So you see all these bad reviews of Restaurant.com. I took advantage of a great deal. 100 - $50 cards for $500 from Citi Easy Deals. That $4500 of free food Just avoid these assumptions: 1) It's not off any restaurant. Get a Visa Gift Card if you want that. Enjoy your fees. 2) It's not a free meal. It's up to half off the total bill. You can use the remainder elsewhere. 3) It's one use per restaurant per month. Not getting 1/2 price sushi every weekend. Goto a different restaurant tomorrow. 4) You have to log into the app to find the card to redeem. Yes it shows your name. Got to log in anyway. That bugs me! Lose one Star. 5) Let the server tap the screen to redeem. You will hit one of these the first time through. After that it's discount city. Got my food budget in line through some hard times.
The entire experience was a scam in conjunction with a travel service. Was promised $100 in Restaurant coupons for attending sales presentation. Spent hours on the phone, with email, and online trying to obtain four $25 restaurant certificates. Never received any certificates and gave up.
I have used this location for years. Tonight I had a $32 order: a pizza and cinnamon sticks.
I ordered a Bold Fold with regular pepperoni instead of the spicy and I wanted extra icing for the cinnamon sticks. I received a Big Fold with no pepperoni and did not get the extra icing. I called and all the Manager wanted to do was give me a $7 credit for my $32 order. After all the money I have spent with them and all he wants to give me is a $7 credit! Never again will I order from them again. They can keep their credit and lose my business. The manager was very rude.
This site is selling coupons to a local restaurant. I purchased on 2/29. On 3/2 I enter the restaurant, ask for my favorite table, the waiter leads me back, I lay the certificate on the table and am told by the server they are not honoring the certificates because Restaurant.com does not pay them for the certificates like they are supposed to and the little restaurant is not making money.
I love our little restaurant, I am not angry at them. So I called the other 2 little restaurants featured on restaurant.com for our area. Guess what? The same thing is happening to them, AND they have requested to be removed from the restaurant.com website and they will not take them off. I have suggested a class action suit and media attention.
I had a problem of Staropolska restaurant not accepting coupon purchased from restaurant.com.
After a few days I finally received support from restaurant.com.
I hope that Staropolska coupon won't be posted again.
I'm going to use restaurant.com again, hopefully Staropolska was simply a bad luck.
Purchased a deal to a restaurant I wanted to try. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I told my server I had a coupon. IMMEDIATELY he asked if I had purchased it from Restaurant.com and apologized for the site's misleading advertisement. He told me they would not be able to accept the coupon and that the manager had decided to pull all coupons for the restaurant off of the web because they have had so many people complain about it. I will NOT use Restaurant again. Period.
I tried using their coupon and it was hard to navigate and cash in the coupon. The restaurant called the Dam in Broadbrook Connecticut worked with me and we were able to cash it in later on that day. But it was a pain to do on both of use through the website. It's not as easy as it looks.
I don't know how I let my self get scammed like this I was so excited to get the discount I never checked the reviews, which is something I do faithfully on any and everything... Thanks alot restaurant.com you got over on me this time!
I purchased a Restaurant.com certificate for O'maddi's Deli and Cafe in Northfield, VT.
When I presented the restaurant.com certificate for O'maddi's Deli and Cafe in Northfield, VT to the cashier she informed me they no longer accept these!
She said the reason was because too many people have used and re-used these certificates.
She never offered to make it right.
I purchased 4 10Dollar Coupons and I wanted to exchange and but once I clicked on the Exhange button the coupon is puffed off... Its lost no return of money or anything
So pissed of of this website... Total scam and do not use this.
I bought this from Groupon, and become useless... Total loss
Scam. Someone need to to report them to BBB and we need to file class action against them. There were nothing that said 1 gift certificate per party per month until after you purchase and printed out. Not only you have to spend money to buy the coupon you have to use at least $35 to get your coupon to save you a couple of bucks. It's not saving it's a scheme to make you spend money you don't have. I'm sure restaurant owners are super upset about restaurant.com as well. The only winner is restaurant.com.
I'd used them in the past, and was happy. I bought several of them before I got laid off a while ago, and haven't been dining out for a while. Last week we decided to use one to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Checked on the web site to make sure it was still valid. After a great meal, the restaurant said it wasn't valid any more.
After I got home, I went to their site, filled in the complaint form, and got no response after an entire week. So today I called their 800 number, and all they would do is replace their worthless piece of paper with another worthless piece of paper.
As of this AM, it still shows on their site as valid. Restaurant.com refused to make good on the extrs $25 I spent on dinner because they didn't cancel the coupon off their site.
The won't get any more of my business.
BTW, just talked with the restaurant owner, and she said restaurant.com was terrible to deal with, and offered to make good on their screwup.
I bought four gifts cards and was excited to use them! But three of the four places would not accept them. One said I could only use it for dinner not for lunch, but it didn´t say that ANYWHERE on the site. Another one said the restaurant had a new owner and wasn´t accepting them anymore and the third place said they never gave restaurant.com permission to even sell them, and offered a free appetizer in return. So I basically just wasted my money. It is a SCAM. Will never, ever use them again and I hope enough people give them bad reviews so they go out of business. They are not only scamming consumers, but harming businesses who do not give them permission to even sell things in their name.
Bought "$40 for a $400 Hotel and Resort eGift Card Featuring Hilton Hotels World Wide" from specials.restaurant.com.
When I tried using this gift card at hotelandresortcard.com to book my $400 hotel, they were charging for $45 from my gift card and rest all i have to pay from my credit card. It was feeling like being fooled and send email to restaurant.com to take gift card back and return my money.
