending more $100.00 for 3 people.;(

I bought a few certs from this website, but each time I tried to log into the website, I was told "there have been too many failed login attempts. Please wait and try again later." I'd get this message even trying to sign in for the first time each day.

I paid $10 for a $25 retaurant.com retaurant certificate. I placed the order by phone and when I went to pick up the food and wanted to use the certificate I was told you have to dine in and order at least $50. I did not have time to read the seven page small print and the ordering online was so easy. What seems too good to be true, is most likely a scam like this one. I will never order another restaurant.com certificate. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I bought a gift certificate and my head was literally spinning from all the restrictions they have. Different restrictions for different restaurants with must spend $x or must buy X to get the deal. I was not very impressed and used $20 worth of my $100 certificate.

I just purchased dinning certificates and it did not show clearly in the restaurant restriction that cannot be use in the same visit but hiding in other place. Try to solve the issue calling them but they did not want to give me a refund; not like Groupon that you can cancel the transaction within a few minutes. Called up my credit card to dispute it.

Never signed up for this! Started getting coupons coming in?
Called them, put on hold for 20 minutes. Told them to take me off their phony website!
They wanted me to Join! #$@&*#*@* I honored their phony gift cert. $10 off on a $20 purchase! I've been in biz for 30 years. If I keep getting these things I'll be OUT OF BIZ in less then a year!

I found the restaurant we went to very resentful and unhappy when we produced the coupon. The Stockton Inn in Stockton NJ was supposed to be an awesome experience and the staff treated us like criminals when we produced a coupon to get a discount on dinner. After alerting the management they didn't do a blessed thing to try to make things right. It used to be a place we visited weekly and dropped $100 bucks on dinner and drinks on average. Never going back.

Beware do not use Restaurant.com, there is fine print after purchase. They did not respond to my requests at all. Fine print includes can use only one certificate per month per order etc. None of this info is given to you before purchase. If you try to get a refund or anything the will not responde. BAD Business!

This was called a $50 gift card mailed to me for a good restaurant meal just because I made an appointment for a salesman to come to my home to sell me a walk in tub from K Designs in Minneapolis Mn. Card never arrived so I called K Designs of course thinking this was a scam! Card finally came but it's a coupon actually limited to certain eateries. What? Really? Whole thing is kind of schemey. I was misled and K Designs didn't get my business anyway. Not nice to fool me!

My mom used her Verizon Up points for a free voucher for $25 of a $50 order at a local restaurant. Little did she know, the restaurant hadn't accepted the coupon/voucher for over two years, and they had called reps for the company about it many times! This company is a fraud and they continue to rip off all of us unknowing customers.

I bought $200 worth over 7 years ago and cannot use them and they will not refund your money no matter how long ago you bought them. The restaurants that participate are far and few between and most that do are sub par. Customer service is terrible, they will not read your email they will only auto reply.

Very misleading advertising. Thought I could use multiple gift cards at time. Checked website and there was no mention of restrictions. After buying gift cards, THEN I was told I could only use 1 at a time per month. Called customer service and they would not refund the money.

I purchased a coupon for Mexican food in my city and when I went to the restaurant there was a sign on the door stating they no longer accept Restaurant.com coupons. I contacted Restaurant.com on their email link twice and I'm still waiting... this was a rip-off for me.

Tip for consumers:
FORGET IT! THEY'LL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!

Real good savings if you can actually redeem. The issue is that a lot of the coupons go expired quickly and sometimes the restaurants won't take them during peak hours. You need to ask them prior to arriving if they accept. If you can use the coupon, then use this all the time because the savings are amazing.

I could not use all the money on my gift card because the restaurant required a minimum purchase and it would not allow me to make a purchase for more than "4" in the drop down box. If you use this be sure to use it all at one place. Because if you don't they get to keep your money,

When I first started using them years ago, they were worth it. But not anymore. For the most part, they only get brand new businesses that are desperate to make it, but then don't, so if you get a certificate, use it fast. They will exchange it for another restaurant, but it's just not that good of a selection. On top of that, they make you spend $20 in order to use a $10 certificate, $30 for a $15 and $50 for a $25. And if they'd hire real employees to sell it to new restaurants, they might do a better job. In order to sell them to new restaurants, you have to pay almost $300, or up to almost $1100. It's gone way downhill in the last few years.

Definitely the worst purchase I made all year. I will swear in court to a judge that they are thief's who stole my money. They say a server problem lost my data but they have every detail including my user name and password. The only data they lost was the money placed in my account. The time I did use it the restaurant raised the price after I presented the coupon so adding what I paid Resaurant.com it cost me more.

I finally got a reply from their customer service and now they tell me that they don't save funds in your account. I was told you have to spend it while you are logged in because when you log out POOF! Gone! The fact is it's rigged every way possible for you to loose. Before you spend a dime talk to the restaurant first. They will probably give you a better deal so they don't have to file a claim and get jacked around for their money.

Well since I work for this company I was a little shocked at some of the reviews. When you purchase a $25.00 certificate yes there is a minimum purchase required. See the example:

25.00 minimum purchase is usually 35.00
So the actual dinner cost is $10.00 so far
Add the 18% tip of $6.30
So that would be a total so far of $16.30 on the $35.00 bill you are saving quite a bit of money. So think and do the math.

Bad experience! Never ever buy again! When you buy certificate, there's no restrictions until you bought it and listed minimum amount must be used. Really? That really shocked me! If you buy $10 certificate for $5, you have to spend minimum $20! Technically you save only $5 on $20! I bought $50 certificate for $20! Minimum use $75! Not worth it! We have only 3 people in the family! Can't use that much at one time! Some restaurants not valid buffet or happy hours! Be careful when you use! You might have to order a whole lot!
