I wanted peace of mind, and I bought a Select Home Warranty for 3 1/2 years costing almost $1500. Peace of mind ended when our ice maker stopped functioning, and I made my first claim. I was told that the refrigerator was covered but not the ice maker. Huh? Then I was told additional coverage for the ice maker was normally $240, but I could get a reduced price of $124! Plus a $65 service fee. So, $200 later I'll get an email within 48 hours to schedule service. What a corrupt and misleading business model. I'm so disappointed.
David walker was very friendly and knowledgeable. He did a great job at explaining what was covered and exactly what steps to take if we ever needed their service. The phone call was clear and concise. I'm excited to be with this company for the next years to come.
Still waiting on the status of my claim I requested a month ago. The email said to get in contact with someone to fix it. I thought that's what I was paying you guys for. Also Do I send the claims form before or after I have it fixed.
Iam with this company since a 3 month but what happens when my air-conditioned not working. 1st. They need 3 years maintenance records. And not any company. Plus they need pictures of the compressor to see how old and too many things. And I live in Texas imagine I stay without A/C till they decide what they want to do
I have had other home warranties and as a realtor Ive had good service. Home Select takes your money and never comes out or responds to calls. They refused to come out and even look at my hot water heaters and no one ever responded to my first claim Why do I even have this warranty that cost me 800 dollars. They are a scam and I am furious!
I was on the phone with the agent for about 5 mins and got everything done. He emailed me the info right after we got off the phone. Of course I did a comparison of the top 5 home warranty companies and found this one to be the cheapest with similar coverage.
I havent used them for anything yet so this review could very well change but so far so good.
I have had some difficulty getting Select to find and assign a repair person in my area. I finally had to replace myself garbage disposal for which they reimbursed me for the new one, I am still waiting over a month on them assigning someone to do an electrical repair of a light switch in my kitchen.
AC went out, tech shows up with no tools, takes 3 weeks to get parts and return. Installs parts then unit still does not work. Takes 2 more weeks to determine the AC is not going to be covered, 2 70 year old tenants sweating for weeks, I had to put them up in a hotel for their safety.
Rep for the company was not a pushy individual, instead he explain my options and what was available and cost. Rep was knowledgeable in his field which made me comfortable to do business with. After reading the reviews after I just purchase a one year contract I am beginning to wonder if I will have the same problems. Well I will live and learn as they so call say it. Hopefully I will not have any problems but if I do I will be putting a review up too. Since I am an Office manager of a company I can let others know whether or not to go with this warranty company too. Word of mouth and the internet are two strong tools in keeping a business strong.
Read the contract before purchase, this company only cover a maximum of $150 for an AC replacement unless you have documentation for maintenance. What a waste of money on this plan! I should have used American Home Shield.

Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
Answer: They are fast when signing you but so slow in responding and they are a total scam had to pay out of pocket for my leak repair that they should fix
