So you see all these bad reviews of Restaurant.com. I took advantage of a great deal. 100 - $50 cards for $500 from Citi Easy Deals. That $4500 of free food Just avoid these assumptions: 1) It's not off any restaurant. Get a Visa Gift Card if you want that. Enjoy your fees. 2) It's not a free meal. It's up to half off the total bill. You can use the remainder elsewhere. 3) It's one use per restaurant per month. Not getting 1/2 price sushi every weekend. Goto a different restaurant tomorrow. 4) You have to log into the app to find the card to redeem. Yes it shows your name. Got to log in anyway. That bugs me! Lose one Star. 5) Let the server tap the screen to redeem. You will hit one of these the first time through. After that it's discount city. Got my food budget in line through some hard times.
The entire experience was a scam in conjunction with a travel service. Was promised $100 in Restaurant coupons for attending sales presentation. Spent hours on the phone, with email, and online trying to obtain four $25 restaurant certificates. Never received any certificates and gave up.
I was given this from Referralcars.com as a so call payment for advertising with them. That is a whole other story. The 100.00 is usless and I will be reporting to BBB. Both companies. I guess they like bad reviews, because the customer service rep was like. "You just write that review." So, I am and as I said I will make sure to report to BBB and go further if have too.
I received a flyer from John C Bember ( Pete?) and the code was missing. Well the code that applies to them, doesn't work. He was advertising it, because he sells insurance. Dang people is it that bad. Scammers never sleep, geez!
I bought several restaurant coupons, mostly $25 for $4 coupons. I bought for 15 different restaurants. Over time the restaurants stop participating or they only accept the $10 ones. I have over $4000 worth the coupons because there's not much around my area anymore. I bought OIP pizza restaurant 2 days ago. I exchanged coupons for 30 $15 off a $22.50 purchase. The very next day, they stop participating. They were in the program less than a month. It's ok to buy a few but don't hang onto them like I did. They stop participating or they only accept smaller amount coupons. It will take me years to use up $4000 since there's not much around where I live.
Purchased coupon then the restaurant closed a few weeks later they wouldn't give the money back or use it towards another one. They ignored repeated emails for assistance. They kept the money! Losers!
Tip for consumers:
Don't ever!
This is Hazlet Pizza Pizzeria in 3041 highway 35 Hazlet new jersey/ Customer came into my pizzeria ate $58.00 worth of food and gave me a $25.00 from Restaurant.com. Said he paid for it at restaurant. Com.
I never authorized any such coupon to be offered and I fully intend to call the authorities about my company being put on a coupon site with any permission from me the owner.
I want this customer to get his 10.00 that he invested in this fradulent coupon back.
Someone from the Restaurant.com site needs to speak with me. And I mean now.
Hazlet pizzeria Hazlet. N. j.
You can never use the card since all of the restaurants have used their monthly allotment. This always happens right at the first of the month, you can try to register at 10 minutes into the new month and nothing is available. Total ripoff.
If you read the requirments clearly listed before you buy it can be a great way to save money. As an example we used one yesterday that was a $25 gift card for $2. Requirment: min. 2 people, dine-in dinner only, min. $35 total sale less alcohol, verify location will take printed gift card. Basicly you have to decide if it is a good deal for you or not.
We have been going to the Inn for many years, but recently we found that we were less than happy with the service. There is no reception room, so when guests come in they stand in the way of the busy servers (who ignor you) and you are also in the way of other people coming in... and going to the restroom. The most recent visit was very disappointing; they forgot to bring my salad, when the server came to fill the water glasses, she delivered basically warm water without any ice; the dinner of scallops was mediocre at best. The server brought our plates to the table and did not warn us that the plates were seriously hot and I actually burned my fingers touching it. We had to wait forever for the checks despite the restaurant not being that busy. We had to flag down the server (once we got her attention that is). Disappointing to say the least.
The vouchers I purchased were supposed to not expire. However, many restaurants have stopped honoring them. When I exchanged them on the restaurant.com site, I received credits; however when I tried to redeem them for vouchers to new restaurants, the credits disappeared. To add true insult to injury, they have absolutely no telephone access. The only way to get any redress is to complain on review sites such as this.
Tip for consumers:
Don't.
I went to Rising Sons in Madison on High Point Road, WI and was told by the owner that they do not want to honor the certificate that I purchased on restaurants.com. Eventually they took the certificate saying that because I already purchased they will take it this time. I believe that this certificate should not be offered if the owner does not want to honor it. I emailed restaurants.com and has never received response. I still see on the restaurants.com the same certificate for $10 to Rising Sons. It's scam to sell certificate that is not honored at the restaurant.
This site is a complete joke.
We got $200 from a auction at a charity event.
We thought we got a deal until...
We tried to "convert" gift cards to certificates.
#1. It came as a shock you have to spend 2x worth your certificate value
#2. I'm an internet guy and can navigate any site and understand tech stuff,
But it is impossible to "redeem" the gift card.
On multiple occasions we gave up since we would be late for dinner
And went to another restaurant.
#3. When you call support for help, they close at 5pm.\how convenient,
When people go out to dinner to use the cards.
#4. When you do reach thier "support" in india, theyre rude
And insulting.