They said they cant give my money back instead they give another gift card.
Big scam run by Special.restaurant.com and hotelandresortcard.com, I lost my $40.
Tip for consumers:
Read offer details, terms and condition, e.t.c..
Stay away from business who are not willing to refund your money.
After you purchase the product, then they give you the guidelines.
Understand, the deals look great... bjut when you give them your credit card info, THEN they put it to you.
Run don't walk from these guys.
My husband and I rented tuxes from Jos A. Bank who was having a special that if you rented tuxes from them you would receive a $100 restaurant.com gift card. Needless to say we never got the gift card so we asked Jos A Bank who said we had to call restaurant.com to redeem. We never got the gift card. Both businesses were extremely unprofessional during our experiences. We do not recommend either.
I bought vouchers for closed businesses and for businesses that wouldn't even accept the vouchers. I have $35.00 in credit and they will not give cash back, even though all the restaurants in my area are not good ones and I have to spend an extravagant amount to use them. Like $75.00 at a burger joint. THESE VOUCHERS ARE NOT A DEAL! I have asked 3 times to get my money back, but they dance around that subject with another stupid reply. Do not waste your time here. GROUPON is so much better and you can get your money back.
Same bad experiences as everyone else. They claim to give you eGift "credits" for cards you bought in the past that are no longer honored by that restaurant, etc., etc., blah, blah, blah, and then if you try to redeem them? The website takes you to a disabled screen. This place IS a total scam. Don't buy ANYTHING from them. Shysters.
I received 3 $100 gift cards for this site. 3 years later I still have $250 to spend. THE WORST RESTAURANTS TO CHOSE FROM! I have yet to have a good experience at one.
They make it seem like its a great discount but it turns out to be only about 15% off regular price and you've obligated yourself to have to eat at a dive you would not have ever chosen if not for the discount. It doesn't cover tax or tip. I have had horrible service and horrible food and then they add on a mandatory 18% gratuity because your using this coupon.
BEWARE! I bought several certificates for different restaurants and found that many of them stopped using the certificates and the others raised their minimum, even though the terms were different at the time of purchase. This is a SCAM!
Was told by a co-worker of the site so I thought I'd give it a shot. Bought a $25 coupon for $2 with the understanding that 1. Had to spend a minimun of $35,2. Had to pay a 18% gratuity, 3. I had to notify the restaurant of my intent to use the coupon before ordering...
Upon my arrival at the restaurant I was immediately told that I had to spend $50 vice $35 so instead of paying $12 for a $25 coupon I had to pay $40. Tack on the 18% gratuity for below standard service and I don't think the deal is as good as advertised.
Finally, I must point out that the owner of the restaurant went out of his way to say he felt that restaurant.com wasn't upfront about what he was signing up for and that he was cancelling his contract as soon as it expired.
There is no such thing as something too good to be true and this is website is a prime example.
I bought 2 certificates here and went to the restaurant and was told they do not accept the certificates the restaurant said they have asked this company many times to pull their ad but obviously it wasn't pulled which I beleive considering I've reached out 3 times asking for a refund on selling me something that wasn't valid and they have never reached out to me once. Beware and save your money they sell items that aren't even valid.
Today, 6/19/2020 I took my family to eat at this Arby's location which locates in Frisco Texas (Store #7858). We came inside to order instead of drive thru service. One of your worker in the kitchen did not comply/practice with COVID-19 higiene requirement during preparing our sandwiches.
All of my family members saw he did not wear mask and gloves when handling roasted beef and buns!
I politely notified/ reminded him to wear gloves and he made a very unprofessional comment.
This basic higiene practice and customer service's ethical is not acceptable especially during COVID-19 prevention.
Kind of a bummer. I bought $150 in certificates for this site thinking I could redeem more than one certificate at a time. Sort of dissapointing AFTER I purchase it to find out thats not the case. I was under the impression I could have treated my family to a nice dinner out if I purchased $100 worth of coupons for a certain restraunt and come to find out you can only redeem one coupon per visit. I would only get $25 off a $100 bill. I could have searched the web more for the proper info, but they sure make it difficult to fish though and find that important information. A little misleading. I know I should have done more research but I think MANY people are mislead about how many coupons you can redeem at once at their restraunts and it needs to be more OPENLY advertised on the site. Thats just called doing good business.
NY Pizza Suprema (http://www.nypizzasuprema.com/index.html) has the most amazing pizza I've ever eaten. I've had pizza in several locations in NY, and this is EASILY the best. Their Fresh Mozzarella With Basil Pizza is perfect. I only get to NYC every 3-6 mos, and I can never get enough of it while I'm here. This trip, I've ordered 3 pies to take back to VA with me because I want to have it on hand. The crust is just thin enough and crispy. The pizza isn't too greasy, but it's nice and moist. It's cooked to perfection and you can truly taste how fresh it is. It's right across the street from Madison Square Garden, and they sell it by the slice or in whole pies. It is a MUST for anyone that comes to NYC.
Avoid this site altogether. If a restaurant goes out of business they refuse to give a refund. If a business refuses to honor a certificate they refuse to give a refund. If you find a restaurant unfavorable they refuse to give a refund. Can you say scam?
I had credit for $25 on this site. I tried to buy a $10 certificate to a restaurant and when I put it in my shopping cart it says the minimum order amount is $20. I then replace the $10 certificate with a $25 certificate in my shopping cart to cover the $20 minimum and it tells me my minimum is now $50 bucks. No matter how much you put towards a gift certificate they're going to ask that your meal cost twice as much! How is that considered a deal? Total ripoff, wouldn't recommend and will spread this information to friends and family.