Unreal
Stay away
Went in with wife and kids got the smelliest server ever, wife got propositioned, got cold bad food tweeted about it was contacted by general manager and was told no such server worked there and was never offered any compensation for the bad food or being overcharged for our appetizers or being sexually harassed in front ot our children just poor management from start to finish. I see why fridays and chili are more popular they probably dont call there customers liars
If I could give this a zero star I would. I tried to redeem a code that T-Mobile sent me and it would not work. Tried to call them and obviously couldn't get a hold of them. Just shut down the website. It's really a waste of time
Iit's all lies and trickery. They should be banned from the internet. Don't be suckered in as even a business law expert can clearly see that if they were running a business this way anywhere other than the internet, they would have been shut down and possibly under a class action lawsuit by now for intentionallyl misleading the consumer base.
I have been using restaurant.com for over a year. I spend $2. To buy $25. Gift certificates to local restaurants. These certificates never expire! My husband and I go out to a nice dinner costing $50-75. And the $25. Is taken right off the top. Sometimes the certificates even include alcohol! Last night we had 'dinner' in a lounge during their happy hour. My husband had a large(!) shrimp cocktail, hot chicken wings and 3 Coronas. I had a huge plate of chicken quesadillas (w/ all the sides), a Corona and French silk pie for dessert! The bill?: $16.00 and that included tax and 15% tip. We left a $20. Bill and went out the door fat and happy!
We've probably gone to at least 7 or 8 different restaurants and eaten like this. Sometimes we have a couple entrees and dessert. Other times, when it is included in the certificate, we have wine or beer.
Restaurant.com is a 5 star deal/website.
I wouldn't even give it one star. I purchased a coupon for a restaurant, was asked to buy more food. The dinner was $47 for my daughter and me (for chicken and rice). I will never buy from here again.
I purchased a coupon for restaurant.com. And like so many others, I can't redeem my coupon. It has been challenging navigating this site. I followed the steps as suggested but the site does not locate my certificate or keeps logging me out. Whe I am finally able to get somewhere, the message I get is there are no certificates found. This website has a lot of glitches and not very user friendly. Also there is no phone nunber where you can call to have sonemone assit you with the problem. I would like to redeem my coupon; I paid good money for it. Shame on you for not offering assistance.
Scam I received gift card for $25when I entered only gave $15 certificate when I tried to redeem resturant required minimum of $30dollars and could only use one per visit. Total scam. Do not waste your money
I went to the Blackjack pizza located in ( 4850 Chambers Road Denver, CO *******) in order to redeem my Gift Certificate, but the employee there said that they're no longer accepting the Gift Certificate from Restaurant.com.
I came back home with empty hands and with bad experience.
Their website promised 100% customer satisfaction. WRONG! The restaurant's you call seem frustrated when they find out you have a coupon from restaurant.com. They don't have my favorite restaurant's listed as they promised. The customer service is horrible, plus they do not offer REFUNDS. So if you are a single parent trying to feed a family of four, AVOID RESTAURANT.COM.
With family and holidays, I thought I'd try to make dining out less stressful with discount coupons from Restaurant.com WRONG! The site's practices are deceitful! It lists minimum restrictions like $35 minimum order for $25 coupon and 18-20% gratuity added before final tally. Wait until you have paid for it and try to print your coupons. Then you find out all the the other bull$#*!! Like 1 coupon per month, per table, per party. And if you have a larger party and sit on different tables, even if you get separate bills, you can only apply one coupon. It works out, I guess, if you live in the area so you can use your other coupons eventually. The bottom line, you are not really saving as you think you will. Like for Lobstergram, your $25 coupon is good for $95 food order and only if you call directly as it is not honored online. Definitely not worth the aggravation but mostly, I'm turned off by Restaurant.com's underhandedness.
I was scammed today! I had $205 in gift ecards from exchanging. I had that amount for months. There were no restaurants which I wanted to go to so I could use them.
I received two emails from RDC stating that the restaurants no longer would honor RDC's certificates. I exchanged 13 certificates last night to ecards. I checked my balance last night, and it was still $205. This morning, it should have been $330! The new exchanges were there, but I had lost $100 of my old ecards! SCAM! Don't ever trust this company! SCAM ARTISTS! I spoke with two reps, and they told me that I was mistaken and that it was correct. No one cared that I had been beat out of $100!
I am still fuming! I will never spend another red cent there! Please tell others!
That stupid POP out is annoying as heck! AND WHY don't you have a "Remember me " options for logging into "My account". It sooooo annoying. I have to logging in with email and password every time. It almost not worth go through with. It's a Domino affect, I work for Stickr they pay me with your coupons and you make it hard to use sooooo Bye Stickr and Restaurant.com
Hey listen-- Restaurant.com KEEPS 100% OF THE REVENUE and most of the time features businesses with out their permission. Restaurant.com thinks these businesses should be happy they are sending people in (and keeping 100% revenue) but people who use these coupons are cheap and only want to spend what the "certificates" state it's for, in other words, if you buy a $25 gift certificate for $5, people don't want to go over the $25
When business owners called up to get their name taken off websites, they would say it would take 90 days and that is a crock of you know what. It takes seconds to remove them. Bottom line, don't be greedy, think about it. $5 for a $25 (especially when you're not willing to spend past the $25) you get what you pay for.
GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND! Just google the nightmares Businesses have.
Rigazzi's Restaurant, for being voted the best Italian restaurant in St. Louis was a disappointment to me because they either hired incompetent staff, or a worker prone to prevarication or practical jokes. I had called to make a reservation for the following Sunday afternoon. The reservation was taken. I arrived to discover the place was closed on Sundays. -Rev. Dr. R. Behringer
